Been here a few times over the years, staff are always really friendly and toilet blocks are clean. Cabins are simple and clean, beach is awesome.

Really pretty spot. We we're there during school holidays so it was really crowded. Out of season it would be awesome. No internet service.

A great location with beach access. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities were unacceptable - the showers were ancient and completely filthy. There were tons of cobwebs and dead flies on the ceiling and partition walls. The garbage dump is in front of the sanitary facilities. The containers are rusted and already broken. The back walls are partially open so that garbage spills out. Not a clean atmosphere. You should know that there is no WIFI or cell phone reception on the site, but that didn't bother us.

Lots of maintenance needed at the park. Better directions to find cabin in the dark. As first time arriving. No one was available for attendance at night even a phone number. Outside tap leaking water

Good facilities, some camp spots are very private and secluded, protected by the trees. The beach is beautiful.

Beach location in the school holidays are usually full, and this place is no exception. Busy tourist location with Black, Eagles and Spotted rays visiting.

The score is a mix of 5 stars for stunning location and campsite, and negative 5 star for the amenities.
The campground is beautiful, large sites, shaded, and very well protected from the south westerly winds which is a bonus for tent camping.

But the amenities are a different story.
ONE FRIDGE for the whole campground, not an industrial size one but the same size fridge we all have at home (and probably 20yo by the look of it).
ONE freezer the size of one of those hotel room's minibars.cmon there was literally no room for food at all, and nowadays a medium size chest freezer costs less then a grand.
All shopping bags were squeezed and every time we had to get ours out we needed to remove 3 or 4 bags otherwise the whole thing would collapse.
I understand 12v fridges are common in Australia but not every vehicle is equipped with one.
3 sinks and 4 burners outdoor only, only 2 hotplate bbq for the whole thing when every public park in Perth has at least 4+. Always had to wait ages for cooking/washing.
Then the toilet/shower block. The dirtiest we have ever seen in a caravan park.
All in all beautiful spot with great potential but only if you have a caravan or if you eat tin food.

EDIT AFTER OWNERS REPLY
The comparison with parks in the metro area is just an example, even if the park is in a remote location installing an extra pair (as a minimum) of hotplate bbqs is not asking for the impossible.
The caravan park is not small at all, one kitchen block and 2 bbq seems rather insufficient to me.
In terms of 1 star review affecting the business, i believe Hamelin Bay is a well known and very popular location and tourists will visit and stay at your park regardless.
I am sorry to have given a 1 star reviews, but that is what we felt our experience was due to poor amenities.
Hoping to see improved and renovated facilities one day, all the best.

Great staff and excellent location. No phone reception but I think that adds to the experience. Everyone seemed friendly. Definitely worth wasting a few days here to get away from the city.

Nice shady park. LOTS of trees, can be difficult in some sites with large motorhome or caravan, check site size when booking, busy over weekend

One of my absolute favourite places to holiday, but it’s not for everyone.
If you want modern facilities, nicely mowed grass sites and Wifi/phone reception then this is NOT the place for you.
If you want amazing beaches, friendly staff, kid friendly atmosphere and shady (but sandy) sites then this the holiday destination for you.
A great place to take the family, switch off the phone and enjoy a truly beautiful part of the world.
If the ablutions and other facilities were just a little bit better I would give 5 stars.

I contacted Hamelin Bay Holiday Park to book their cottages unfortunately they we're booked out however Narelle took the time to send me details of other nice places close by which I really appreciate.

My partner and I will definitely be staying here when they have accommodation available!

We'd heard amazing things about this place and it still exceeded our expectations! Such a beautiful place to just relax and slow down (but also not far to day trip to neighbouring towns for some tourist action) a great little campground right on the beach, sheltered by peppermint trees. There's a small central camp kitchen but enough BBQs and taps about the place to not really need to go there. A small playground, but the kids spent the majority of the time playing on the beach or in the bush. Super friendly service booking and checking in, we look forward to coming back!
