Gypsy Tapas House

Waited 15 mins to be seated at the table we reserved. Waited over an hour for some meat and bread on a board while the rest of the table all finished their meals. Food was ordinary. Cuttlefish was overcooked and chewy, Service was lacking. I asked for the waitress to check on my food and never saw here again. Music was way too loud and there was constant feedback that sent a shiver down your spine. When paying I was asked how everything was. I said it wasn't amazing and they smiled and took my card without question so they obviously are used to bad reviews or simply don't care once they have received payment. Only time you should go here is if you're planning on breaking up with your girlfriend and don't want to take here somewhere too nice or romantic and give her the wrong idea.

Food is to die for. Did not have one single thing from many dishes and drinks that were anything short of extraordinary. Atmosphere amazing. Service was wonderful, attentive, friendly and intuitive

I get you were trying fill the place with music but the volume was overpowering and I started getting a headache.

Other than that the food a music felt right just adjust the volume so we can still chat and enjoy ourselves

Don’t go here if you want actual tapas, they told us it’s a “fusion” after we gave feedback, their chorizo is just a sausage with no flavour - get better value from coles

Don’t be fooled by the reviews, the outside setting and the services is about the only thing we enjoyed during our dinner here.
Firstly the food was bland and very average, the baked feta looked like it had been taken out of the packet and microwaved, the crab tostadas was like tuna on a cracker, the meatballs were basic, Luke warm, and dry. We left hungry and disappointed as we had such high hopes from the reviews.

Our wedding reception at the Gypsy Tapas House was amazing! The cuisine was more than excellent; it was exceptional, leaving our guests praising the flavors and presentation. The pricing was reasonable, and the atmosphere was electric, with a wonderful blend of ambiance and live music. We planned the event with Mark who was extremely accommodating and highly responsive which made planning stress-free, while John's friendly demeanour and extraordinary setup efforts exceeded our expectations. Lastly, a thank you to the waiters and bar staff; everyone was welcoming, engaged with guests and very attentive to everyone’s needs! This venue made our special day absolutely magical. We wholeheartedly recommend it if you are looking for a beautifully intimate reception!

First vist for a function yesterday evening. Accommodating selection of food. Friendly staff. Pumpkin dip reminded me of a childhood meal. Cosy atmosphere. Will be returning soon

Great meal and service with a solo artist performing, nice romantic setting in the heart of Fremantl with a wide variety of tapas options and cocktails. Loved the spring rolls and bread!

The food we had was quite unexpected but actually quite nice. Every bite I had was delicious. The spring rolls though were very oily. Like a mouth full of oil in your mouth.
I went there to catch up with some family members I hadn't seen In while as I work away and the band starting playing. I love bands but this band was REDICULOUSLY LOUD and we couldn't hear ourselves think let alone talk to eachother. It's really nice when the music is playing and can actually enjoy it in the background and still have a conversation, but we couldn't at all it was that REDICULOUSLY loud

I worked there and i can say it has a great kitchen witch creative chefs. The barkeepers making delicious cocktails and the owners are paying adequate. All the food is made in the kitchen and tastes fantastic. I love to come back to eat there.

Friendly and fast service, delicious food with unique taste and experience and the price was actually very value for money.

Location and staff are nice, but I’m honestly disappointed by food. Good presentation, but I didn’t like the taste of most of the tapas.
I like having live music, but that was too loud.

This place is awesome. Really cool vibe in the courtyard, live music, fairy lights, over hanging vines, lovely. Also had to note that the glasses, tables, and cutlery were high quality and really clean.

On to the food!
We got the Jackfruit Tacos, Moroccan Spring Rolls, and the Cauliflower Croquettas.
The tacos were yum but lacked depth and were small servings.
The spring rolls were unbelievable, could've eaten 20 and were a good serving size. So much depth, were meaty in texture (despite not having meat) and were simply delicious.
The croquettas were elite. Also could've eaten plenty of them. Also a great portion size. So different to the spring rolls but equally moorish and delicious.

Lastly, we had a Sail Away cocktail. So damn good wow. One of the best Rum cocktails I've had and went really well with the food. Shall be recreating at home!

Will definitely be coming back and recommending to others.

We recently went for a dinner in this place for the first time.their food and service quality was indeed very poor. We both had stomach bloating issues as the tapas were not fresh. They had two staff for more than 50 patrons so everything was super slow. To their credit their beef ribs was pretty good.
