gillies fish & chips reviews
16 No idea why the reviews are so low? Towny yuppies expecting Himalayan rock salt on their chips?
Great good and great service. Prices are reasonable.
Worst fish and chips we’ve ever had. Squid rings were off, even the smell was disgusting. Everything was overcooked and inedible. A couple of things I ordered weren’t even included in the order.
Ordered a family meal on door dash - said 40 mins to pick up. Attempted to pick up, was told the order was not ready, told on 2 occasions it was going to be ready in 10 minutes. Other customers returning their orders. We cancelled our order. Extremely disappointed
There was a reason it wasn't busy because it was the worst by far of any fish and chips I've had anywhere.chips were scabby batter was terrible and the squid rings and fish were inedible.even the seagulls were hesitant on eating it.juice boxes for kids were put in freezer whilst we waited for our order to get cold but that didnt achieve anything.would not recommend
Worst chips ive ever had they were soggy and full of oil like they have been soking in warm oil all day the fish was very average like it was brought from Woolworths or coles, maybe it was frozen and not fresh fish the batter was flourery, the squid was cooked too much it was like eating rubber
Literally the worst fish and chips I've ever had. I wish I took a photo. Wrapped the whole family picnic in one bag. Squashed everything. Opened it up and it was all crumbled. Batter was super floury and had a weird tang to it. Even the cans of coke were over a year and half out of date. And here's the best bit. Cost me 70 bucks. Absolute rip. Do yaself a favour and go elsewhere.
We enjoyed a lovely feed of fish and chips. The sweet lipped snapper was thick and moist and substantial in portion size. The chips were tasty. Prompt service. Would go there again.
Amazing crispy chips, fresh pine apple fritters, the batter wasnt too oily and the staff were great conversationalist. The art work thats is up for sale adds an extra bit of value to the places. Good prices and very welcoming
Glad we stopped in here. Service was great an the seafood basket for 2 was greater! Fish cooked perfect. Thank you Mr
Lady at the counter was so rude and extremely judgemental. I ordered $4 worth of chips and a piece of shark but there was none, so I got fish instead. This is what I got. There is a small bit of chips and some fish, the chips were over cooked but the fish was nice. But this was not $14 worth of food I’m very disappointed.
If I could give this so called fish and chip shop a half a star I would.do yourself a favour, go somewhere else
Being generous offering 2 stars. Very small portion of chips and just wish wasn’t right. Tasted like fresh water import and was supposed to be WA wild caught snapper.
Stopped in for a late lunch and did not regret it. This quirky little chippie punches above its weight in the quality of the food. The batter is crisp, the cooking oil/ fat is clean and they have gluten free options. Also seating out front. The extras such as vinegar and cut lemons are a bonus.
Omg.i dont usually do this but seriously.
1. Phone service.sat with my sister as she ordered.person on the other end was not paying attention, couldnt read it back.
2. FOOD.parts of the order missing.parts of the order mixed up
some overcooked
some under cooked.most of it in the bin and pizza ordered.
Will never return or reccomend.
Lovely staff, had a chat the whole time food was cooking. Order $10 chips, dim sims and potato fritters. Yummy food not to greasy. Feed the family.of 5 for $20. Just what we needed to warm up our bellies after walking on the Jetty In the rain. Thanks guys
