I am currently writing an essay paper tying what I know about Ramsey health workers and and have posted in case anyone is interested in understanding the eugenics behind how psychiatry is operated (especially at Joondalup mental health).

Hitler gassed 80 000 schizophrenics and 20 000 manic depressives. However psychiatrists today still follow by the genetic eugenics researched by the nazis. All of this took place with minimal understanding of genetics. During the rise of the eugenics movement there was no knowledge of what a gene actually was, nor DNA, RNA and protein genetic functions. There was no double helix, and the genome was a total mystery. In today’s world, armed with amazing genetic knowledge, we have once again returned to the myth of genetic determinism – with potentially dangerous implications.

The accepted (and dangerous) belief is that psychiatry deals with brain diseases – inherited brain diseases. We are back to absolute genetic determinism. Today’s extremely bad science is employed to validate not only the idea that schizophrenia and manic-depression are genetic brain diseases, but that depression, anxiety, phobias, psychopathy, and alcoholism are caused by bad genes (see “Bad Science creates False and Dangerous Beliefs”).

The temperamental digestion of trauma into our personalities is the source of psychiatric conditions. Different temperaments experiencing similar traumas generate different psychiatric symptoms – you might have depression and I might have anxiety, or hyperactivity, phobias, or compulsions. There is no gene that determines psychiatric symptoms. We are not set up that way. Trauma is the source, while temperament determines the form.

This genetic belief system is consonant with the beliefs of somatic psychiatry throughout the last seventy-five years. The theory has always been, and is today, that human struggle is caused by the brain, not the interplay of personality with experience. Insulin shock therapy, ECT and lobotomies have been the treatment of choice. Each incarnation of somatic psychiatry has led to inhumane and barbaric practices. How did the sordid practice of reaming out the brain with an ice pick ever capture the psychiatric imagination? In case there is any confusion about the science at that time, the inventor of lobotomies, Antonio Egas Moniz, actually won the Nobel Prize for medicine in 1949.

Pharmaceutical psychiatry is the latest incarnation of this practice, now in the service of fixing genetic brain diseases. As always, amnesia has set in and we are repeating the devastation. History is repeating itself.

Now anyone who questions psychiatrists in mental health “hospitals” or threaten them legally receive anti-psychotics and medications which decrease fertility, shorten lifespan. So eugenics is happening in every mental health hospital in Australia.

Former patient of two stays here.they forgot to give me lunch and proceeded to not feed me until dinner.didn't even do hourly checks, or ANY checks at all.i could have ran out the building and they wouldn't have known.they told me my urine test was positive for drugs when i didn't even have the money for that kind of stuff nor did i find illicit drugs the least bit appealing.some of the nurses were nice, but overall 1 star because what the actual hell.

Have been a patient at multiple mental health units in the past and by far the worst.the staff with the exception of a few are arrogant and just seem like they come to work to get a paycheck.when I was in there last yr with the covid lockdown and then a RSV lockdown most of the staff are incompetent.as an outpatient too offered no help. Ramsey health should take the lead from another mhu they run at Bunbury and help people.really hope Ramsey heath care lose the contract.serco could do better and that says something.will rather suffer with my mental health issues at home then have these Muppets look after me.go to another hospital ie Charlie's or Fiona Stanley where they make you feel like they want to help.why does Ramsey still have the contract?

I was emotionally, verbally abused as well as neglected. I was yelled at, belittled and told to go away by the nurses. This is an extremely abusive and negligent hospital. It deserves negative stars.

While recovering at Joondalup Health Campus a doctor threatened me while my father was present. The doctor threatened to take to take away my rights and to forcibly submit me to the MHU if I did not agree to submit to the MHU voluntarily. Looking back I feel this doctor was predatory.

He hung around until my family left before coming to see me the first time and hung around until he could see both me and father were vulnerable the second time before threatening me.

When entering the MHU I was left uninformed without counsel. I was not informed of the rules, or my rights. I only later learned about my rights as a patient through the help of family and friends who came to visit.

This doctor who had threatened me was placed as my doctor within MHU, I felt extremely unsafe with this man. At our first meeting he had already decided how he wanted to medicate me. He had not read the notes from his colleague, my GP or my Psychiatrist about the severe and long-lasting side effects the medications that he wanted to put me on have and had on me in the past.

I believe an attempt was made to put me on the medicine anyway but thankfully it was caught by a pharmacist who informed me and with her help and my family prevented. I was then only on Nexium for antacid but kept for weeks to be monitored under which I developed severe sunburn, a chest infection and an ear infection, thankfully my GP helped with my treatment after my release.

Allied health was a shocking, you could do yoga, walk in the courtyard or art/exercise for an hour if you signed a liability waver and group style discussions/lectures on very basic things like sleep, what is depression, what is anxiety. This was considered patient treatment. In the weeks that I was at MHU I only saw the psychologist once who referred me elsewhere and the doctor who I felt extremely unsafe with once a week. Other patients informed me I was lucky as some had not seen a doctor for weeks.

Communication among doctors and nurses was poor and even poorer to me and my family about what was going on.

I also was very upset to find after release that the MHU had sent my private medical records to some community health group in Joondalup instead of to my GP as I had requested. MHU denied any responsibility and refused to fix their error.
