Rented me a truck with a fuel cap that hadn't been secured, so it inevitably fell off without my knowledge. Not only were we driving around unsafely with no fuel cap for who knows how long without our knowledge, Hertz took it out of my bond to replace it - $140 for the fuel cap alone, and an extra $55 tacked on for "claim admin fee":) Do not trust this service!

We rented a truck for moving house and the truck and service from Hertz was amazing. Truck was very new and clean, and staff were friendly and helpful. Mason was an outstanding worker and took care of us very well. Will definitely recommend to friends!

Getting the vehicle was fine (largest truck they offer). Was told they have after hours drop off which was good as I had other commitments in the morning I was originally going to return. Stopped off at 2 am to top up the diesel and get to the yard only to find its completely full so I think I'll call them and maybe get approval to park it off to the side or in the empty car park across the road. Of course they don't have an after hours contact, only for breakdowns (as the person told me when I rang). So had to take the truck all the way home and take again in the morning to then still be charged for the extra km and fuel (because its not their fault the yard was full, apparently it must have been mine I guess). Last time with hertz that's for sure.

First, the business failed to deliver the truck as specified: tried to rent me the Toyota CH-R petrol instead of the true 4X4 with low gear, diesel. Fortunately, this was duly noted by me and timely taken care of by them.
When I turned the truck back in, it was accepted by the station staff in a heartbeat, without any comments whatsoever. On the next day however, I got a call from the manager of sorts, who notified me that the truck would need the body paint job due to the scratches and the "deep dry clean" due to the diesel smell in the cabin. I asked to email me the estimate for reconciliation, and they never came back.
One month later, the business returned my A$3K security bond - or whatever left of it, which was about 1/3 of the original amount. They kept the rest just because they could do so, without reconciling the amount with me.
After this post was published, the business owner responded here publically, offering to reconcile the issue over the email. I responded instantly, with no further progress on the subject whatsoever. (Obviously, this offer to reconcile was supposed to demonstrate their good will, but did not suggest any real action).

Hertz Gold member with multiple bookings with them - I'm going to cancel my membership now. Booked a child seat, and it did not say anywhere online that they wouldn't install the seat (I've rented cars with seats before, and they've all come preinstalled). Left me stuck having to pick a child up without a car seat, refusing to help in any way other than shrugging their shoulders. Tried to install it myself but the quality of the seat was marginal too, and it was obviously filthy, with old crumbs and who knows what else on the seat.
Contacted the service line both via phone, email and the online form, and received no response.
Really poor service, for not particularly good value.
Two stars because the return was reasonably smooth.

Fast, efficient, friendly service, great for the business community, and keep up the great work Hertz Welshpool. I also loved that I received my hire car in a clean, neat condition and fully fueled up. Obviously, the team at Hertz take pride in their work

Long story short due to a car accident I didn't have my physical driver's licence. The staff were nice but the company was not very accommodating. It was a very stressful time for me and this made things worse. I had to call DOT to get approval. There should be certain exceptions due to circumstances. I won't be recommending Hertz.

Terrible experience! Booked a vehicle in October for Christmas holidays. Was emailed the day before holidays to inform me they closing early (noon) on my pick up day. My flight only arrived at 3.30pm. I called their reservations team and they offered no solution but to collect the car a day later. Well that cost me uber, extra hotel night in Perth! Still no apology or offer to refund the lost day!

I definitely fuelled the truck before returning it & it was running out of the opening, but the grumpy guy said I had not, I even showed the receipt for the refuel, but because there was an air lock it had dropped buy time I got back to the yard.

When you hire a moving truck, the website indicates that you can add on a 'moving pack' with a fridge trolley, moving blankets and straps. I also called to confirm this would be available to hire, and was told it would. At no point on the website or in this phone call was it made clear that the blankets and straps were only available to purchase, not hire. You only find this out when you go to pick it up - so if you want them (and they are pretty essential to safely pack a moving truck), you'd have to pay hundreds of dollars extra just to get a handful of each. It's very sneaky that it isn't made much clearer prior!

Aside from that, everything else was fine.

I had a hire car for over a month, done through insurance, and Hertz provided a very nice car that was heaps better than the one I needed to replace. Never had an issue extending the time I needed the car for, again done through the insurance company. Rental and return were quick and painless, and the staff were all pleasant and friendly. I had no issues returning the car, but I did treat the hire car better than I did my own. Overall I had a great experience with Hertz, and would definitely hire a car from them again in the future if I ever need to.

Didn't get the car I booked, got a big a** 4wd instead. No one acknowledged me when I walked in either time. Only when they were free did they talk to me. Ten minutes later. An expensive and slightly confusing process.

Online booking was dead easy, the staff were excellent and explained everything. Like most hire companies there are fees but weren't too bad really. I didn't dent scratch or crash the truck so all good!

Very disappointed with the experience. Lady who served me was very rude and didn’t even bother to smile or treat me politely. I didn’t even know the process was over until after I asked is everything okay now, she just gave me a receipt while looking at her screen and just started doing something on her computer.

Rented a 12 seater minibus for a day. Made sure I drove less than the 150km allowance. Got a shock to find I have been charged $690 as opposed to $143 on my credit card. Called up and the receptionist said they made an error recording me to have done 1800kms instead of 110kms. Still have not gotten a refund for their error.
