I am currently living in korea and your classes have helped me so much with my Korean and I am so much more confident living in Korea! I made so many great memories here and it really felt like a family and learning together was so fun. If I move back to perth again I will be sure to resume learning Korean here again.

My daughter has been attending classes here for a few years now and she loves it. Ebony and the other teachers are great and they make learning fun. My daughter eagerly awaits each new term.
They are knowlegible and passionate about their course and genuinely have the students best interests at heart. Just a great bunch of people.

I am a 2nd generation Korean-Australian in my 30s and I lost most of my Korean language skills in my teenage years as English and Australian culture became prioritised. After becoming a health professional and a mother, I felt deeply the loss of sense of belonging to my motherland and found it increasingly difficult to communicate in Korean to my own parents.
At the time I started here my speaking skills were significantly more advanced than writing, especially when it came to grammar – I had never learnt it! The teachers helped me first build the necessary strong foundation then added complexity. I simply love attending Korean class every week, and for me it is about much more than gaining language proficiency; the centre gives me a bridge to learning and experiencing Korean culture, giving me that sense of connection back.
KLCEC helped me gain confidence and pride as a Korean-Australian and I cannot recommend it highly enough, especially for those in a similar situation.

Ebony’s classes were concise and filled with information that was presented in such an approachable way, i honestly was surprised at how much we covered in a week! As an initial self learner i wanted to take classes to practice speaking and solidify all the things i’d learnt by myself and it was the best decision in my language learning journey, even doing tutoring with her is so efficient. Each module is really concise and has so much that’s covered but it wasn’t daunting at all, which i really appreciated. The courses are great at getting you to be able to speak from day one and emphasise clear communication. The games and exercises were great as well, they were fun and it was a great way to practice pronunciation. Ebony’s a great teacher, she knows what she’s doing and you can tell she’s passionate about it!

Years ago, I committed to mastering Korean so that I can better understand my wife's culture, and one day speak to our children in their mother's native language.

After trying self study, online resources and learning from my wife (not easy!), I enrolled for classes at KLCEC. I have loved it from the first class and it remains a weekly highlight for the fun, friendships, and feelings of reward that come from learning a new language with a group of like-minded classmates.

The classes are a good balance between enjoyment and serious learning, and the pace of the course allows for steady progress whilst ensuring no one gets left behind. The teachers go the extra mile to make lessons engaging, and happily join us for class dinners and movie nights. The Centre also organises special events to celebrate major Korean holidays - it is a bridge to Korean culture and the Korean community for many of us.

If you have ever considered learning a new language, I heartily recommend that you choose Korean! Not only is Korea a global powerhouse of popular culture, but the Korean alphabet is one of the most logical and ingenious writing systems in the world. Simply, it is a pleasure to learn.

And if you have ever considered studying Korean, I heartily recommend KLCEC as a community to support your learning. For my wife and I, hearing our little boy use the Korean words we've spoken to him is a great joy. I have KLCEC to thank for that, and I wish you similar fulfillment in your language journey.

I reached out to Ebony this year to restart my Korean learning, and I'm so glad I did! The Teachers are lovely with very positive attitudes and the hours are good for me as an adult. (Saturday afternoon) It's also encouraging and motivating that I will be able to move up a level each year for at least 3 years.

I would definitely recommend this course to others!

You will learn grammar, reading, speaking, and writing during your courses as well as gaining an insight into Korean culture and family. It's both fun and interesting, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and participate in class.

With many different levels to learn, these classes are suitable for casual or serious learners. There are also a few options for class times for those people with busy lives.

I am ex-student of Ebony 샘 and am currently attending the Level 7 of Korean Language class here in Ehwa University in Seoul.
My journey started with KLCEC back in 2018 from level 1 then with some hiatus am back to Korean again in second-half of 2020, before I flew to Korea to continue my studies I finished off with Level 2. To my surprise, during my placement test I was assigned to Level 4 in Ehwa. Another surprise I'd like to share was during a class presentation about someone whom inspired us in life. In one of my friend's presentation, I heard Ebony샘's name being mentioned! The link seems complicated but so interesting. My friend's mentor was her Korean Teacher in Singapore, and to my surprise that Teacher whos based in Singapore her mentor was Ebony샘! Wow! What a string of fate that linked us together, 3countries but one common language - Korean!
Nonetheless Ebony샘 and her team of teachers has definitely made the whole learning journey extraordinary and thankful for the teachers who has build my base so well and made me fit into Korea easier and faster.

Learning Korean in KLCEC was probably one of the best decision that I've made while I was here for university back in 2011.
I had some very basic understanding of Korean before joining the class - but I wasn't really confident with my grasp of grammar. Ms. Bae (or lovingly known as 배선생님) had her classes well structured, that allows her student to grasp the basic of the language fast without compromising on the quality of knowledge.

I thought it was incredibly important to strike the balance between the rhythm of the class with the amount of knowledge gained - not too fast that you can't get anything learned, but not too slow either lest you lose interest of the language. That was what I thought Ms. Bae did extremely well - I was able to keep my interest even up till this day because of the confidence in grasping the language further.

I was also particularly happy that Ms. Bae encourages her student who has completed M4 to take on the TOPIK exam (Test Of Proficiency In Korean; JLPT equivalent for Korean language that is acknowledged by most institution in South Korea) ; I personally think it is an admirable feat as most language school will only get you to level up in their own institution, Ms. Bae wants her student to really put what they learn into practice and make sure that you are confident in using the language when in Korea.

Apart from that, I was also fortunate to receive a scholarship from Ms. Bae at Sogang University for my Korean language course in 2014. With all that I was taught under the guidance of Ms. Bae, my interviewer from Sogang University was surprised with my level of understanding for Korean language with only 60 hours of class time (she double-asked me to make sure that it was 60 hours and not 160 hours ><).

All in all, I've had a great experience learning Korean with Ms. Bae - if only I didn't have to return to my home country, I would have continued with Ms. Bae till today. =)

My daughter is heavily into Kpop and is currently studying Korean Language with Ebony at KLCEC. I have to say this has been the best decision to make for a child who loves the Kpop scene! The benefits have been amazing and finally being able to understand the words to the songs is so good!
Ebony structures her classes to involve the interests of her students and this encourages their learning as it caters directly to them. My daughter thoroughly enjoys her weekly lessons and they are the highlight to her week. She has such a passion for her classes that she is bouncing to go to them every time! I love watching how this has made her grow and expand her cultural knowledge also.
You can choose to take Ebony's classes right through to a completely recognised ATAR subject also which is what my daughter is aiming for. An amazing opportunity for teenagers who want to combine their Kpop and K-Drama Interests and school!
I can highly recommend KLCEC! Ebony's classes are fun, modern and friendly and your child will come away with not only life long skills but the confidence to use them, all whilst making new like minded friends!

Ebony Bae is an experienced, dedicated teacher. She uses relevant curriculum and adapts her materials regularly to enhance learning and engage her students. Ebony instills passion in her students and works hard to provide them with different opportunities to enhance their learning (I.e. Immersion courses, TOPIK preparation, extra grammar classes etc.). Additionally, Ebony's classes become a family - developing life long friendships.

I have been studying with Ebony on and off for many years. She gave me the confidence to live and work in Korea. Now that I have returned to Australia, I have reconnected with Ebony and am returning to study with her. I would (and often do) highly recommend Ebony and the Korean Language & Cultural Education Center.

Ebony at KLCEC is really passionate in teaching Korean to her students. Her lessons are well structured and continuously improved based on students feedback. There are ample opportunities to learn and enhance our Korean language through KLCEC such as immersion course to Seoul or TOPIK studies.

I have studied in KLCEC for a few years now and with the foundations that Ebony taught along with the lessons from other teachers, I can say that it is worth while studying at this place. Not to mention the amount of friends I've made along the way!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time studying Korean language with Ebony at KLCEC. Ebony Bae is an experienced Korean Language teacher, and she made it really fun and efficient in learning the language. She can also arrange the students for immersion studies in South Korea using the same materials that she teach in Class.
For Perth people, be it beginner level or intermediate level entry, I would highly recommend KLCEC for learning Korean Language and Culture.
