Kalamunda Tap House reviews
49 The good: The service is really good. The garlic squid and wasabi chips are spectacular. Quality of food is not skimped on. Seems like they do a decent Asian fusion type of food. The beers on tap are really really awesome and I wish I could have them all.
The bad: I really miss the Hans that they had taken over.
The pizza base is not great. Another reviewer brought this up. The base is so thin that the crust become biscuits/crackers. Forget about any doughy goodness. If they wanna do a thin crust style pizza, they need to do better. The joint across the street does a much much better value and tasting pizza. Sorry dudes.
Fantastic craft beer selection, will be back for drinks for sure,
The food menu had limited vegetarian options, and to be fair, the chicken bao buns should really have a vege option as the chicken was gross and ruined that dish for me. I ended up picking it out and the dish improved immensely.
My partner got the Poppers (in vege form) and said they were really good. So maybe vegetarian dishes are the way to go:)
Friendly, attentive staff and good food. Amazing view. Family friendly. Fantastic for craft beer lovers. You just can't go wrong here.
Kalamunda pub a bit busy? Give this place a go. Been a few times now and it's always excellent. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, wide range of beers, cider etc and food is right up there with the best. Try the chicken burger.
Went with some friends and was really disappointed. There is no accessible bathroom so if you are a wheelchair user you have go across the carpark and up to the shopping centre to find a bathroom. So theres no toilet option after hours if the centre is closed. Its a shame that any business in todays world does not recognise that people with a disability are consumers too.
Its ok to blame the building owners but it does not change the facts.
Ended up across the road at the Vault, at least everyone is welcome there
I love the food here. I had an amazing 3 cheese mushroom burger and tried their Oktober fest specials. There were 12 delicious, hand-selected and well priced craft beers on tap that change often. I would recommend this as both a place to go for a beer or cocktail to enjoy on a sunny day or as a restaurant to enjoy the food for a special occassion. Decor and atmosphere were cosy and quaint, whilst the staff were friendly and happy to chat. Thanks!
Thanks for a beautiful Father's Day breakfast. The veg stack was heaven, great coffee and the kiddos couldn't believe their donuts!
Came for lunch on Saturday, both my partner and I waited around the bar to be seated as there was no instruction. There was a man behind the bar with his back to us and two girls on the floor, who both walked past us with no acknowledgement, not even a smile or a "we will be right with you". After standing around for about 10 minutes feeling like a lemon we decided to go elsewhere.
Great menu with a good range of gluten free options and tasty beers. Can't wait to come back and try the awesome sounding desserts!
Has some potential and the Jalepeno Poppers were nice. But I for one won't be going back.
- Bland food, unclean glasses, uncomfortable furniture, staff barely going through the motions.
Great food, great service and casual restaurant atmosphere. Good range of local craft beers. Highly recommend!
Such a breath of fresh air, this place! The ever-changing selection of beers and ciders are so good! Food is substantial and well presented. Service extremely friendly and attentive.
Daily coffees are most probably the best in Kalamunda!
I had high expectations of the tap house and it did not disappoint.
The food was amazing, great atmosphere (acoustics are a big issue at most restaurants but not here) and the staff were all very friendly.
Looking forward to my next experience there.
Nice to see this venue reopened with good appointments and great location. Still new with willing staff still learning but great attitude and service. The serving of 3 Bao with meats a bit disappointing with the beef (cold sliced roast beef) a real fail. Other meals were enjoyed so willing to go back and try something different. Wish them well and Kalamunda needs a place like this!
Good selection of different craft beers and excellent pub grub style food. Expansive view of Perth out to the ocean too. Friendly and efficient service.
Nice location - felt the food was a bit average, and the waitress wasn't very friendly or helpful.
Ordered 2 x coffees and 2 x Ham and cheese bagels. Waited at least 25 mins. After leaving realised both bagels were cold with thick slabs of unmelted cheese inside. One was cheese and tomato, not ham. Resent paying for food I could have made much nice at home.
So a this place has a good atmosphere, a great selection of beers at a reasonable price and good service, but the food and its price lets this place down badly. I had the enchilada, for $28, it was dry, cold and the ear of corn under cooked. I've had better enchildas from a food van at South Perth, at a better price point. Big hint guys, the cook an ear lf corn, put the corn in its "skin" in the microwave for 3 minutes per ear. Done, perfect every time.
Give this place a wide birth. Service is poor, with one young lady serving and taking orders (she was good), whilst a older male stood behind the bar and check-out not doing much. Then they served you raw chicken (we had the wings), they acknowledged this, but no apology and yes charged us full price. If you're not lucky enough to get a booth, the bar stool seatings are uncomfortable.
Great new venue with a good craft beer lineup finally arrives in the hills. Foods been good and nice selection of local beers to choose from.
Looking forward to seeing where they can take it from here!
