Goodlife Health Clubs 24/7 reviews
32I have been them with them close to a year, contract and terms & conditions are NEVER EXPLAINED for member while joining, while joining a verbal statement is told easy peesy … no extras, easy cancellation blah blah! Every month they charge extra 9.99 apart from weekly charges and they don’t have any explanation for this, I called up to cancel the membership and they would charge me a month until it is cancelled! The team should be trained in explaining the new member about terms and conditions, extra charges! It is really unfair to be quite while taking membership and charging as you wish once membership is activated. Terrible
I was a member of Murray Street Club, which closed abruptly without any prior notice except for a vague email amid spam. They transferred my account to Brookfield Place without my approval. The new gym is subpar, with fewer amenities, crowded conditions, and less equipment. Realizing I could cancel due to a decline in service quality, I attempted to cancel on December 20th, but they insisted on a 30-day notice period – a fair policy if at least the conditions from the original club remained unchanged, something that was way far from reality.
Unfortunately, the issue persists as I've been charged for 42 days instead of the 30-day notice period. Despite emailing them more than once days before the last payment, they evaded my question. After visiting the club three times seeking a refund, they offered only a one-week refund, falling short on the 12 days they overcharged me. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and mentioned they still owed me 5 more days, they ignored my concerns. Their approach to membership cancellation and refunds seems designed to make everything as difficult as possible.
This is particularly frustrating as I've been a loyal member for 5 years.
Bottom line: Questionable customer service, limited equipment, space, and amenities – my 5-year loyalty warns: AVOID JOINING THIS GYM.
DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!
I used to work at Goodlife once upon a time but it didn’t matter. This gym has literally swindled a thousand dollars from my bank account. I’ve tried to cancel several times, calling, going into venue and always told we are sorry we will cancel it now for you. Then most recently I went into cancel for the 4th time in 5 months and was told because I was on holiday and missed my terms by a few days they can’t cancel me unless I pay 1/4 of what my membership is worth or just charge me for another 6 months.
They do not care about your fitness, the customer service or helping you achieve your goals. They just want to take ur money, and once they have it they won’t stop easily.
So now I have resorted to blocking the direct debit with my Bank.
Firstly the gym itself is fine and has ample equipment to get the job done. Plenty of squat racks and even new air bikes. I really enjoyed working out at the gym however the management has some work to do.
I visited the gym on January 21 to sign up for a free 5 day trial. Obviously the sales staff wanted to get me to sign up on the day. I informed her of my situation where I fly overseas to work for several months at a time and that signing up to an annual membership was probably not going to work out for me. This is when I was informed that the Brookfield Center accommodates for FIFO employees and allows them to put the membership on hold as well as the discounted rate (I was told the discounted weekly fee was a new years special).
I thought this sounded great but best to email the Center and have this confirmed in writing to avoid any contractual problems in regards to this arrangement in the future - since the draft paper work had said otherwise. I had received the reply in writing (email) that my membership can be paused for as many times as I liked. Upon receiving this email, I signed up to the gym as everything appeared in order.
After 11 months of pausing my account on and off without question from various staff members, it suddenly became a problem and I was informed I could not pause it again. They claim this was a mistake by one individual who has since being fired, even though multiple staff had paused my account before. I figured fair enough then, I'll close my membership, however I was then informed I needed to pay a $195 cancellation fee since I did not have my account active for the full 12 month term. I requested that my fee is waived due to the fault of the sales person however I was told no multiple times and pretty much blamed for the error.
It seems the Center manager put all this on one individual that has since left the company and appeared to wash her hands of any responsibility, passing it off to me the misinformed and coerced customer.
It didn't seem right to be charged a cancellation fee for something that was entirely a Goodlife employees mistake or straight out dishonest sales tactic.
In the end I waited until my calendar anniversary date which was 12 months from sign up and they closed my account without a fee. Lucky for me they could not work out how long I had paused my account.
So just be aware the contracts are very difficult to move around even if you have evidence in writing.
Guys when you going to cancel your membership PLEASE be sure that you will receive an email from the GYM. I went there two months ago and receptionists told me that my membership is cancel - and guess what, it wasn't. I went there today and manager told me there is no evidence about that so he can only help me cancel my membership now and then charge me one month again. Just like that. It's not my job teaching staff how do their job and I'll pay 0 even more you owe me money now guys.
After a year of paying membership and not once setting foot in the gym (entirely my fault) there's a 30-day notice period before they'll stop charging me, despite having recieved free money from me for such a long period of time, and me not having any intention of setting foot in the gym at any point in the future, pretty poor effort that you can't just cancel, pay the week you owe and be done with it.
Limited machines (no glute machines), good cardio equipment, quite messy (plates not in available locations), excellent staff, not very tidy.
Highly unresponsive reception regarding termination. Easy to enroll tough to end membership. It took turn 3 weeks to respond to me even though I did multiple follow ups.
Great place to workout. Ample space and good studio. Got all the necessary equipments needed to get those fitness goals completed. Staffs are friendly too.
The small group classes are excellent and about all I participate in at the gym. Trainers are always on time and positive.
Male changing room could do with a bit of maintenance (broken lockers, old bench seat, showers cleaned more regularly)
Just their showers are disgusting.infested by tiny flies. And their shower water pressure is unbelievably low and water barely coming out. Getting cold while taking hot shower. And the toilet paper dispensers are installed so low, whoever installed them obviously didn't think anything at all how this works. Quite a mission to get the paper out of it. Those have been like years and they never even bother to fix. One of the lowest maintained GYM in Perth. I only come here because when Murray st gym is closed.
Great gym to use lunch time's. Love the group training sessions with their amazing instructor's. Always make you work hard.with a smile!
Small in size and less sports equipments to exercise. The ventilation is very bad specially after hours.
A general problem is the kubo fitness access that’s not addressed since a couple of months now.
Good variety of equipment, aircon not too cold, modern equipment and decor, very clean, it looks small but it doesn’t
feel small somehow, I do go on weekends though haha
Very average gym with way more cardio equipments than strength equipments, it does not get crowded on cardio area don’t understand why there’re less strength equipments and more cardio equipments since very few use them
Huge gym. Great facilities. Imagine it gets busy because of location. Was quiet when I visited over Xmas.
Showers have very low water pressure. Getting cold while taking it. Very uncomfortable please fix!
Gym is a bit run down. Staff are OK but I would not use most of the personal trainers because I have seen their coaching and frankly it was not right. A personal trainer should be in top physical condition and provide inspiration. The women personal trainers are such people but the men not so much. They need new and modern equipment. The whole place needs a make over
Tried to do the 5 day free trial to test the gym. Very poor experience in terms of management. After sitting down for 15min and going through the introduction on their surface pro I thought that was the 5 day pass activated. Silly me. Paul advised that it required a 30 min consultation, which they were going to do after my class but I had to get back to work. When I queried what this would have involved, he said- basically to sign you up on a membership programme! Tell me, who is going to sign up after trialling 2 days out of the 5 days of the gym? Apparently it is limited to 4 classes -they did not tell me this nor is it in their terms and conditions. After going through the pricing, the manager Paul actually questioned when that happened, and was corrected by his staff that it did happen. Completely unapologetic. Small gym, packed during lunch times, classes are very limited (2 classes 30min or 45mins during lunch times, 1 class at 645am and 1class at around 6pm), and also very crowded with poor ventilation- along with the rest of the gym, and it just feels and smells especially unhygienic. Just smells like body odour through and through. The equipment was crammed in and very close to each other -not a lot of wiggle room! I wouldn’t go to this gym even if it was free. Such poor communication and really pushing you to sign up after 2 days. Can barely breath in there! Packed like sardines. I would personally not recommend this gym.
This has been my day to day gym for 8 years.used to be fitness first, now goodlife.and the flexibility of using any of their gyms and 24hr opening is just fantastic! Highly recommend this gym in Perth.
