Joondalup BBQ Chinese Restaurant

So we decided to order takeaway. We ordered garlic beef, special fried rice, satay sticks and prawn crackers.
Upon entry to a empty restaurant and what should be a busy period I wasn't impressed by the cleanliness off the establishment.
Now to the food.my garlic beef sorry I should say garlic vegetables. The ratio of meat to Veg was shameful. Not at all impressed.
The satay chicken sticks. Not even going to go there. On the upside the rice and crackers were okay.
All in all. We won't return

I don't know what to say, it was not a good dining out experience.
The food was tasteless and overpriced for what was served.
Service. There was none. Four plates with cutlery and serviettes were dumped in the middle of the table as were the wine glasses.
Atmosphere. Considering it was a Friday night, we were the only four in the restruant the reason being the place we had booked over the phone on Thursday night was closed. Will not recommend or return.

Got uber eats. Food was cold, soggy chicken (should have been crispy) everything else was dry and absolutely no flavour. Plus totally overpriced. Won't be back.

Have been here a few times and have always loved it. Not sure if there's a new chef. Left pretty disappointed tonight. Food was cold and tasted different to other times.

The food selection available on the menu is comparable to many of the Chinese restaurants in Perth's suburbs. Having observed what others have ordered on the night of our visit it would appear that western-style chinese dishes are the most popular at this venue. Steering away from what we perceived to be the most common dishes, we ordered Combination hofun with egg sauce, Pork chops with chili and salt (aka salt and pepper pork chops), and Sizzling Japanese tofu. Although the dishes looked great upon arrival, only the pork chops were tasty. Unfortunately, the hofun noodles were bland and the Japanese tofu was swimming in an excessive amount of oil.

Food was excellent, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs.

Yum taste just as good as left overs

Pretty ordinary, I have had better and I have had much worse. Service was fine but the food was just uninspired o.k.

Pros:
Food has came quick and was very tasty. Service was ok. They brought the menus as soon as we seat and took the order within few min. Not very cheap but still reasonable.

Cons:
We've been 3 of us for dinner and our dishes comevone by one.

After they took the order all staff disappeared. We've wanted to ask for the fried rice do not have prawns and coudn't find any waiter. I raised the hand and the diswasher came at our table but i think he didn't speak english. Just said wait and calked the person that took the order.

Overall a pleasent dinner experience

The food is very delicious, very Hong Kong feel. Peer friends that are good to eat, which makes us happy.
The waiter's attitude is very good, very friendly.
But a lady (looks like the boss) does not feel like the young Chinese customers, the attitude is not very friendly, it is a pity.

Excellent friendly and polite service, from the moment I called to book until we left. Food was decent and enjoyable, no complaints. It came very quickly but was not rushed. I have been here before and enjoyed the 3 roast combination plate again along with the sizzling Sichuan chicken among others. A good night out for 12 people.

Nice place to bring my girlfriend with me to have dinner together. The service attitude is excellent and the food is served quickly. Highly recommended.

Went there Saturday lunchtime. The best Chinese. Special fried rice chicken satay and Chili garlic battered chicken where all amazing. Lovley 2 girls serving us too. We will definitely be back

Great comfort food. Taste & portions improved since the last time we were there.

*Update* The below review was in relation to Joondalup BBQ but the owners have changed. Tried the new place and food was alright. Portions were smaller and wasn't as tasty as before.

Consistent and very tasty Chinese cuisine. Been dinning here for years and never disappointed.

The food here is always great. Duck and prawn’s especially. Service with a smile and a friendly word

Good value about $22 per person, staff friendly, service is fast place is clean and was not so busy at the time we went.

Some of the lamb orders were mostly cauliflower so probably wouldn't get this again.

Special fried, rice and fish fried rice were excellent.

Plenty of seating for large and smaller groups, a place to give a go!

Fantastic food, fantastic service. Loved the Hong Kong noodles, tasty as, fab for the kids and can't go past the Japanese sizzling tofu (I'm a vego). A really nice group of humans working in this place. All good vibes. Friendly service with great food recommendations. We were a table of 12, kids and adults, so we ordered a wide variety of dishes, all handled easily and efficiently. Couldn't fault it. Thanks Joy Food!

I went to have dinner with my family. My friend told me that the Chinese restaurant in Joondalup was very delicious, so I came to try it with my family. The food was very delicious and everyone enjoyed it very much, especially the roast meat and duck was very crispy and juicy. It is highly recommended that you all try it and come back to this restaurant next time!

Food was good and servings were good sizes. Staff were very pleasant and meals came out promptly.

A hidden gem. We have dined in and also done take away. Fantastic service and so allergy aware. Very accommodating and the staff have gone above and beyond. Had a birthday dinner with a larger group and the service was amazing.

Roast BBQ meats were high standard. Great taste and affordable prices. Have ordered a couple of times since a change of ownership, and theyre doing great things since. Satisfaction 100%
