House of Spice Indian restaurant reviews
35 Yummmmmmmm.
Love this place, live in Port Kennedy but don’t mind paying extra for the deliver.
Cheap delivery to PK and back, that’s an around a 30/40 min “round trip” for them.
Depending on who’s driving
Very delicious food service was a bit slow we were the only people eating in and it took a bit for the food to come out but it was super delicious
Spent $60 on Large Beef Vindaloo (paid $1 extra to choose beef) and Large Chicken Tiki Masala tonight. Open both containers and find very littlef beef in the Vindaloo and not much chicken in the Tiki Masala. Cmon House of Spice. Get your act together. More meat. Flavour was amazing as usual.
Lots of vegetarian options to choose from!
Food was delicious and so much of it, definitely get your moneys worth.
We loved the Hindi music my kids were obsessed with watching the Hindi dancers.
Definitely recommend.
Wow. What a taste! We visited this place two weeks ago for a dinner. The food was delicious, spicy yet nicely flavoured. Very rarely I have tasted this sort of combination of flavour and spices. Certainly recommended
I had my girlfriends around for a night of food and drink and just a generally good time, looking forward to getting some delicious Indian for dinner. We eagerly ordered our food, tossing up with the options that are available from this tried and tested resturant. Unfortunately, tonight was a disappointment and a black stain on our takeaway options.
After waiting an hour after we had ordered, and 10 minutes past the delivery time I called the resturant to check in with our order. I couldn't get through the first time, and on the second time I was greeted by a lady. Whilst I understand it is a Saturday night and they were probably quite busy, the service I received on the phone was not fabulous. I was told that the order was still being made, no, that the order was "5 minutes away". The lady then reassured me and quickly hung up. So as someone who has been in customer service I politely waited 10 minutes before calling through again. When I called through again, I spoke to the same lady, and she had again reassured me that it had left the resturant and was on its way. Now as a local baldivian, I know exactly how long it would take me to drive from the resturant to my house, and unfortunately the "driver" was still at the resturant when I called the second time. We finally received our order, almost an hour and a half after we had ordered, and I was so excited to finally get some sustenance that I did not check the order - rookie error.
Only after we had started pulling out the delicious containers of goodness did we realise that one of our dishes was missing. Unfortunately at this point the resturant was closed and I was not able to call to discuss this disappointment. Now whilst the missing dish was of a mild variety, my poor friend had to endure the heat from my medium dish. She sat through this unpleasant experience grimising through every bite, and unfortunately could not enjoy her dinner. On top of this, the cheesy garlic nann which we had ordered was not cooked properly and was still doughy.
I am very disappointed with this service, as we have not compensated for this unfortunate dinner disaster.
***Highly Recommended*** Absolutely great food, friendly service and pretty good value. Been here several times, even though it's not close for us, but it's well worth our time, and is a favourite place for great food.
See my photos for dishes we had, all three of us loved every dish, and quality has always been consistently of a high standard. The restaurant is not very large but clean and comfortable. Parking is behind the adjacent business facing the restaurant entry.
Ordered a takeaway last wow, chicken 65 drier than the Sahara desert, the sheesh kebabs were dry cold and just gross, everything went in the bin rang up to complain basically just said we’ll replace items on next order, won’t be ordering again! Disgusting
Very disappointed, that was a very soupy, mild curry that was extremely salty. Naan bread dry hard and very burnt tasted old. Kabaab was very dry and tasteless. I'm a huge fan of Indian food and that was shocking.
Worst. These guys add too much spice so that customers can't identify old spoiled meat (Using spice as a suppressor). Never recommend this restaurants especially for kids.
You don't believe, then feel free to experience yourself
We are regulars but honestly pretty dissapointed in tonights order and the past few orders. The Butter
Chicken is very watery not a pleasant experience. Will be trying elsewhere next time.
Ordered takeout last night, although flavour were good but the amount of food colouring used is just way too much. Mint sauce was water and green food colouring mixed together with few mint leaves in it and consistency of the sauce was just like water. Tandoori chicken had so much yellow/orange colouring in it that my hands are still stained. Won’t be back in a rush.
This would be the fifth time we have ordered from the house of spice Indian, all I can say is, OH MY GOD!
This has to be THE best Indian i have ever had, unfortunately even my kids like it, which means the word "leftovers" is non existent, absolutely reccomend the garlic naan! Get extra!
Still relatively new to the area and tried a few other places. Was worried there wasn't a good local Indian restaurant, don't have to worry now.
Brilliant!
Worst service tonight. Have been going here every week since it opened and was tonight turned away.
No expectations given, staff rude!
Christmas, birthdays etc.has always been our go to place. Not anymore.
We love coming to this place for their butter chicken every 3 weeks when my partner is home. But lately it's been a hit or miss and the last few times have definitely been a miss. Tonight's butter chicken was watering with no flavour and part of my naan was burnt. Other times its full of flavour and delicious.
Really disappointed tonight
Yummmmmmmm. Love this place, live in Port Kennedy but don’t mind paying extra for the deliver. $7 for delivery to PK that’s around a 30/40 min round trip depending on who’s driving
Thanks for an amazing meal, vegetarian curry was highlight for my fussy daughter. Incredible flavors.we have a new regular for sure
After reading all the reviews about the butter chicken, thought I'd give it a go, should have saved my money, worst Indian I have ever had, butter chicken was tasteless and dry, saffron rice was half cooked and very dry, ate a little bit and threw the rest in the bin, only saving grace was the garlic nan bread it was quite edible and tasty.
