Heno & Rey reviews
54Great tapas and very well located, went on a weekend, skeleton staff was in force, very different feel as compared to weekdays.
Best tapes in Perth.
Worth a visit next time your in the city.
Great service.
They have lovely GF bread
Busy place but great food and service. Was super fast considering we were to attend a show after our booking. Menu can be a little confusing so perhaps changing up the descriptions a bit might make it a little easier to understand. Overall a lovely dining experience.
Had a lovely experience at Heno & Rey thanks to Sebastian. He was so attentive and helpful. We really enjoyed our tapas.
This place has the potential to be great with a lovely setup and indoor outdoor flow while eating over Hay street. Staff are friendly. Unfortunately the food and cocktails are a total let down with no flavour and basic preparation. The batatas bravas were mush and gravy and the tomato salad just half cut tomato’s with 4 cheese swirls. We came here before a show at the arena and it’s fantastic the kitchen was open at 3pm. If the food can do a flip for the better we will come back as they are next door to the theatre and lots of parking too.
I have stayed at international Perth 22 nights on several separate occasions in last 18 months.the food at this Spanish restaurant is mediocre, what makes the experience worst is LACK of attention by service staff, they don’t look at me also…. Probably they don’t like the my look? I wouldn’t want to subject myself to this… so even if I stay at international several nights I don’t dine here!
Great Spanish food, located at the base of a hotel. Unfortunately the Perth CBD is pretty dead and quiet, we were facing an empty building and a big 'For Lease' sign so atmosphere could be better but staff were super friendly and the food was generous, tasty and great value.
I walked past looking for coffee and found this place by chance.
Great service, lovely looking place and nice coffee.
We went for lunch. The food came quickly after ordering it. Very tasty tapas and nice wine
Very disappointing pre matinee show. We were first in the restaurant.
Overcooked octopus tough and burnt, with lovely cauliflower. We were served after people who arrived later
Four small croquets void of any ham.
Had to remind them we ordered a side salad, twice.
Asked for sweets menu. Only churros, but saw Portuguese tarts on counter on the way out.
Redeeming quality was front maitre de who was attentive.
Don't waste your money. Service is absolutely dreadful, food is average and the prices are expensive.
Seems we weren't the only ones who had a bad experience on a Friday night before seeing a show at the arena.
We were literally ignored throughout the whole visit, even when we got up to speak to someone to ask them to please take our order - the staff walked past us as if we were invisible.
This place needs a serious shake up - it's attached to a five star hotel.
Also, little note to staff, if you are asked for a blanket (as the heaters don't work) don't reply with ' you don't really need one'
Won't be back!
Fantastic food. Very accommodating when our number of guests increased once seated. I would recommend and more importantly I would return again. Service excellent. Food delicious. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Great vibe & service!
Perfect for after work drinks or hang around for a fabtastic tappas dinner
I have been here twice and both times really enjoyed it. Food is delicious and I love the atmosphere. Highly recommend the croquettes and the tuna tartare. Service is a little slow but super friendly.
Relaxed atmosphere, great simple tapas and fantastic location next to the theatre. Both kids and adults enjoyed it
They dont let you split bill unless it is equal amounts and no more than 4
Food is good but not worth the price
Guessing you paying more for their city rent
In 2022 I expect that the 0.3 transaction fee could be absorbed when each person was paying about $100+ each
The wait staff were fabo, food delicious.just a pity about the long wait in between courses. Well done guys.
Non existent service! We had a booking for only 2 hours and 2 hours went bar and half the set menu hadn’t even been delivered. Everything took ages to arrive and was cold on arrival. It took 40 minutes just to bring out olives!
Had Ortiz anchovies paired with a nice and less well-known Spanish wine. Very friendly chef. Great atmosphere for thinking and working.
Got here (coincidentally) just before theatre rush. Staff calm and collected. Classic hotel bar vibes: i.e. Pleasant but impersonal
