Dont usual give bad reviews but i was very unwell and in a lot of pain a couple days ago and this clinic refused to see me even though i had a negative PCR. I was bleeding from both of my ears. Called to book an appointment and was told i needed a PCR done (completely understandable). Had my PCR done and was sent my negative results for all respiratory viruses including COVID the next morning. I called to rebook an appointment and they still refused to see me, even though i had a negative PCR.
I was diagnosed that afternoon at a different clinic with bilateral ear perforations due to sinus and ear infections. They were shocked to hear I was refused entry with a negative PCR.
I am now on antibiotics and healing up nicely, however my treatment was delayed and my infection significantly worse because of this medical centre.

The level of care I receive from start to finish at Helena Valley Medical Centre is outstanding.
Hands down the best GP I have ever had. Dr Head takes the time to listen to my concerns I feel heard and cared for. Front of house staff are always so amazing and so helpful.

I’ve always had good experiences here. Dr Head is fabulous and the reception staff are friendly, helpful, good the extra mile to help you and really care.

I hope that these reviews are acknowledged by the medical centre, as our family have changed our doctors and been coming here since 94, finally persuaded my husband to come here as it was a short wait time, and the doctors all seemed very attentive to there patients, but after 2 misdiagnosis one being serious enough for hospitalisation for three day at Midland hospital and being treated like we have an infectious diseases by the doctor, I am losing confidence in this practice, I can accept that there is no bulk billing, but the doctor patient service is becoming non existent, so I am wondering if it is worth paying the $75 fee we are charged. I have always liked coming here but am seriously thinking of changing practices. Such a shame as you were so different to all the other medical centres.

Had 2 appointments at Helena Valley. The first one was a phone consultation where I got charged $60 for an incorrect diagnosis from the doctor and prescribed medication that caused me to break out in hives and had to go to hospital. Second appointment was to be told to get tested for Covid despite not showing symptoms specific to covid. Went to a hospital for the hives and got told there was no need to take Covid testing due to my symptoms and found out that a simple blood test (something Helena valley had not even thought of) was able to determine what was wrong with me and what I needed to treat my condition. Been coming here for years but Dr. Rosca’s rude treatment towards me and the misdiagnosis here that put me in a hospital is why I won’t be coming back. Wouldn’t recommend.

I and my family have used these medical services on and off for 25 years. I have found Dr Rosca provides an excellent service: empathetic, caring and very helpful.

I found Dr Otiende to be an amazing doctor. I used to see him at beckenham medical centre and was heartbroken when he left. I have been looking for him the last couple of years to become his patient again. The first time I saw him I didn't feel he listened but decided to stick with it and so glad I did as I found he really is a great Doctor who cares. When I had trouble with the health department due to a prescription, he stood up for me and helped me through. I am more than happy to make the half hour drive to see him again. He was the only one who took time at Beckenham to really listen and help me. I am really looking forward to being his patient again.

Dr Minty and the staff are delightful and so very helpful. I've been going for a number of years and until today could not fault them. Todays appointment with Dr Rosca was out of the ordinary for this lovely clinic. Her aggressive, nasty manner left me shaking in tears. I would not recommend seeing Dr Rosca.

Dr Rutherford.

Went to her 3 years ago with extreme fatigue. I was 19 at the time. She told me that it was due to being overweight and inactive. I told her that whilst I understood an active lifestyle increase energy, I was inactive BECAUSE I was fatigued. I asked if we could run tests to see if there was anything else going on. Even a simple iron test would be a good start. She refused, and said that her sons who are my age run marathons, and I should as well.

Since then, I have discovered I struggle with low iron, and recurve iron infusions. This has helped somewhat. However recently I was diagnosed with celiac disease, which compromises my body from absorbing iron. I also was diagnosed with hashimotos, preventing my thyroid to function, equating to fatigue.

I don't blame Rutherford for not diagnosing my condition earlier.as it's been a long process in finding answers to my symptoms. BUT I do blame her for not listening to me and for speaking to be in such a condescending and judgmental manner. As a 19yr old girl, she truly knocked my confidence, and preventing me from seeking further medical advice sooner. I don't expect my GP to have all the answers, but I expect them to listen to me, and not judge me.

If you are wanting a GP that actually WANTS to help you and is willing to hear you out, I don't reccomend Rutherford. Simple as that.

Great doctors surgery, its private so you wont be bulk billed by Medicare unless you ask the doctor personally may it be bulk billed. Besides that, very good.

You cant give 0. Dr James Otiende was the worst Dr i have ever encountered. I have been a patient here for over 20 years and due to the terrible nature of my visits will never be going back. The admin staff and other Dr's were great and not a knock on them.

Dr James Otiende is the best Doctor I have been to in recent years, never rushed and always takes the time to listen to concerns. I can thoroughly recommend him.

My family have been attending this surgery for over 25 years and have always been very happy with all the Doctors and staff. Very professional and caring.

I have to say Dr Otiende was very poor, did not listen to me in the slightest. Dr Rosa was busy that day, but i will be waiting till she is free next time. As he was very disappointing to say the least
