Good Sammy

Look, I love op shops so much and love supporting. However, this Good Sammy’s seems to be the worst I’ve gone to. The staff are horrible. One time I went in there with headphones in as I was on the phone. One of the older workers came near me while I was looking at picture frames and started mumbling under her breath about me not moving for her… she also continuously spoke bad about me while doing so… even though I was simply looking and didn’t do any harm. Another time, this Good Sammy’s priced a gym top for $15 when the price tag that was hidden in the shirt said it was $10. When I told the staff about it, they refused to give it to me any lower than $10. I had recently gone in there, the prices have increased by a lot. Belts are now $4.50… they used to be $3. Tops used to be cheaper as well, I think they are now $6.50 or $7 instead of $5… I’m sorry but I’m not going to spend $7 on a top that is from Kmart. Very disappointed. I love Good Sammy’s overall… but the price increases genuinely shocked me, especially with this economy. Yet alone, also bad customer service.

I had purchased unknowingly a gold seal item n staff member didn’t remove the seal. He mistakenly put down my item as top instead of dress. I didn’t check my receipt as it was closing time at 5 on 1/9/2x when I got home, I wanted to remove price tag n noticed the seal. I returned to the store the next day on 2/9 Sunday. The cashier recognised me from day before n called the manager to authorise removing the gold seal. Bec the manager did not acknowledge me, and I repeated that I needed seal removed as staff had forgotten to do it day before. She gave me a rude stare n raised her voice that in future she will not remove it as the receipt does not match my item. But she will do it today as she trusts me but not in the future.
Clearly she was deflecting her staff’s mistake. I truly appreciate that Good Samy employs staff with disabilities including their manager. However, it’s not my fault if the staff mistakes a top from dress; and forgets to take the seal off. I do not appreciate being told off rudely n loudly. We love to support by donating n purchasing from Good Samy. I’m a resident from this area for more than 20 years. Everyone has a bad day now n then but I do not appreciate going into a store to get yelled at.

Rude staff. Zero customer service, Turn me off coming back.especially now jeans are ten dollars. Overpriced items like kmart jumpers more expensive than when buying from kmart

In response.no, there were 2 people at the counter. One a manager and the other a young man. Both were rude and dismissive. No.the jeans were not a brand and also had a hole in the stitching. Obviously I am not alone as previous reviews reflect this. Customer service is an important factor when shopping at any store. If you cannot train the staff correctly you will receive negative reviews.

I agree. Very rude male staff (one of the regular) at the counter. There was only 1 sign says children’s book 50 cent each. But I’ve being insisted charged $1 because it’s a relatively bigger book? ! I don’t mind paying more as long as it says so, but with the overriding attitude that’s so unbearable for customers to return. I regretted even more when I politely said thank you after a horrible service. Can anyone believe that he just walked with a snort instead.

We just went to the shop this afternoon. We were just shocked with the cashier’s attitude at this place! We have been to other OP shop, but I don’t think we got treated this way before. He was mumbling to us and we couldn’t hear, so I said “sorry? ” then he just told us “$20! ” then shook his head. And as we were leaving, he muttered and cursed some horrible words to himself knowing that it was aimed at us. What’s wrong with this place? ! We won’t be returning AGAIN! Very disappointed.

Op shop retailers in this space have been ego over value scratching with the sharpie on label for too long.

Overpricing everything takes away the 'opportunity' from the shopper and the length of time sitting on the shelf negates the recycling purpose.

I've was ashamed today of how they treated me very bad customer service I will never come back I was doing something nice giving my old clothes to them but I will never do that again

Good store. Cheap clothes. Neat and tidy. However terrible customer service. The Asian male in front looked extremely bored and annoyed. He treated all the other customers bad as well as me. Didn't listen to what anyone was saying and just assumed what they were trying to say and kept repeating himself. Very very rude and arrogant way of speech. I have volunteered in op shops before. This is not how staff should behave. If a staff member does not want to talk to customers or does not have customer service skills, they should not be placed in a role where they have contact with customers.

Was told by Jordan at the cashier to “take my change and get lost”! Jordan was terribly rude to the customer in front as well. He was mumbling and grumbling to himself like every one passing through had offended him. What is wrong with this place? !

They can be a little bit pricey, but nowhere nearly as expensive as the Salvos up the road. Most of the staff are fine.

Jordan was a very lovely assistant and was able to help us out easily at the checkout. He was very polite and courteous. I hope he serves us again next time we visit:)

Cool place nice big areas to roll a pram through while little one is sleeping, change rooms small however. Used to have a large good selection of bric a brac, that has changed now to allow for more of a range of men's clothes which is a plus when shopping with the hubby.

Always interesting and I love fossicking through the miscellaneous boxes. A good shop for those after books and a selection in large print for those with low vision. They get some lovely furniture, kitchenware, clothing and accessories all at fair prices. Staffed by friendly volunteers who are keen to help find what you are looking for.

Very over priced for a second hand store, the reason people shop at these stores is because they can't afford new.

Hive of activity heaps to browse through nic nacs, clothing recycled and new, something for everyone

I have been to this store many times, in general the selection is large and they have a good turn over of items so you will see new stuff every month or so. The store is quite cluttered, staff and manger can be unfriendly. Price is good and comparable to the quality of most items.

I never receive a greeting. If I do make a purchase there's no customer service, just take money and shove change and receipt into my hand. I guess I keep going back to see if that changes.not to date.

Lovè these stores even if I dont buy anything I find something interesting and when I have bought they've been bargains.

Great place to quickly pop in and find some great stuff at incredibly low prices. The atmosphere can be a little cold, but it's worth it for all the money you're saving

I like the way good Sammy staff member are treating customers, it's amazing. I visited many times in your different stores in Western Australia. I am happy with your service.really yeah.
