Hertz Car Rental Kalgoorlie Airport

Arrived in Kalgoorlie a bit left in the lurch and were very happy Hertz could help us out with a last-minute rental. Got the car at 7pm Sunday night, returned it 7am Monday morning. Received a call Tuesday afternoon saying there was a chip in the windshield. No photographic proof provided. We had only driven to and from accommodation 10 minutes away on sealed roads. There was no way we were at fault for this chip that we hadn't even seen. Told the woman on the phone from the Kalgoorlie office that we'd like to contest the charge. She said to leave it with her. The next morning, there was a full charge of an extra $500 on top of our hire fees. No follow-up. Rang and got through to the Welshpool office and received apologies saying it was a previous hire that caused the damage and we'll be refunded. A huge amount of unfair financial stress for staff negligence. Very frustrating. If we hadn't continued chasing this up, we would be out of pocket for no reason. Not cool, Hertz.

Overall 4 stars because the cars they hire out are either old or dented etc. Also, not fully cleaned.twice in last 2 years they didn't have a car for me even after booking it 2 weeks in advance.

Will only deal with Hertz Kalgoorlie, Josh and his team are wonderful, great customer service. I would recommend them. Well done Josh and your team.
