Harper Hair & Tan Subiaco

My first experience changing my look in Australia was amazing here. Isabel understood perfectly what I wanted and I feel very happy now with the color of my hair, she is the best!

I have been seeing Harper Hair for 8 years and love coming to this salon. Taliya and the team are incredibly skilled, friendly and professional. The salon had a welcoming ambiance, easy parking and a great vibe. My hair is in excellent condition since going to this salon. Would recommend to anyone.

Had my hair coloured here and it was different to what I had requested, however luckily I liked it. The apprentice cutting my hair was quite unapproachable and disinterested, speaking to colleagues the entire time. The aesthetics did not meet my expectations and would not return

I had nothing but a great experience here, they had amazing customer service and really engage in their clients. My stylist was absolutely spot on with what I asked for and after having bad experiences elsewhere Im really happy with seeing this outcome.

My daughter and I visited Harper Hair Subiaco on Saturday afternoon ~3pm after trying to find availability at four other hairdressers (my daughter had sport until early afternoon). By this point we were a bit dejected, losing energy and about to give up. However, even though Harper Hair were closing at 4pm the manager found a way to accommodate us. My daughter had a photograph of the hair style she wanted. The apprentice hairdresser did a wonderful job of listening and matching the desired hair style. My daughter can get overwhelmed, but Harper's personnel were patient and accommodating. My daughter's hair looks lovely, and she is very happy. Thank you for your customer service and kindness.

My hair was super dry so I popped in to ask for recommendations to repair it. The people at Harper Hair were really friendly, seemed super knowledgeable, and recommended a product (that wasn't expensive). After one use I felt a huge improvement. I booked in for a trim and a treatment and I am so happy with the outcome. I definitley recommend Harper Hair.

I now live in Sydney, but every time I come back to Perth I always book in an appointment to see Taliya! I love coming to the salon and Tali always does the most amazing job on my blonde hair! My only wish is that she moves the salon to Sydney haha

The most gorgeous staff so accommodating and love the fact you can see the junior staff members learning on the job. Taliya the owner is the most beautiful human being and will.make you feel like you're catching up for a coffee x

Can I give less than one star?

I attended the salon for a spray tan March 2019. While I completed the client information form it appeared that one staff member was explaining to a more junior staff member the best way to complete a spray tan, or perhaps how best to deal with the faulty gun. I was then led to the smallest spray tan room I’ve ever been in my life, and I’ve been getting tans for over 10 years.
I was then informed that the usual spray gun was not working therefore a staff member brought her own spray gun into the salon. During application the tan was extremely wet and dripping down my legs, it was immediately apparent the gun was not performing as it should be. The staff member offered to clean the wettest areas with baby wipes, and go over those areas. At this stage I was very concerned as to what the end result would be. I wanted all the tan that had been placed on my legs removed. Baby wipes were used to remove the remaining tan as best as possible as well as a towel from the hair salon section. It was then suggested that they could try the broken spray gun they usually use to repeat the tanning process. I explained that baby wipes contain ingredients that interfere with the tanning process (such as moisturizers) therefore any tan placed on top would not allow for the desired result. There was no shower available at the salon and I explained I just needed to get home to shower before the tan was allowed to develop in a patchy mess. I got dressed and left the salon.

During my drive home the salon called and explained via voicemail that the spray gun was now operating correctly and I could return for a complimentary tan. I am so shocked at how poor the service was I would never return to this salon, complimentary service or not.

Lessons learned: don’t go to hairdresser to get a spray tan.
What I hope the salon learns: don’t use inexperienced staff with poor equipment. Instead call the client and explain that the service can not be completed due to faulty equipment!

I was ref to harper hair by paris rose artistry, the only request I had was I wanted dark red color not one with orange tone, I was told once the old color was stripped it should be fine. After nearly 4 hours my hair was orange and when I complained I was told oo it's not orange it's just that the bleach had lighten my hair that's why it was lighter Georgi or Georgina I didn't get her name as No one there interface themselves did offer to put another darker shed if I wanted.when I told the gurl putting color on my hair that can she plz make sure the color is dark enough to cover the patchy work
She looks at me and is hmm I'm just putting what Georgi told me.
12 o'clock and the last girl that washed my hair was the first one to actual have a conversation with me and asked if the water temperature was ok and my hair was this orange brown red kind of color.
It was my first and last time I visit them.
Although they were not rude, they weren't nice either.

I love the haircut Georgia gave me, with so much patience she made it work step by step and made my day!

I had hairstylist Sheriel do a style cut and I am confident to say well exceeds expectations. I felt comfortable and was ecstatic with the haircut. Definitely recommend to all customers

I couldn't ask for a better hairdresser. I always leave feeling so fabulous and like I have hair I could only dream of! On top of this its great service, a great environment, and lovely salon! The best in Perth!

I have been going to Ainslie for years and she is the only person I trust with my crazy long hair! She is super upfront about what is achievable and has made me blonde without compromising the condition and length of my hair. She is also a styling wiz and always ensures i leave the salon looking fabulous! Would highly recommend.
