I recently had an unsatisfactory dining experience at a local restaurant that I feel compelled to share. My party and I encountered an unexpected issue when we discovered insects in one of the dishes. The way the situation was handled by the owner, a middle-aged lady, was disheartening.

Upon bringing the matter to her attention, the owner, rather than expressing any form of apology or attempting to find a solution, insisted that consuming insects was acceptable, citing her rural background as proof of her ability to tolerate such elements in food. Throughout our interaction, she failed to convey any remorse, continuing to wipe tables while repeatedly asserting the edibility of insects.

When we suggested returning the dish, the owner proposed remaking it, an offer we declined, opting instead for a refund of that dish only. Surprisingly, the owner accused us of seeking a refund due to our inability to finish the meal and declared that we were not welcome to return. This response left us utterly bewildered, as her tone suggested that our valid concerns were unwarranted troublemaking.

This dismissive attitude and lack of accountability for hygiene concerns left a lasting impression. I hope that by sharing this feedback, the restaurant will reevaluate its customer service approach and prioritize food quality. Unfortunately, this experience has left us with no desire to revisit this establishment in the future.

PS: Even my 9 years old sister knows talking about insects are edible is ridiculous in this situation. Also, we helped ourselves find the menu. Average food. The young girl in front is much, much better. That's all. (: D) What a wonderful experience! Good luck to people who eat here (: D)

Harvest Lakes BBQ Chinese restaurant such a little gem in Perth. From the friendly staff with there quick and accommodating service, to the owners who run the place fantastically which also cook the fresh quality dishes, the whole experience was just exceptional.
My most favourite part is that they use breast chicken for most of there chicken dishes which is so hard to find here in Perth as usually thigh is the preferred type of chicken in many restaurants.
Dishes to name a few that we tried was chicken satay, honey chicken, chicken fried rice, vinegar chicken, chilli prawn noodles, battered fish, mixed garlic veggie noodles and tasty fried ice cream.
Would highly recommend this lovely spot as it’s value for money as the quantity is more then enough, the taste is outstanding and the atmosphere lovely.

Lovely food and service with a smile. Clean but very quiet on a Sunday night. We'll be sure to return for the seafood fried rice, roast duck, springrolls, honey king prawns - yum!

Bad service experience hence poor star review. Had ordered over the phone and was told 15mins. After 30’mins couldn’t find my food other. And rather rushing to make my order or apologise for missing my order, the lady at the front went to pick up another phone call and made me wait for another 5 mins then proceed to tell the kitchen to make my order.

Got the curry combination ad special fried rice to go. Really good. Shame they dont do delivery of some kind though

The food was good, but the service needs improving. We first arrived and provided our booking information, but was left at the front counter by the casher who served everyone else who came after us. We find it akward and felt invisible. Once seated, the table clothes were torn, and find it hard to get table service.

Came here for Mother's day which i reserved 3 weeks ago. The lady did not greet us when we arrived so I told her we have a reservation. We waited. Then she served four other families who arrived after us. Was it because the other customers were Westerns and we were Asians? Unsure why others were served but we got nothing. Not a single smile or welcome or "please wait".
We had no choice but to seat ourselves as she ignored us the whole time and the place was filling up. We helped ourselves in finding the menu and served ourselves drinks.
I tried to place an order but the same waitress ignored us multiple times. Thankfully a young man served us and the food is good. First impression lasts, please be nice to all your customers.

Delicious sweet and sour fish. Flakey and cooked to perfection. $12.50 with fried rice. A decent serving size! We wanted the fried rice without meat, but there was only peas and egg through it. Would have liked more veggies. Good spring rolls too.

Over charge for purpose. Kindly remind double check bill before you paid. They even charged for chill sauce.

The food was delicious it's been many years from when I had food that good, many thanks to the chef.

Dinner for 9 people dine in and had the $34 banquet. We could not fault the food portions, presentation and time served. Compliments to the Chefs.
The service by the ladies was friendly and nothing was too much to ask for.
Being BYO was also beneficial.
Thank you for making a special occasion enjoyable.

Walked past this place heaps of time but never wanted to try because it always look empty but decided to give it a go today and to my surprise it was actually really good. At least the ones I tried were good. $11 lunch specials honey lemon chicken fried rice and king prawns wat tan hor and the serving portions were just right. I will come back definitely!

Very disappointed with the take away dinner! No taste, felt very rushed, soggy, undercooked and even my 6year old thinks it’s discussing and he loves eating this type of food! If I could give zero star or negative I would!
Not worth the price! I won’t be back!

Enjoyed a black bean sauce & beef meal, also a honey chicken takeaway meal. I will definitely be back again in the near future. Shop lovely and clean plus good furniture.

The food was alright.
I'm not sure if it was because I got takeaway, but the garlic chicken and black bean beef both had at least 80% rice. If not more. Barely any vegetables and meat unlike some of the lovely photos others have posted of plates full of food.

Still for $11 a meal it wasn't too bad value.

Horrible service, no consideration for customer just care about making money and not on customers enjoying service

Sadly very disappointing: (read some of the reviews saying it was good, I guess the chef has changed? The meals have changed price from the online menu meaning what I ordered was $22. For that price I would expect a quality meal with decent ingredients. Not the case, the portion was large, very large but the chicken was rubbery, the gravy was liquid nothing and the noodles were definitely the cheapest money could by. The vegetables were just about edible but mostly tasteless. If the meal had been say $14 I’d might have given it 2-2.5 stars. The saving grace was the lovely waitress lady that served me. I’ve had better meals cooked by students in their kettles. And that would also be more affordable!

Great service Great food great prices 11$ lunches AMAZING yummm yummmm and huge will be back

First time here today for lunch and had a $11 lunch special of their large menu. Food was great the dim sums were the best I’ve had! Nice set up, clean and friendly staff. Will definitely return.
