Karribank reviews
32Food was delicious and the dining room was cosy and warm. It could have been 5 stars but the disposable food containers are wasteful and disappointing.
Food was small. $24 for fish and chips. All served in disposable containers, which is a big no-no to me these days. Wash some dishes!
Mine had a hair in the bottom from the cook. Had an apology but no offer of a refund or compensation.
Beautiful location. Beer was good.
Wouldn't go back.
A calm, relaxing place with your full privacy. We spent 3 beautiful days in this place and would certainly come back! On a side note, there's no network coverage except for Telstra. There are no air cons, but you won't need them anyways. Love this place!
Beautiful location, English cottage gardens surround the detached rooms. A quiet, relaxing stay in the country. Room may need an A/C during the summer months (had a heater though, didn't get above 15C while I was there)
Food was absolutely disgusting. Pricey fish & thin chips served in a takeaway container, filled up wifh chips & 3 strips of fish on top. No cutlery. Wood fired pizza, was a frozen pizza cooked in wood fire oven? Base not cooked thru properly. Absolutely no service. One staff person only. VERY DISSAPPOINTED. We were there 2 yrs ago & it was Really Good. Food & Service was good, that's why we went back with friends. Now. It's a waste of money.
Reduced staff menu, so what we ordered was terrible. Woodfire pizza that I'm pretty sure was store bought, and fish and chips that was not worth the price! Shame as the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, but hate when they serve food on cardboard boxes and disposable cutlery in a restaurant. Sorry but would not recommend.
Nice scenic place but for the price we paid for "wood-fired" pizza and fish&chips it's not worth it. The pizza was flat and looked wood fired but tasted like a prebought frozen mcCains pizza worth $5 but cost $24. The fish and chips was ok but also again the price was steep for 3 small finger thick pieces of fish & shoestrings fries & the most tiny serving of tartare sauce hardly enough to cover 1 chip. My recommendation would be just to go for a drink and the scenery but stay clear of the food. You're better off spending your $$ elsewhere. Also specifically asked for takeaway twice when I paid. And they still forgot and had to make shift our fish chips box.
Enjoyed garlic prawn Woodfired pizza with ice cold locally brewed ginger beer perfect on a hot summer day on verandah overlooking porongorups
We arrived at the Karribank and the room was initially ok. The walls are very thin and we heard every cough from the neighbours, and the kitchenette is tiny, lacking anywhere to put your food. The additional amenities such as pool table were not available as they rely on the bar being open. Little things like this would make the place a 3.5 review, but…
We all have bed bug bites. My son complained of itchiness after night one, and we thought mossie bites. He wears his pyjamas so after seeing bites all over his abdomen after the second night, we knew it wasn’t that.
We thought to keep it quiet and emailed the owner to let them know to check it over, with pictures of the bites, but when we didn’t receive an apology or any thoughtful comments, only a ‘thanks for letting us know’.
Great menu and craft beer on tap. Very relaxing and quiet indoor/outdoor setting and family friendly venue. Love going back for a meal
Great spot to chill and unwind while the kids play. Food is pretty good and the accommodation is old but well maintained
What a gem! We stayed nearby and discovered the Karri on Bar along the way and decided to have a drink and stay for dinner. I had the sliders which were divine and my partner had the steak sandwich with sweet potato fries which were delicious. The staff were so friendly and the resident dogs patiently waiting for their evening walk were such a sweet touch. This is an absolute gem in the wilderness.
We enjoyed a wonderful time at Karribank and Karri On Bar. The location is perfect to explore the local trails and wineries, plus the bar is so welcoming at the end of a big day out. The hospitality was so accommodating, a local wine list of treasures and food did not disappoint. Highly recommended.
We ran out of fuel and they contacted the local petrol place to open after hours for us. So helpful! Thank you!
We stopped here for a post-walk meal, mid afternoon. The kitchen was open, food was excellent and service was wonderful. Menu included a good range of options 3-4 of which were vegan friendly. Meat eaters in the group confirmed other menu items were great. Beers on tap were very drinkable. Fire was on and the vibe was very relaxed and welcoming. Will be coming back and highly recommend a stop here. Well done Karri on Bar.
The menu is progressive, fusing flavours across genres and offering original cuisine, highly recommend the pollo peruano con salsa verde picante, exquisite.
We loved the Dairy House Cottage we stayed in and had a really nice evening at the Karri On Bar. Beautiful location - great for accessing the hikes in the surrounding National Parks and local wineries.
We stopped in here after the skywalk for something to eat. Food was 10/10. Great choice of local beers and cider on tap and customer service was excellent.
We didn’t stay at Karribank but wish we did. However we went to Karri on bar which is a part of it. Amazing wood fired pizzas and food. Also the beer on tap was an impressive local Albany beer. This has now become a regular place for us to come to. Great job Karribank
We have now stayed in one of the chalets.highly recommend.great spot, great view and great food with amazing staff.
The food was.ok. I enjoyed mine but our friends weren’t impressed in their fish and chips
Servings were adequate in size
Staff were friendly and attentive
Local beers on tap at reasonable prices
Our only downer has nothing to do with the hosts.if you take you dog please keep it on a lead
There were several locals allowing their dogs to roam.even inside the restaurant. But no staff, tried to kick the dogs out. A bit annoying
