Golden Wattle Bakery. reviews
40This place is rubbish. Young girl with black glasses and braces was very rude. The eftpos machine crashed and we felt like it was our fault. Find another place to eat.
Honestly the worst pie I've ever had. The pastry was dry and soggy at the same time. The other food was fine.
Don’t bother stopping here. The food was ordinary. No coffee available at 1: 45 in the afternoon, the coffee machine had been turned off. I have never met anyone as rude as the woman who served us.
We only bought coffee from here, while just passing through.
I have black no sugar.
Don't bother with the coffee, instant would've been better.
Very average, greaseball food, and very rude and condescending service from the awful woman at counter. Try at least pretending you could care about your customers.
This place would never survive in the other towns in this area.
Yummy pastries, friendly staff, great prices, great range of sandwich/rolls, coffee available, yummy cakes
Fast service. The food in the cabinets looked great. We had a variety of pies, breaky roll and a selection of cakes.
Coffees were good and the bakery pastries were delicious. Definitely one of the best bakery’s I’ve been to this far south.
The Turkish Sandwichs were great, the staff friendly, however the coffee was the worst I've had in Australia so far, maybe go to the Cafe next door for coffee.
Had a steak sandwich from here last Monday. It was really good. Everything was fresh and good value.
Best Jam doughnut on the South Coast Hwy.
Had a great pepper steak pie too, genuinely think thus bakery gives the Denmark one a run for its money and the price is much more reasonable.
Best bakery in town haha - but also really enjoy everything we get from here from the breaky, pies and sweets!:) popular stop for lunch for many heading north too
The most amazing Nutella Cheesecake! I loved it so much last time I was here that I added it to my list of things to do this visit. Again awesone and made on site.
Don’t recommend calling in here! Horrible service, dirty, not welcoming at all. Love Walpole but this was a bad experience.
Committed staff. Fast service. Huge variety of food. Most of it delicious, especially the egg sandwich, burgers and Turkishs. Also Great bread. Only thought, it maybe could do with a fresh new look and signage, a makeover maybe. The dine in area looks a little outdated.
Got my order wrong and when I went to get it corrected, the. Lady at the till said no and refused to make me another. Took my money. No refund, no food, nothing. Out my money with no food. Horrible. Pretty much stole my money!
Ordered some pies and 2 Flat Whites, lady at the counter gave us 1 Skim FW then told us we couldn't order another because they have a $10 min and didn't offer to correct the mistake either.
I had a coffee and sandwich from here. Both were nice as were the staff. However, they were closing so I can't tell you about variety as the shelves had been emptied. I don't think you could go too wrong here though.
Vietnamese homemade braised beef pie is amazing! Please, you have to try this. We bought the last 5 beef pies straight off the shelf. Hardworking people. Service is fast and efficient because it gets busy at peak hours. They will take your order while also preparing coffee or food for another customer, so no time for small chats or smiles. They deserve 5 stars for their delicious food. Visited this bakery again and again during our stay in Walpole. Also, we brought a pie up Mount Lindsey. YUMS.
If you're ever in Walpole, give this place a WIDE birth. They refused to give me hot water for a cup of tea after we'd bought breakfast. For the record, the egg and bacon roll was choc full of mayonnaise, not usually what you get in that type of roll but whatever. I went to the BP Service Station right next door and was given some hot water in my mug with a friendly smile. I won't say they're racist at the bakery but, you know, they are. No wonder the butcher wants to get out of their way. Just don't go there!
The broccoli pie was delicious. Really nice cheddar flavour through the sauce and the cheese layer on top was thin and crispy (not oily like they can be). The chunks of broccoli still had a nice firmness to them. The only component that could have been better was the pastry which was a little soft and undercooked in the bottom, but it still held together well.
