KBL Remodelling reviews
21Stacey, Danial and the rest of the gang at KBL Remodelling made the process of renovating a much less daunting task. Needing a full bathroom, laundry and kitchen overhaul Stacey offered some great design options and layouts. She was very receptive to my original ideas and we worked together to bring them to life. Her eye for details and selection of quality fixtures were second to none. Danial and the rest of the building team were very aware of my timeframe and managed to complete the renovation in a very timely manner. They communicated the process well and were speedy to counteract any small issues that popped up along the way. I am ecstatic with the end results and highly recommend KBL Remodelling to anyone looking for a quality, professional renovation.
Thoroughly delighted with the remodel of my bathroom and it has been a pleasure dealing with everyone involved in this project.
Thank you all for making this a pleasurable journey. Susan
Stacey, Danial and the team at KBL did a fantastic Job on putting in our new Kitchen. If you are looking for an easy going no drama Remodelling company KBL is it.
We had our kitchen completely guttered and re-built with KBL. I first dealt with Stacey who is a wealth of knowledge and helped me to re-design our kitchen. Stacey has many great ideas but she also allowed me to have my stamp, nothing was too hard and I loved dealing with her. Once the build started I dealt with Dan who was always on time and completely professional and always ensuring his boys were on top of every detail. He came after each section was completed to ensure it was up to a perfect standard. We had a few glitches on the way with Covid but the KBL team were always there to sort any issue and without any fuss. My finished kitchen has exeded my expectations and I will definately be having the team back to renovate our bathroom down the track.
I was last week threatened (by a Director) with possible legal action if I were to write a negative review here, therefore I will not be reviewing KBL in full or as honestly as I would have preferred. I always attempt to support local, family business, but in this case and in my opinion, KBL did not live up to my expectations and I strongly believe they need to seriously work on their customer service and especially their communication skills. Their product (so far) is acceptable, however the installer scratched my newly refinished timber floors, even after I expressed my concern and suggested he put a protective cover down. Because they demanded payment in full, prior to installation, I have zero recourse for compensation for my scratched floors. I would not recommend KBL to anyone!
MY RESPONSE TO THE OWNER'S RESPONSE:
I believe I now have licence to write the review I INTENDED and hoped to make public back in January. Firstly, my name is NOT Wendy, secondly, I sincerely and wholeheartedly apologise for the renewal of this review – I had no desire to do so and assure you it was done without any malicious intent whatsoever. However, I now feel it necessary to defend myself against your accusations and confirm the actual chain of events from my point of view.
Stacey attended my property in late October, carried out an inspection and emailed a quote requesting FULL AMOUNT of $1600 to secure a January installation. In her response below, it was “ONLY changing 9 drawer fronts and a dishwasher panel” so I thought 2-3 months was excessive to complete such a job. My response (very pleasantly) was I thought their terms to be somewhat unreasonable as I’ve never paid in full, upfront for jobs previously. Stacey eventually agreed to 50% deposit (6 November 2019) with the balance to be paid on installation date – exact wording in her email (and I still have as proof) “I will not accept anything less than a 50% deposit and the balance will be due on the day of install”. Not PRIOR to install – I would NOT have agreed to those terms, and I would never have proceeded with the job had those terms been made clear! She brings up the affordability aspect, which had nothing to do with this – it was the principle of paying in full, up-front that I disagreed with. Installation date was agreed by both of us, well in advance and amicably, for 17 January 2020.
I admittedly ignored the final invoice for the balance to be paid PRIOR to install and I reiterate that I NEVER agreed to those terms. I didn’t contact her to discuss, as I suspected it would turn nasty and I had already experienced her aggression. On the morning, she called demanding final payment - I assured her I would pay the balance upon completion, even offering half prior, and the final amount when complete. She refused to compromise and informed me she would NOT send out the boys (she refers to “the boys” – there was ONLY ONE installer). When I did speak to her, wow, did she turn vile – yelling and abusing me over the phone and then in text messages until I was in tears. Yes, I swore at her out of absolute frustration, but I assure you, the foul language, abuse and intimation was hurled my way at every turn! In the end, I was forced to pay the balance PRIOR, being left with no recourse whatsoever once I realised my floors were scratched. I mentioned to the installer that I would be writing a review – within an hour, the director called (this was my FIRST conversation with a director, contrary to what Stacey states) – he too, would not let me speak, constantly interrupted me, and eventually his final threatening words were, and I quote “if you publish any negative review, I will see you in court! ” then hung up. After all this, it’s no wonder I didn’t follow up in regards to the damaged floors. I too have ALL correspondence available for anyone to read. Although I found the installer to be pleasant, the attitude and demeanor of Stacey (which is even evident here in her response) and the director with whom I spoke, will forever leave an unfavorable impression of KBL Remodelling.
It was a pleasure to do business with KBL Remodelling, Stacey’s know how and ability to know just what would work best was a blessing. The company carried out a complete gut out and renovation and the workmanship cannot be faulted. The best comment I can make is this! If asked would I use KBL again I would have no hesitation in both using them again and recommending them to others. Many Thanks KBL and Stacey got a job well done.
Trying to get a quote out of this company is liking pulling teeth. I found Stacey to be so unorganised, she kept forgetting to quote us for the work we wanted to get done. On the phone I was told their was so many different colours of cabinets to choose from and so many different style cabinets to choose from but when we went in there she hardly showed us anything. No professionalism from her either. Still waiting for our quote after 3 weeks. Wasted our time going into the "show room".
I was last week threatened (by a Director) with possible legal action if I were to write a negative review here, therefore I will not be reviewing KBL in full as I would have preferred. I always attempt to support local, family business, but in this case and in my opinion, KBL did not live up to my expectations and I strongly believe they need to work on their customer service and especially their communication skills. Their product (so far) is acceptable, however the installer scratched my newly refinished timber floors, even after I expressed my concern and suggested he put a protective cover down prior to commencement of the installation. But, because they demanded payment in full prior to installation, I now have zero recourse for compensation for my scratched floors. I will NEVER use KBL again nor would I ever recommend them to anyone!
KBL recently made a new Bathroom cabinet for my ensuite and it turned out beautifully. Workmanship and installation process absolutely A1. Danial made some design suggestions that I took on board which resulted in being both functional and asthetically pleasing. Great job guys. Thank you.
They were mediocre I thought, some good work, some bad. We had delays, but they eventually got it done.
Super easy and lovely company to deal with and so much cheaper than other quotes. Was really happy with the kitchen they installed and how quickly it was done. I would recommend these guys to anyone who is looking at getting a new kitchen or renovating.
KBL were a very professional, efficient and friendly family business to work with and we are very happy with our new bathroom. Will have no hesitation in recommending them to family and friends! They delivered on time and on budget.
We recently used KBL remodelling for a full kitchen/laundry, bathroom, wall removal and floor renovation of our unit in Como. My husband and I couldn’t be happier! The team at KBL were fantastic and delivered exactly what we were after. When I first met with the design consultant Stacey I knew they were the company for us as she understood my brief completely, was so enthusiastic and professional but also realistic and made sure what I wanted was actually workable in the space we have. When we met in the office to look at the design and possible choices for finishing’s she had already guessed the finishes I might want and we barely had to change a thing. I was honestly ecstatic at this point. When it came to the building side Project Manager Danial was also great and explained to us what was happening each step of the way and was able to create exactly what we wanted. There were even able to source nearly identical outside bricks for the unit that had been there since 1975, no easy feat. KBL were fantastic to work with and I would highly recommend. As renovations are stressful enough it really took a lot off our minds knowing that the team were able to design, build and coordinate all the trades to complete the our project the way we wanted it. Thanks KBL Team:)
Thanks KBL, we love our new kitchen and bathroom. Stacey made the process of designing and choosing our finishings easy and fun. We had good peace of mind throughout the build. It's been a pleasure working with a family run business who care about their customers.
KBL renovated our kitchen and laundry. They provided a great product with proffessional service from beginning to end. Highly recommend the whole team.
KBL renovated my kitchen, bathroom and laundry and the results were outstanding.
The value for money was far better than I expected and the suggestions made by the team to maximise my space were both innovative and practical.
I was visited by 2 other companies before deciding to commit to KBL and both were more expensive and didn't appear to care about the job.
KBL is a family company with family values and I would not hesitate to recommend them to look after your family home.
Rude and inefficient, amateur design & plans, shoddy workmanship. Worst experience with anyone over 30 years of renovating. STAY AWAY!
I contacted them for a laundry renovation quote and was told I had to pay for a quote which is outrageous and unreasonable. They certainly lost my business which could have potentially been the kitchen and bathrooms also. There are many helpful businesses out there offering free quotes and advice so don't pay for it with these guys.
Had our kitchen and Laundry cupboards replaced almost two years ago, still get comments on how great they look. The staff at KBL bend over backwards to make it a seamless process.
Had a minor issue recently with a cupboard dropping, the guys came straight out to rectify. Great after sales service.
Contacted KBL to renovate my bathroom and kitchen. Ultimately, I had a bad experience, and I don't recommend them.
