John Batten Community Hall reviews
11What a great spot. Right by the beach and water. Clean toilets. Lots of room. There may have been a few more than 5 vehicles there.
Nice clean toilets open 24/7. In the women's section there were 2x toilet stalls and 2x shower stalls, as well as a wheelchair accessible bathroom in a separate section.
This is a nice and quiet spot for vans and cars with rooftop tents etc to camp overnight. Self-contained RVs are not supposed to park here as they apparently have plenty of other options elsewhere if they don't need toilets.
As of Sept 2024, this spot and the "440 Roadhouse" are the only places in Geraldton with toilets open at night time! We tried the Lighthouse, Rubik's Cube, foreshore toilets, and even the 24/7 McDs (only the drive-thru is 24/7) as well as some of the other petrol stations and none were open.
Excellent overnighter. Bitumen, no mud!
Very clean toilets.
Ranger Dan called in and was very polite.
It's for NON SELF CONTAINED vehicles only, it's rare that we get somewhere free to stay, so please don't stay if you are self contained.
Free 48 hour camping in vehicles with bathroom block and bins (no showers or barbecue) also has a court, skate park and playground. Boat access easy via sandbank
Brilliant place where campervans and overnight car and van stays are permitted for up to five vans. Toilets, showers for females and water. Beautiful beach but wild and windy when we visited
FREE PARK.
I had some things to do for 2 days. I had no where to stay. I was told about this free park. I have an RV. So, it is not necessary to pay for a caravan park, when I have all facilities at hand. John Batten Hall is situated right on the Drummond's Cove beach.
An ashfelt parking area.
Good clean area to park.
Dogs are allowed as long as you pick up any do do and bag it for the bin. Bins are provided.
There is a small playground for kids, a skate jump. A BBQ on either side of the hall. Looking out to sea. A table and chairs under cover. Great place to stay. 24 hours stay.
Car park at Drummond Cove near John Batten community hall with 5 spaces for overnight parking. Must be self-contained. No caravans or ground tents allowed.
Time and Cost: 24 hours, Free.
Access: Sealed road to sealed car park.
Facilities: Small flat sealed camping area with no shade. Toilets, bins, potable water, BBQ, seating and small playground available. Excellent Telstra, weak Optus and TV reception.
Ambiance: Beachside location, quiet, can be windy.
Suited as an overnight stopover for self-contained vehicles. Small skate park nearby.
Nice place for an overnight stay in a non self contained vehicle. Toilets, showers, and bbq provided. Had no troubles with the Ranger. Lovely bloke.
Nice relaxing location.have gas barbecues free to use nice place skate ramp tennis courts and of course the main building which you I guess can hire out for events
There is a boat ramp next door but definitely four-wheel drive only lots of reefs under the waves so beware if you are boating
Public BBQ's, gazebos, fish cleaning facilities, tennis courts, skate bowl, boat launch incline (small boats) community hall and pleasant seaside location.
