There was no smile in the whole registration process, the teachers were not willing to explain more, the principal was not polite and respectful, I heard that there was racial discrimination before coming, I seemed to feel something. It wasn't until we went to enroll in other schools that the contrast was so stark, I can say for sure, that there was a problem with their attitude

As a mother of 2 and my kids going to this school I feel extremely dissapointed with the teachers and the white students being racist and calling our children racis (we are asians). I don't like this teacher Jullie Miller who is so biased with the white kids. My kids had complaints about the white people calling them racist and making fun of them but when my kids went to complain about it to her she just said that their problem isnt too big. I feel ashamed and I will never send my kids to this school.

All the teachers suck, ms naidoo waits outside the bathrooms for you and its really weird and creepy, teachers dont help u learn and when u ask for help the teachers get mad.kids are always vaping in the bathrooms and even in class! There is pee all over the bathroom floors and never any toilet paper or hand soap.the teachers do nothing about bullying and the canteen is highly overpriced.i would not reccommend ever sending anyone here, keep at least 17 kilometres away from this school

If you don't do cricket or fashion, don't bother. Teachers ignore your struggles, especially Mr Garven in student services. They will find a way to turn your struggles into your fault and punish you for it. This school needs a reality check.

Well it was a long time ago, but when I went to Kent Street my attendance in year 11 and 12 was less total than 50%, so the school was not allowed to submit any continuous assessment for me.

Yet not a single letter or phone call to home from them in the whole two years. In those days it was "if the cops ain't calling, we aren't worrying".

Luckily all I needed was a TAE mark for uni entry, and I got into Engineering and got an Engineering Degree, it didn't matter after that where I had been to school.

As I had my experience I am disappointed in one teacher that blames everything on me and doesn’t care about my safety, 2 weeks ago someone attempted to break in to my house and I didn’t go to school after the long holiday that was Monday then we got to go to school the next but as she recently knows about what happened she doesn’t care I don’t go to school bc of her and she doesn’t care about my safety and I am sensitive and she puts the blame on me that I distract the boys.
there’s also lots of fights everyday and the food is not good it’s pricey and gives you a bad stomach ache and I experienced myself. Also recently me and my friend are fighting right now so I went to go talk to the year coordinator and she keeps forgetting that I have appointments with her but the rest of the teachers are ok but still don’t recommend this school.

I go to this school, teachers go out of there way to help you, students are friendly here. There are hardly any bullies at this school

To whoever reads it, I was a former Kent Street Student. I was different from em. I had a goal. Police were usually involved, AND THE TEACHERS FOCUS ON THE PROBLEMS RATHER THAN THE TEACHING, AND THEY TAKE THEIR ANGER OUT ON THE KIDS! I heard recently that a Year 12 female lost consciousness due to a medication overdose and recently in 2021 Novemember, An ambulance took another female to the hospital and a patrol car took in a male suspect that shows ties and matches with the situation. I am warning you DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD THERE, they do vaping, they do fighting and they are a bunch of wild dogs. It is so shameful. I HOPE YOU ARE READING THIS!

Cannot recommend this school highly enough! Extremely dedicated, high quality staff, a very wide range of opportunities for students, from all walks of life, and always striving to achieve even more!
This is a school that truly understands that success stems from the positive partnership between students, parents/carers and teachers and promotes respect. It has strong community links outside the school as well as a rich history of successful past students, in a diverse range of industries and employment sectors including sports stars, musicians and politicians. This school encourages students to be the best they can be whatever learning area they lean towards. There’s something for everyone and it supports the ‘whole child’ academically, socially and emotionally (whether they need extending or support).
Our children previously attended private schools and we were initially apprehensive about sending them to a public school. This didn’t last long and we honestly wish we’d sent them earlier! We ended up moving all three. They love it! They are thriving and have great peers around them. Even though 2 out of our 3 kids didn’t start in Year 7 they were welcomed quickly into the school and settled well as a result.
Don’t let the old buildings put you off. The government really needs to step up and look at investing more in this school to match the efforts of its amazing staff and students. The campus is spacious and well placed centrally in Perth.
This school is what you make it. Past negative reviews are probably more reflective of the individuals who made them and certainly don’t reflect what we’ve experienced. Keep up the great work Kent Street and thank you!

KHS WA hidden GEM. Well resourced, Fully equipped Specialist Programs. The former situations have been dealt with, and teachers are doing their absolute best. Great team.

As a student at this school I am very amused by the reviews. THey're not wrong, in the slightest but I had a laugh about this with my friend

Would not recommend, the teachers are lowkey ugly and boring and the food is expensive and not good at all. Like fr it taste like booty.

Canteen food is too expensive, the students aren't respected, the mental health support is bullshit.

I went there this year and got put in hospital, not a good school there are fights every day and everyone thinks that there gangsters

Great to see the boys giving their seats on the train to the ladies getting on. Automatic reaction as they were approaching. Manners and courtesy in abundance.

I certainly do not recommend this school if you are looking for a good education and a safe environment without aggressive students and high involvement in drug usage for your child.

Some kid got stabbed there is so much bullying the kids are high all the time there are fist fights almost everyday the teachers all suck or are mega creepy this school is terrible and was the reason I left Australia DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE

Horrible school, my daughter came home today and told me that she asked one of her teachers what she was doing wrong because her test results wernt as could as she expected as she has been trying her hardest all night everynight studying hard (i am a witness in this) the TEACHERS reponse in an ATAR CLASS was a shrug and said "mmmm i dont know" absolutely discussting behavior from a teacher, they have one job and one job only TO TEACH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Absolutely outraged never send your child to this school ever.
