Karrinyup Wellness Centre

I attend the Karrinyup Wellness Centre and have always been greeted with friendly and helpful staff.
The practioner i see, Dr Barry Smith always treats me with care, friendship and professionalism. I find his treatments and recommendations contribute to my overall healthy well being. I would have no reservation in recommending Dr Barry Smith.

I’ve been seeing Dr Shinae Brownrigg at Karrinyup Wellness Centre for years, along with my husband and two children who have both had chiropractic care through Karrinyup Wellness Centre since birth. I would highly recommend both Dr Brownrigg for her highly skilled treatments and knowledge, and KWC for their professionalism, along with caring and helpful attitudes.

I've been twice at those chiropractics, they didn't did much on me about cracking my neck, back so they told me I have to go twice a wwek

Had a booking with Veronica. Not happy.
1. Cost was too much for the hour. You'd expect $115 for a 90 minute booking.
2. Table was too high. I had to climb up onto it to lay down and slide off it after booking- which as a diploma qualified RMT myself- can see how the table being to high is quite dangerous. I'm just wondering what an elderly lady would have done in that situation.
3. Therapist didn't concentrate or have a map of working around the body. It was all over the place. Lats to neck, to LX.
You start on one area and work onto the next. You don't move on until that muscle has fully released. And you don't force the muscle to release. They have to release and melt under the right application and time of stroke.
4. There was no skill or method. No blade of ulna, flat of fist, reinforced fingers etc. Just fingertips cracking constantly and digging into me painfully. I have a high pain threshold but this application was thoughtless and ineffective. Strokes were performed quickly, not giving the muscle time to release if it's own accord. You never force muscle, as it corks the muscle and makes the client tense up which is what I did the whole time. Therapist obviously isn't trained to pick up on clients body language. I watch my clients all over and pay attention to muscle tensing, difference in breathing, holding breath etc
5. Too much medium applied. It was meant to be deep tissue remedial, not relaxation. Hands can't apply the method and work properly on a muscle if you can't grip and there's too much slippage.
Better to have spent 1 hour actually attending to the muscles that as any RMT can normally feel the tension with the method of application and having those muscles fully release before moving onto next section of muscle. My muscles are half released but painfully corked now.
So all in all, worse off after the booking than before I came in.

An awesome practice with such a wide range of allied health services available. Everyone of the team is very knowledeable, friendly and extremely helpful. From the moment you walk in through the door and are greeted by the friendly, smiling reception staff you feel welcome and at ease. You know you are in safe hands.

Amazing place, I've always had a good experience at karrinyup wellness centre, everything they do is thoroughly explained and I always walk away satisfied and feeling better. I have been seeing a Chiropractor named Emily Udiljak and her treatment is extremely beneficial, her advice has helped me in the interim and longer term and I will continue to see her to help maintain my health

Dr Shinae has been treating me, my family and friends since she was a student. She is knowledgable, experienced and professional in her approach to chiro. Thanks to her I can easily get relief from pain.

Dr Shinae is magic! Before we saw Dr Shinae my 3 year old would fall over ALL the time, not a week would go by that he didn't have a bump/bruise on his head. Every time he ran he would trip. He fell over ALOT. We did a 6-week intense (2 to 3 times a week from memory) treatment, followed by sessions with increasing intervals.and the results were AMAZING. I could literally see him falling less and less as the weeks went by, to the point where he stopped hitting his head completely, stopped falling over, was able to run. The benefits for him will reach far beyond the physical, his confidence in his gross motor skills and the effect on over all self confidence can't be underestimated.

I saw Jessica from Karrinyup Wellness a few years ago for fertility and associated issues. I found her to be very knowledgeable, she was incredibly compassionate and had a lovely kind manner about her. I had previously seen Dr’s and specialists to try and have a family but nothing was working. I’m very pleased to say that after years of stress and anxiety we now have our family and are very grateful to Jessica for helping us get there.

I would be very wary or one of the Naturopaths at this practice, after my son had been medically ill this year, I took him to this practice to help boost his immune system. We had 3 x 1 hour appointments at $89 a time and serval hundred dollars of natural meds. I became skeptical when the Practioner did serval repeat tests, which she had previously confirmed as all ok, then believed she could tell which mineral my son needed by saying the name out loud and feeling the response through an 11 yr old wrist. I decided to see a pathologist and check what the Naturopath was advising, which turned out to be completely wrong and had actually put my sons health at risk. I have tried to contact the practice manger by phone and email with my concerns and had no reply, i am taking to the ANPA now. Be very aware before putting yours or a Childs health in this practices hands, i will never use a Naturopath again.

I have been feeling so much more energy since seeing the naturopath at Karrynup wellness centre. I have seen a lot of other practitioners and Jessica was so knowledgeable and picked up so much that other practitioners had missed. I would highly recommend.

Dr Shinae Brownrigg is hands down the best Chiropractor I’ve ever been treated by. Her technique is amazing and very different from your standard chiro. She always manages to fix any underling issues, she gives me better overall health and most importantly she is extremely professional. I am so happy I found you Dr Shinae and I'll never see anyone else again.

Shinae is a wealth of information and is more than willing to spend the extra time to explain everything she's doing. The results are predictable, measurable, and consistent. The whole team go above and beyond for their clients, can't recommend them enough.
