Hay Street Traveller's Inn reviews
29Best check in process, easy and straightforward, the outer door and the room door work with a code
I’ll never stay here again. Had a single bedroom for myself. The mattress was horrible, had springs poking my back the whole time and I have a sore back now. The blanket was thin and small and didn’t keep me warm. I stayed here last week of May and Perth was pretty chilly. A thicker blanket would have been better. The AC seems to be central so I couldn’t adjust the temperature in my room alone.
The walls are extremely thin and I could hear my neighbours talking. Kitchen was dirty, bathroom was dirty (grime) and all could have used a through cleanup.
Only bonus is the location is pretty central and there’s a bus stop close by.
I’ll never stay here again. I’d rather pay a little extra and get a hotel room where the bedding would have been decent and wouldn’t have hurt my back, and would have gotten a cleaner place.
Great place close to the city, and always meeting great people, i would recommend if you are a traveller passing by and got a good experience of this town.
Everything is great for the location, cleanliness, noise control, and good for self checkin. I don't mind for phone call receptionist.
No free coffee / tea / sugar in the share kitchen while I was staying there.
After all its hostel, but sadly its pricey these days.
I LOVE HERE.
The owner is so helpful and kind and the place was the perfect for solo traveler like me.
The stuffs are nice I could make awesome new friends there.
Thank you so much for having me!
The Inn is easily accessible, a three minute walk from bus stops that can take you to and from the airport, and with a local route bus stop right outside.
It’s got all the necessary facilities, including a kitchen, dining and common areas, and a bookshelf for anyone who’s out of entertainment. It’s excellent value for money.
The only issue I had was cleanliness. I can’t speak for the male-, but the female toilet facility could definitely use a thorough clean a little more frequently. Nothing terrible or health-threatening, just some accumulated grime as is bound to happen in a toilet cubicle.
I stayed in a dorm overnight and was gifted a lovely soft blanket for my bed. It just would have been a lot nicer if I wasn’t pulling previous guests’ hair out of it all night.
Overall, the Inn definitely isn’t a 5-star hotel, but if that’s not what you’re looking for then it’s an excellent choice. Great value for money, and friendly staff who are happy to help.
Lovely courtyard. Quiet, peaceful, good value for money. Door codes on front door and room doors, once I got the hang if it worked well. Good mix of male/female and ages.
This was the worst Hostel I've been in Australia. The rooms are okay, but the kitchen is a dirty nightmare and it's in general not a hostel where you want to stay for longer. Of course it's cheap but Is wouldn't recommend it. And Sidefact, the pictures with the pool are old there is no pool.
Room next to the kitchen so was really smelly and.noise also the room doesn't have window's looks like a prison very depressed. Any rubbish around.
Facilities where clean.
The Best place we ever stay.very clean, very well organised the place very near all place we need going, dinner and shopping centre walking distance and have red cat free bus we going to town hall, the owners very humble and so love to helping and very respectful.
Me and my son love to stay since day 1, amazing feeling like stay at u owne home.so comfortable, highly recommended
And we love quite and safe place. Beautiful experience in perth. Love it.love it.
IMPORTANT: There’s no swimming pool anymore. No free wifi. Apart from that, the place is very clean, quiet, nice and spacious.
Air con in the room is marvellous.
Staff is friendly and always willing to help. I would add a recycling bin, as they currently don’t have one. Good location (CAT free bus zone), 1hr from the beach though. Italian restaurant and cafe opposite, 24hours shop within 200metres. I would totally recommend to stay here as it’s great quality for money but If you are looking for party hostel maybe choose somewhere else!
Very cheap, basic room.
The room wasn't very clean, we stayed 2 nights and on our last night we found bugs in our bed.
We told a girl from reception, who checked it and only said she would tell it to the manager.
We then left, because we felt uncomfortable to stay any longer in that room.
Quiet and clean hostel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good location and easy access to red CAT bus and airport bus.
Excellent location in the city. Along free CAT bus route. Lots of eateries and supermarkets around. Room was clean but has a slight stale smell. Perhaps a spray of freshener twice a day can save this.

Nice place to stay, good price, quiet, I been there 3 times in the past years and usually stay there when I travel to Perth
Really good localisation, nice staff, they try to keep it clean all day.
The double room has everything you need except toilet and you can hear everything about the room next door. The twin room is a bit small but nice and clean (but no windows curtains in mine.) with good matresses.
This is a quiet place and I like that. Good prices. I do recommend.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. I needed some paperwork scanned, no problem. For what you pay, the rooms are great and the facilities are good. It can get a bit noisy when residents with no consideration slam their doors. Otherwise a great stay and I will be back.
Very poor service and not flexible at all.
No one could speak English properly what a waste of time. There are plenty of other places to stay in Perth will never stay or recommend this place to anyone. DONT BE FOOLED!
We had a double room and then a twin room at hay street travelers Inn. Everything is more or less tidy, the yard is lovely and the kitchen is spacious and well stocked. Everyone who works here is extremely friendly and we felt very comfy throughout our stay. Thanks a lot for welcoming us to Perth that way!:)
