La Galette de France reviews
57No one makes almond croissants like La Galette. A visit there whether to dine in or take out always lifts me out of the ordinary.
After an appointment and rushing between drizzling rain I popped into La Galette with latte and something integrally french to eat on my mind.
The Latte just as I like came to my table but my choice of Almond croissant well had me floored instead of an Pate d'amande through the center whoever the Pâtissièr was filled it with almond flavoured Crème Pâtissière, interesting though it was, messy it became. Apparently a good though to my taste and expectation, flawed concept.
As for a French Pâtissière cafe with croissants (the actual taste and consistency of the baked item without its filling was great), expressed by name and facade as being traditional French come "La Ville Lumièr"
(Parisian) in its nature, it's a shame a bowel of coffee to dip ones plain or otherwise, croissant is missing from their menu. Hopefully a missed opertunity to be rectified.
3.5 stars
The lady at the counter behaved like she was forced to work there. No greeting, no "thank you", no smile, no "please", just starring.
The croissant was served on a plate with just a knife and no fork. I looked around and saw everyone else having fork with their pastry. So I went to the counter and asked for it. I was provided with a kid sized fork.that was half the size of the provided knife.not sure what the lady at the counter had against me while everyone else got a nice matching set of cutlery. Fine, I still carried on with the wonderful almond croissant I came all the way here for.
Service quality is a big factor, and sometimes it could ruin the whole experience. Don't think I will come back.
Plenty of customers on a Sat morning, always a good sign! Cakes are delicious along with the gluten free tarts. Friendly service too, a great little patisserie.

A very authentic French Cafe with a great selection of food, friendly staff and excellent ambience. Best place to catch up before work or for lunch meetings.
Scrumptious croque Monsieur and omelette! Mocha and long mac are better tasting than what we had with other cafes so far.might come back and try the galette next time!
This is a delightful café with lovely staff, soft French music in the background, and certainly delicious food - the ratatouille was wonderful. I will certainly be visiting again!
It is my greatest pleasure to announce that a subtle French atmosphere has returned to La Galette, a little corner of France in the middle of the Nedlands!
Authentic French patisserie cannot exist without French staff!
Flat white and a delicious lemon tart whipped me back into shape. So many gorgeous foods to buy.
Everything is great and tasty, the galettes and even better (Forestière). The desserts are amazing. Really nice ambiance with outdoor and indoor seating. Staff were very friendly as well. It’s a nice place to share with your family and friends. I highly recommend it! ️
This place is excellent! I highly recommend La Galette, the French food is very tasty, the environment is nice and the staff are gentle and good service attention.
Loved the Chocolate Croissant. Service slightly lacking in attention to detail for dine-in, but overall pleasant.
I have been here multiple times a week for the past few years. The pastries are to die for and coffee is excellent… sometimes. My advice is to pick a weekend with poor weather to beat the lines and enjoy the service from the weekend staff. This place can otherwise be completely packed with lines often going out the door. Service is also quite variable. Reece is an absolute gem and actually speaks French! Overall staff turnaround seems to be quite high as don’t often see old faces, but I’ve been informed that Eric still owns the shop.
I understand that they’re probably managed by a third party, but it would be nice if the toilets were cleaned a bit more often. It was especially appalling at times during winter with all the mud and geriatric patrons…
This is a great coffee shop. Definitely recommend a visit and try out their range of sweet stuff
Delicious ratatouille and baguette. Coffee was great too. Pastry while nice were not of the same standard. Will defintely go back to try other options
Service excellent Many customers dashed in just before closing, and though coffer machine was off, the lady brewed a tea, take away.
Bought some croissants and was disappointed: really flufffy, no butter taste, not authentic: any French man will be disappointed.
One of the best omelettes I’ve ever had, great staff. You would want to try this little gem cafe!
Extra special pastries that will have you going back for more! The Sausage rolls are a favourite.
