Hate every part of this place. Can't wait to get out. The school likes to deal with issues by avoiding them, such as bullying. When my little brother gets bullied, action is taken apon him to "protect" him instead of action being taken apon the root of the issue, which are the people bullying. And when will they understand that the people who bully, do not care about the public speakers. It will not convince them.

This school is ridiculous. If students are 30 seconds late for a class, they send parents a text message saying their child is absent or has missed the whole class for each period which creates panic and raises unnecessary suspicion. My son got suspended on a Friday lunchtime for flicking hand sanitiser on another kids leg. We thought the suspension was for Friday and Monday so he went to school Tuesday only to be sent home. So he misses out on 2 days of school just for a silly incident and he is in year 7. I can understand a year 11 or 12 but did a silly thing like that really warrant him missing out on school work for 2 days? And they don't give homework? There's not a lot of hope for kids at this school. Overpopulated and poorly run.

Halls Head College has recently gone downhill. I would say the teachers there are nice, but that's about it. The year coordinators and principal have enforced the uniform a lot harsher this term, which would be absolutely fine, if they hadn't completely abused their power and gone overboard with the whole thing. The faction polo shirt is not to be worn in classes other that sport, and for some odd reason, children are not permitted to wear any sort of undershirts when the uniform policy clearly states that a white undershirt is allowed. It's not just the fact that the undershirt isn't allowed, it's the fact that they care more about that, than teaching people. Keep in mind that this is supposed to be a COMMUNITY college. The worst part about this is the reason they have started this whole kerfuffle. They think that enforcing the uniform will help with pride in the students, and encourage good behaviour. Because of bad behaving students, this enforcement has taken the wrong turn and now more people than ever are skipping class. This is a very unfortunate thing to happen to such a good facilitated school, and I hope they change their ways soon.

Not allowed to wear leggins to school anymore as ‘teachers are being accused of looking at girls’.

They lock school bathrooms during class times, they also lock 3/4 of all the toilets because of vandalism. They shut bathrooms in courtesy of smokers in the bathrooms whereas maintaining students with a bladder who can’t relieve themselves. I feel terrible for cleaners who have to clean preventable messes, (experienced it first hand) and the floor is made up of gum material with some hints of concrete and brick.

Some really great programs for the kids - Sports Academy - soccer, basketball, AFL and netball, Big Picture Academy, options for those to attend both school and TAFE.

TRAINING PATHWAYS AND SSTP PROGRAM

I would like to thank the staff in Training Pathways and the SSTP program. My son Luke graduated last year and went straight into an apprenticeship in Auto Electrical with Charles Hull Contracting and is loving it!

Dirty unclean environment, it comes to my concern that the school only really cares about the image they represent in the community compared to the students. They are only worried about the students attendance and uniform, instead of grades and performance.

This school is dirty and always unclean. It’s especially disgusting in the toilets. There are cigarettes, used condoms and pregnancy tests in there more than often. This environment is inappropriate for students to learn in.

I love this school so so much. The teachers are all really devoted and will to help anyone no matter what race, culture, background or anything. This school gives great opportunities to students such as Tafe, University and VET courses. The school has a great canteen for us students and amazing campus grounds. The school also has something for everyone like outdoor recreation, targeted sports programs, cooking, dancing, drama, arts, photography, wood and metal work. They also have done a great job with math, English, science and HASS because they offer different levels to students like academic and general to help people that aren't doing so great, to improve without having to worry about falling behind. Any problems are taken care of right away and student feel safe at school. I am so greatfull to be going to such an amazing school.
