Gilbert's Fresh Market

Paid for 414g of sunflower seeds but only got 339g. Was scammed. Weigh everything and trust nothing. Maybe another matter for the ACCC.

This market exceeds our expectations for its choices of vegetables and fruits, not to mention snacks, sauces and others. It's quite comfortable to walk around and it's great that it opens till 7pm everyday which is great and convenient.

Love the way the place keeps updating itself with different varieties. Hope they keep more Asian Vegetables too.

I bought fruit salads already cut and in
cartons for Xmas breakfast, only to find the fruit wash off and had to throw them away.

Good selection of products and produce. Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. This store is an icon and a firm favourite of the locals.

Gilbert provides varieties of fresh Asian vegetables that one may not find in other supermarkets. Slightly pricier but the quality of freshness is what the buyer is looking for. The aircon was comfortable. The aisle is spacious. Voila! Cheers! (2022-02)

Food and produce was excellent. Variety is more than perfect. High quality produce. The best and most wonderful customer service. Staff is great. New produce weekly. Come on down to the best fruit and veg store.

Terrific range of quality fruit, vegetables that is always fresh, lasts well and always well priced. Has an excellent deli range and their homemade meatballs are to die for! Have shopped with them since they first opened at Southlands. They support local and Australian growers/producers wherever possible. Staff are friendly and always helpful.

I buy most of my fruit & veges here as everthing is so fresh and very high quality. Much better than supermarkets. Would give 5 stars if they left trolleys to use. Trolley bay always empty and no trolley santising equip. Our health & safety is very important. This is a small cost and and important area for improvement.

I have never been disappointed with the quality and freshness of the produce.
I always try something new, and the shortbread was this week's treat.loved it.
Oh and the apricot, macadamia squares will be a regular purchase.
I am moving out of the suburb shortly I wish you would consider a store somewhere in Haynes or surrounding districts

Excellent fruit and vegetables so far since I have shopped there a few times. Lovely other items too, like pickles, salads, sourkraut, nuts, chips etc. Prices reasonable especially when you get quality.

However I am not really happy that many of the items like Turkish delight, nuts, chocolate coated nuts etc are not priced. Why not? I would have actually purchased some today if it had been.

Service good at the checkout too.

I want to add to this review I made after I got home. After eating the MEAT Aracini I bought in the deli there I would say.pls don't! There was no meat whatsoever! False advertising for even suggesting it contained meat. Had to throw most of it away. It meant i took away one of the stars!

The worst expirance i ever had. Not only impolite, unprofessional, rude, hostile, but refusing to resolve the problem. An adult lied through her teeth. Nice in front of manager who was backing her up but if he heard her i wonder. This is how to keep custemers away.

Unfortunately it has changed. Produce doesn't seem as fresh and not keeping well. Still may pick up a few items but not as much as we used to.

This used to be my go-to F&V shop but the quality has dropped while the prices remain steep. They used to have all sorts of quality imported and local fruit to keep up the variety but no such thing these days and the fruit that is there is pretty B-grade unless you sift through

Waiting in line was told to go to end of que which we did and then another person came along went to front of line and was put through one rule for one the the other for the rest of us. If a line system in place needs to be policed not because the person on teller knows them and lets them go through ahead of the rest.

Offers a great variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Good collection of specialty cheese and snacks.

Ice cream made on the premises that tasted great. Fabulous range of fruit and vegetables, cold meats, cheeses, bread baked on the premises, nuts, sweets, pizzas and soooooo much more. Well worth a visit!

All of Gilbert's vegetables, fruits and foods are fresh, affordable and plentiful.

The pre-made Greek salad is nice when its fresh but you do need to check the date as they always have old pre-made salads sitting there. They charge $6.99 for the salad which is supposingly 500g but when I weighed it after getting home with the packaging it is just above 400 grams so clearly customer is getting ripped off.
UPDATE: Since putting up my post, Gilbert Fresh is now filling the container to the correct weight of 500grms but in doing this they have now raised the price to $7.99. Very cheeky of them. Me and my family will no longer buy from them.
