La Casina Restaurant Dunsborough reviews
66Excellent service particularly from our host Michael. The food tasted better than any restaurant I’ve been to in Australia. Really.
A very good restaurant, the staff were amazing, the food was amazing, they even made the night more memorable for my sons
bday as it was his 21st, they brought balloons out and sang happy birthday, highly recomend this place to anyone
Really good food! Micheal was truly one of the best servers we had! Highly recommend worth your money
Cost prohibitive. Food was good but not standout and heavily overpriced. Up to 3 x RRP on some wines is well over the top.
Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere a little lacking but otherwise a nice enough restaurant mostly let down by its pricing.
We shared the beef cheek, fusilli and potatoes. We had the Um Ali for dessert. All excellent. It is all about the flavour and boy do they get it right. The beef cheek was one of the best dishes I have ever had. I didn’t expect it. We will be back when we are next down this way.
Casina is full of warmth, character and superb food. The staff are outstanding. We always visit when in Dunsborough.
Absolutely in love with this place, staff were amazing and the food was even better, couldn’t fault it
We will definitely be back
0 stars. This place was horrible. Kids mac and cheese was disgusting my child kept spitting it out wouldn’t feed it to my dogs.
Arancini balls were so bland, taste like they been in the freezer for 10 years crusty old outside crumb.
My wife ordered the “home made pasta” MACCHERONI - it was basically store bought penne pasta undercooked again so hard you could still see the clear translucent colour in the pasta. The sauce was so salty and oily was not even a sauce more a oily salty disaster.
I ordered the “Pitch black Angus” - it also was just your ordinary store bought steak that had all this weird sauce stuff over it and was not seared. I also asked for medium rare. It came out well done and cold.
Definitely won’t be back and definitely won’t be recommending this place to anyone who is visiting/holidays.
Absolutely wonderful experience at Casina. Excellent table service with friendly staff members. Food was exceptional and beyond expectation! We tried all the meat options, but the Creste Rigate is to die for. Highly recommend if you’re traveling down south =)!
Oh dear how this place has changed from previously enjoyable visits.
The menu is a very strange mix of Italian and African with a “Greek” dish thrown in for good measure. I’m not sure any nationality would claim the dishes with any pride. Poor presentation, poor cooking, lacking any flavour and love, this was a disappointing meal. The Argentinian crew front of house were getting the food out and simply plonked the wine on the table without realising the cork needed removing…
We won’t be back
Some of the best food I've ever had, crazy delicious! Not cheap but you get what you pay for, try it out and you'll definitely be back!
Although it’s a little out of the way, we had a great Italian meal that felt like it came straight from a Tuscan town. The steak tartare was deliciously tender and the deep fried toast was moorishly good. The grilled octopus was also equally meaty and juicy with every bite packing a tender punch. The pasta gnocchi was also tasty and rich with flavour which made each bite tastier than the last. All in all it was a great evening packed with even better food.
Food was amazing, pasta was perfectly cooked and delicious. Would also recommend the clams. Will definitely be coming back
Ate here on a Thursday night - not too busy, maybe 7 tables of 2-4 people.
Entree- arancini. Very bland. Had to add a lot of salt and pepper. My husbands main came out while we were still sharing the entree. The pumpkin fateh. Good flavours, presented beautifully. Then waited half an hour for my main. Apparently there was some confusion as the staff thought we were sharing each dish. Second main was spaghetti with roasted mushrooms and pumpkin cream. Again very bland, muted flavours that didn’t really complement each other. Pasta was described on menu as Al dente but still seemed somewhat undercooked. Issues weren’t bad enough to complain about but we won’t be returning.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Casina. I had the pastitsio which is a Greek style lasagne. It was delicious with all the flavours and spices of an authentic home style Greek pastitsio. My husband had the beef cheeks which were flavoursome and so tender. Our entree of arancini balls was also tasty and a real treat. We enjoyed the broccoli salad and when we asked the waiter about the dressing, the chef came out and talked us through it. I have already tried to replicate itvon myvretirn home. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back again on our next visit to Dunsborough.
I happened upon this restaurant last year whilst on holiday in Dunsborough. The food and service was spit on. On holiday again this year with 3 other people and I suggested Casina. The welcoming fire when you walk in sets the tone. I think that the food surpassed even last year. I’m sure they change the menu with each season but if you are there in Autumn this year and you want a good, or should I say fantastic vegetable dish, have the broccoli dish. And the fish was pure heaven! I didn’t try the pasta dishes but my dining companions assured me they were delicious. Not to be missed - just be careful when trying to find as both my map apps took me straight past it.
Welcoming staff and good service all night. Our party of four shared the tamarind eggplant and the figs for entre. Fresh and flavourful. Then two of us had fish wings and the other two had lamb & cherry meatballs. Honestly we all couldn’t stop raving about the wonderful food. Only sorry I didn’t leave room for dessert. Will definitely return to try some of the other fabulous dishes
Our family enjoyed sharing couple of dishes. Especially the chicken and the steak. To be honest prawn pasta was a bit mysterious as it had too much dill in it, could only taste dill and prawn. Roasted potatoes and fish dish was also good. Family enjoyed duck pasta as well.
We had a delicious meal at Casina, the food was very fresh, light and delicious. The figs with prosciutto were absolutely delicious and this from a non fig lover. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Always good. Never disappoints. Vegan options galore and this is why we keep coming back time and time again. Pasta is cooked fantastically.
