Absolutely Amazing, great support, great group classes and the most polite nurses. Dr. Woodhall is an absolute legend, the nurses are all superstars and very professional. Thanks for all your help, I greatly appreciate it.

I met some amazing people here but i absolutely hated this place.most of the nurses and the main doctor did NOT like me (and i’m not just saying that.if you met the girls i met in there and asked them, they’d tell you i’m right) the food isn’t that good and they find it ‘too difficult’ when you have an autoimmune condition.there were two nurses that i loved and they were super nice to me, hence why i gave it two stars.one for the chicks i met there and one for those two nurses
anyway this place is awful.i’ve seen people come and go before they were discharged because they hated it.

Do not recommend any form of in hospital treatment. Other poor reviews are accurate.

My discharge report was also wildly inaccurate stating I refused certain treatment options for example, when in fact I had asked if it was an option I could pursue.

I've been a patient at all mental health units in Perth. This one is hands down by a long way the worst. I went to attend group therapy which is a requirement of admission but was told it was too full and I couldn't go. That's never happened to me anywhere before ever. I tried to go for a walk and was told it was forbidden - no kidding that exactly what the nurses said. I was having a shower and the nurses deliberately walked in on me naked. Same thing happened later that day with the toilet. Could barely eat the food it was bad. That was day one. Consultants didn't even see me until day four and prescribed me an absolute mountain of new meds and then told me I was having ECT next morning. I said no because I know people who've had it and it messed them up so he dropped me as a patient. Wasn't even allowed to try to find another consultant.

I submitted a complaint to the hospital and got back a
we-care-but-we-really-don't-care reply. Seems the staff attitude goes right to the top. Charming place.

Terrible place.

The psychiatrists hand everything over to registrars and junior doctors who are not qualified or able to handle even the most basic of situations. When they do make an appearance you realise they don't know what they're doing either. They use ECT as a threat and weapon to move patients in and out of the hospital rather than take the time to understand and treat conditions. Group classes are too full for even inpatients to attend when they want. Most are run by counsellors who barely understand mental health and get snarky at patients who are unwell.

The nurses can be quite cruel at times. They spy on patients in the common areas and feed back information to the doctors. You end up with misunderstandings and conflicts where there shouldn't be. They never dispense medications on time. This riles up the patients something bad. Sometimes the nurses don't dispense medications at all. This will somehow be your fault. The most often time you will see your nurse is every two hours during the night when they wake you to perform a mandatory check.

The food is atrocious. They have hamburgers, pizzas and nachos available every night because most of the time you can't eat from the main menu it is so disgusting and stone cold. They also can't accommodate food allergies or intolerances. Pack some antacids because you will get sick eating here.

The coronavirus rules are way over the top. No entering common areas without a face mask. No leaving the ward without a face mask and staff escort. No visitors without proof of double vaccination, proof of a negative rapid antigen test, and both of you have to wear a face mask. Only two visitors allowed each day. Patients have to test negative on a rapid antigen test every second day or they are thrown out of the hospital.

Don't subject yourself to this nightmare of a hospital.

It has taken over 12 months for me to write this review as we made a complaint in writing direct to the hospital but never received a reply.
A family member was admitted in a terrible state. Despite having a 2 o’clock appointment there was nobody there to greet us and the person couldn’t be found. After 3/4 of an hour they put us in a room. No induction was done.
Individual staff were wonderful but there were so many shift and staff changes that in seven weeks we rarely got to see staff members more than a couple of times. No continuity, always having to repeat the issues and sometimes poor handovers. Patient had weekend leave but every weekend the meds were not ready despite requesting them numerous times days earlier.
Incorrect medication given. Night meds given in the morning so patient was doped out all day then not allowed to have night meds in the evening for sleep. After coming back an hour late from a weekend excursion she was not allowed to have her meds because it was late.
This was despite the fact that meds often arrived a couple of hours late as an inpatient and sometimes only after numerous requests.
Poor communication as patient was also not warned about side-effects of some drugs or helped through sudden withdrawal of Lorazepam. Psychiatrist overdosed patient on antipsychotics until she became zombielike and unable to form words. She then had to be suddenly removed from all medication. Patient lost 7 kg in six weeks and became severely dehydrated. (no she didn’t have an eating disorder) Family had to point it out to staff.
Too many more incidents to mention but end result is patient has lost all faith in going to a mental health hospital to receive help and was quite traumatised by the whole procedure.

I have a son who is suicidal, depressed and desperately in need of mental health care. I rang the Ramsay mental health clinic and a lovely lady told me to get a doctors referral and he should be in in a week. She was so concerned she wanted to send the police out for a welfare check but I said it will be ok I’m watching him. So…. We go to the go get the referral and fax it to the mental health unit and we get a call a few days later saying no psychiatrist wants to take him on! What are the Psychiayrist’s there for if not to help patients. I am so mad! Thanks for nothing! The mental health in WA is pathetic and psychiatrists don’t care about people only money! Well he had top private health insurance but you didn’t care about him! I would never recommend this place!

Just completed a two week program at The Hollywood Clinic for PTSD, post 25 Years in the ADF. Absolutely outstanding facility with very knowledgeable Mental Health Nurses that know their stuff. I assure any Veteran that needs any assistance in Mental Health, please reach-out via your medical practitioner, and ask to attend The Hollywood Clinic. I hate writing reviews, but this place certainly deserves my time. It certainly won't cure you overnight, but what it will do, is assist you in developing the "correct" tools, to help you through your difficult time; not just a Band-Aid temp fix. The accommodation and facilities are first class and the food, well what can I say but delicious. I want to thank everyone on the Ferguson Ward for devoting your time to me throughout my stay. You have all assisted me so much. An experience I will always be thankful for. Warm regards and thank you.

Our family member attended this clinic for an eating disorder. The care was appalling and I observed my family member kept in her admission clotbes without access to her own personal items for 3 days. I also observed the NGT feed empty for many hours. I believe she had not showered during the three days as this was communicated to me by the patient and by observing the same clothes that she was wearing. There was no communication from the clinic despite repeated requests. When she left as a voluntary patient to seek help at another facility, the staff lied on a transport form and ordered the police take her to hospital. This involved searching her Family home and traumatizing a whole family including a 5 year old child. I reiterate she was allowed to leave to seek care elsewhere as a voluntary patient. The staff stated on the transport form that the mother would not
Take her daughter to any hospital, would resist, and that the patient absconded. This was untrue and written by staff who had never spoken to the family. The clinic needs to be investigated for its treatment of patients and their families. The family asked to meet with the CEO and this was refused. They were told to put it in writing instead.

Think twice before being admitted. Current policies seem to tie the hands of mental health nurses, I had to call Lifeline three times while I was in hospital. I was discharged suddenly, unexpectedly and traumatically. I was told to call an ambulance if I needed help with the psychological distress.

While the staff that I came in contact with were kind, understanding and patient - I feel that the eating disorder program itself and the way it's run needs to be reviewed. Extremely rigid and inflexible treatment, making you feel powerless. Perhaps it was the age difference between the other patients and I but I did not feel that I was treated like an adult.

Been here a few times of late with elderly parents, for various things.

No nonsense fast diagnosis and treatment every time, there are lots of different doctors in lots of areas of expertise in the one place, used 7 so far with a favourable outcome every time.

Visited the specialist Wednesday in for an operation Friday, the week before Christmas.

I don`t recommend this place for any one. They even don`t care for our ECG and blood result. They lost my ECG result paper and they lied that it has got a problem. But i confirmed that they lost it from nurses. So, i have to wait another week or so without medication and extra hospital cost for their negligence. Every thing, what i see is disgusting. They should better to open retailer shop, than a clinic.

Hollywood is good. If you have had a hard time in government mental health in time you will prove who you are in Hollywood clinic. Food, cleanliness, staff & OT great. You can relax in Hollywood clinic. It feels like a hospital should

Highly recommended. Lovely staff and facilities- the nurses are kind and helpful, so are the psychologists, OTs and psychiatrists. The rooms are cosy and private and the food is good.

Very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.

Trauma Therapy Facilitators at the Clinic were professional and very easy to talk too.by about the 3rd day you found yourself trusting them 100%. The staff at reception were always happy and willing to help with all your needs

Unbelievably bad communication regarding initial appointment, followed by an incredibly rude, passive aggressive set of emails with someone who is trigger happy with the caps lock who thinks it's a good idea to respond to emails on a public holiday and then complain about having to respond to emails on a public holiday.

Unequivocally inept and unprofessional behavior. Get another referral before you waste some ungodly amount of money for an initial appointment and then realize that you dont like your doctor or their staff.

The Eating Disorders Clinic is a "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" nightmare. The care is the complete opposite of modern patient centered care. Many girls leave there traumatized and depressed to the point of being suicidal. The psychiatrist and the Dietician run a punitive regime that borders on assault and is certainly a violation of the human rights of the patients. This place should be shut down.
This is a shame because the other mental health programs at this facility are excellent.
