Golden Eagle Chinese Restaurant reviews
20I had declared I would never eat here again 15+ years ago and I wish I had followed through. The satay isn't any form of satay I have seen before. It was edible but not enjoyable. What looks like a big serve is mostly sauce with a small amount of beef and onion. Spring rolls meh, edible but not enjoyable. Expensive given the low quality. If you are stuck in Kalamunda and hungry still don't bother, there are other options within a short walk.
Ordered satay squid and satay prawns n special fried rice. Couldn't eat the squid taste was dreadful. Prawns were not cooked properly and rice was tasteless. Rang the restaurant and informed the sauce was different and were sorry but not refunded. Cost $70. Not going there again.
Have ordered takeaway twice in the last month from Golden Eagle. On both occasions the quality of the food has been excellent. Great value for money!
Got the seafood char kway tao with chilli it was delicious, will be going for another.
Good serving, good amount of seafood, fresh vege, tasty cabbage, a little sweetness in the sauce yet balanced with moorish flavour.
Value was ok
But guys, please read your other reviews, there is next to no chicken in your honey chicken. The meal was average.
I will try again
But hopefully the game is lifted somewhat
Almost funny how bad this place is. No doubt the worst Chinese food I have ever had in my life and I've tried alot. Just an example in the honey chicken was almost entirely batter
The quality of the cooking has really improved recently and the meals taste great. Plenty of fresh vegetables (chop suey is my favourite), boneless lemon chicken, garlic king prawns &
Salt & Chilli Squid are all very enjoyable & generous meals.
The food is always great quality and consistent. It is very well priced and a favourite stop for us. I just love the sweet and sour fish.
Let's be honest.there's not much in Kalamunda. This Chinese punches well above it's weight, never had a bad meal since Jenny took over from her uncle. Actually it's the best Chinese I've had since Hong Kong. Get in
What a joke! Couldn't even taste the damn food because of how hot it was, and when it did cool down, the chicken tasted like soft rubber. "fresh? " vegetables? More like fresh out the microwave. Not surprised it was empty.
Nearly $50 for some veggies, a chicken dish, “special” fried rice and beef satay sticks. What a joke. Two pathetic excuses of satay sticks. Two. Wow so generous. Veggies and chicken dish were the most generic Chinese take away dishes I’ve ever had. I can cook better at home… because a microwave instant dinner would have been more tasty and wouldn’t have required me to leave the house.
Pretty sure the satay chicken gave me food poisoning, didn’t even taste good, so there wasn’t any winning.
Honey chicken dry flavourless.
Rise tasted like microwave rice.
Only good thing it took 15min… guess that’s how long it takes to re-heat food from last week.
Absolute rubbish. Ordered special fried rice amongst other dishes. Terrible.
17 dollars for rice and peas. No chicken, no egg, no nothing. Men's toilet smelled horrendous. I guess there's a reason it was empty. Don't waste your money.
Service was excellent, friendly staff and to be honest food was tasty and good! Would recommend to my mates!
Excellent food the new owners are making a good job and my party all enjoyed a regular visitor now
Good quality Chinese food, the Chinese BBQ pork is our go to dish, always good with special fried rice. This isa take-away restaurant that's open on a Monday night too which is always a bonus.
Love the food. My 1st choice.usually. But no delivery available in Covid times! Really? Weird. Lucky the 2nd best will deliver. I am truly amazed!
We bought chicken chow mien and 2 prawn chow mien and 2 special fried rice and 2 bags crispy noodles. …we paid almost a hundred dollars for this …. The meals were just ok … but the fried was basically just boiled white rice, bland and uninviting …. And the crispy noodles tasted horrid stale and soft … will not be wasting any more $$ here … can find better, cheaper Chinese and closer to home ¬! Very disappointed!
Items on the menu are western style Chinese not the traditional Chinese and I still love it! This is not the cheap Chinese take away option so expect to pay a little bit more BUT you can also expect a tasty dish, good serving size and lovely service staff. Honey chicken and sweet and sour pork are my favorite. They do take away and dine in.
