Kiwirrkurra Community reviews
7 Drove out in my 2WD van and got bogged atleast 20 times in the sand and pot holes.
Very worth it though, community very welcoming, even allowed me to set up my awning tent for the night and do some back wheel spins in the red dirt, turned out to be a red smoke show. Experience of my life.
Really bustling. Definitely worth the trip out. However, one never really gets the red dirt out from the car door seals.
Very nice and calm place, has lots of greenery and i may not love the country side but this place just makes me feel calm
Great place and great people, but sometimes the itching gets crazy and i couldnt control myself and had to eat some chicken, thanks for that one brian
I did some work for school about this and i need to find the closes movie thearter and it literally 12 hours away
Great community. Conveniently located. Walking distance to sand. Can't wait for the tram line to run their to connect Kiwirrkurra to the CBD:)
Kiwirrkurra Community, Western Australia, is the most isolated indigenous (Aboriginal) settlement in the world (by distance) being an 8 - 9 hour 4 Wheel drive from the nearest substantial town, Alice Springs, in the Northern Territory.
The country is flat desert terrain with long red dirt dunes and rocky scrub lands between.
Entry to the "lands" is by permission available from the Ngaanyatjarra Aboriginal Council office in Alice Springs.
There is a 2 hour small plane service to the community on Tuesday and Friday mornings at 2020 price of AU$130 each way.
