Globe Coffee House Patisserie & Restaurant reviews
55Have been here a few times, plenty of seating options, counter service, food is good. Ordered the ocean plate which comes as an entree but is enough for a main meal. The pumpkin salad is delicious and filling. Have also ordered the grilled prawn salad - on this occasion it was busy and it took 30 minutes for it to come out without an apology for the delay. On the menu it lists carrot and snow peas as an ingredient and both of these were missing from the dish. It was a bit spicy and there was way too much dressing on the salad, didn’t enjoy this visit or meal at all. The only good thing I can say is there were a decent amount of prawns in the salad.
Went there on Friday evening for dinner.we had been once before and enjoyed our meal but this time we were very disappointed, especially after saying how great it was. My son had the seafood and his scollaps were overcooked and he didn’t like his fish at all. He was ver disappointed in his meal. My friend had the pumpkin soup and it was tasteless and she had to ask for some cereal to pour over it. My friend’s husband had the parmigiana and the crumb was a bit overdone. I was lucky and had the garlic prawns and they were yummy and my daughter in law had lamb shank which she said was delicious. The garlic bread was als tasteless Overall a disappointing evening that was hyped up to be a great place.
Really impressed with Globe.had lunch with family today.one had the wagyu beef burger and the other had the parmi, I had the ocean catch. All food was enjoyed very much by us all, especially the seafood. Very reasonably priced for what you get, also got an espresso martini for a very affordable 14.50, and it was just as nice as the ones I've had that were closer to $20. Would definitely visit again.
Lunch date with school friends. Noticed most Patrons were retirees also. Chairs not very comfortable and tables too close. Hard to get in and out of table setting. It was a cold and wet day but we were feeling cold by time coffees arrived. Staff were friendly and service good. Chicken and mushroom Risotto was generous and tasty as was Beetroot salad. Had to take half home. Happy to visit again albeit will select benches.
Beautiful presentation, despite being a menulog delivery.
The staff went above and beyond, both front and back if house, couldn't be more satisfied or Impressed.
Will definitely be back and no problem recommending with a 5star rating from us
I love Globes bacon and egg sandwich with coffee for only $9.90. Sandwich is made to my order with a runny egg as I want it cooked. Delicious. Plus usual great flat white beautifully decorated by barista, Eta.
Both food and service were outstanding. I had the Ocean Plate - grilled fish, prawns, scallops and calamari, with creamy mash and salad. Jeannie had the salmon poke bowl. Both delish! Good serving sizes and reasonable price. Will be back.
Out of all the cafes this is my favourite one in Angelo Street.
I found the service is great as always. And its does make a difference when getting drinks and food promptly on time, excellent.
Nice atmosphere and surroundings.
The food was excellent and drink perfect.
Thanks for a wonderful experience
I had the $21.90 pasta on a Monday. It was full of chicken, sundried tomatoes and olives. The portion was generous. It also came with a glass of house wine and a small cake! I chose a humongous cookie! Other people enjoyed the risotto, curry, Parmi and ocean catch. All delicious!
The milkshake was on par with McDonald’s. The breakfast looked good on the other table so I had my expectations high for the other things like pasta. Turns out, Gordon Ramsay is right. Bland, no seasoning, no care, and wasted $19 for penne pasta with dry chicken and bland spicy sauce.
Food was just terrible. The feta cheese seems to be off, the avocado wasn’t fresh, they added a lot of seasoning that was just too much. I couldn’t finish my plate, torture. The cold press juice comes from a bottle nothing special about it.
Love this place! Admittedly have only used them for Uber Eats and not been in store but the food and serving portions are 10/10! I’m not sure how to describe it but it’s kind of like how food used to be? Excellent quality & wholesome, particularly their cheeseburger mmmm, simple but sooooooo good!
There was something of what I guess would be a rush for a country town so there was a wait. But oh how the coffee redeemed that. It really was excellent. Well done baristas!
Couldn’t find one vegan option.
The manager has since got back to
me and said the have a vegan burger and salads. Not very adventurous…but at least it’s something. The friendly staff were also mentioned-I found them a bit indifferent to my wanting vegan options. Might have been a bad day for the people I spoke to.
I can’t describe how terrible the food here was! Seriously lovely service - but the food was beyond bad - we couldn’t eat it and left. Perhaps the chef was having a really bad day because I can’t understand how this business is operational serving food like this! Yuck yuck yuck
We got our coffee and drinks pretty fast but it took nearly an hour before our meals were brough out
First time here & won't be the last. Food was amazing, staff were amazing. Lovely atmosphere
As a couple that have breakfasted out on Sundays for many years Globe in Angelo is the best. Small things like 2 Lurpak butters standard and good coffee compliment the service and pleasant surroundings.
Arrived at 6pm, bought coffee to dine in. The coffee was burnt and barely palatable. I asked for the chicken pie on display in the food cabinet, to be told 'you can only have the pie as a takeaway, we can't serve this to you in the restaurant, other than at lunchtime. ' I asked why, to be told 'that's the rule. ' What utter bull.
In response to the owner:
Nice try, but your attempt at minimising your ‘only at lunch’ nonsense, is feeble. If the item is not for sale, why is it on display next to your till?
As for your spurious claim, I shouted at the young girl, what a pathetic attempt at subterfuge! There was a table of 4 sitting in front of the counter, two of those people I know well, and would dispute your assertion.
I had the grilled barramundi, it was grilled beautifully. The little potatoes were tasty too.great value for money also great service
