Geraldton Regional Hospital reviews
38Blood test. I have difficult veins. I was referred to the "opposition", and they had 4 unsuccessful attempts in one morning. Left it for a few days till the bruising subsided. Went to the Regional, and the young lady took a sample immediately. I was back home in 25 mins, with just a tiny bruise. Well done Geraldton Regional Hospital staff, again.
Never have I ever been to such a disgusting hospital. I have needed an ambulance twice now for sudden fainting and seizures for the first time. First ambulance the man YELLED at me “don’t do that” when I fainted again when he was aiding me to help. Get put in the waiting room for 5 hours, esg is fine so I tell them I want bloods done and get told to go see my gp then! No one is seeing new patients and there is on AVERAGE a 6 week wait! Faint 5 times & have a seizure for the first time in my life, and get chucked back in the waiting room for 5 hours. Have had to bring my daughter in for getting bitten at daycare and it BROKE the skin & get told it will be put at the bottom of the list and it will be hours & hours wait. Never by far have I ever been treated so disgustingly. You’s should all be bloody ashamed of yourselves.
Amazing nurses and I would like to thank Dr Whitt and Dan who operated on my leg you guys are amazing Thankyou to all that helped care for me you are all such special people.
The receptionist at day surgery here shouldn’t be allowed to work with unwell people! She’s very unfriendly, unhelpful and angry at everyone. She’s very Ṟüḏë and needs to go if she hasn’t already, she’s stopping people from having surgery, head office needs to call and pretend to be a patient and they will find out just how bad she is.
Well not many institutions deserve five stars except Geraldton Regional Hospital.
Pre-pandemic “Our Hospital “was in many areas administered without a lot of efficiency nor caring. I had an operation then …and yesterday I had another similar procedure.
What’s changed? …well just about everything. The efficiency from all staff, the level of caring, procedures, transparencies of processes, security.
How did all this happen? Why are the staff so friendly, happy and always ready to help and assist patents? Usually it occurs with good management that will set down a process that will clearly outline……”If you don’t want to help …. Then get out of the way “.
Whatever… I personally just want to say …Thank you.
Its amazing how the admin staff treat foreigners in here! I’ve been living in WA for 5 years and they wanted to put my address from my home country? (Thats where theyre gonna send the bill) I have private health insurance, I was in severe pain and vomiting and they couldn’t care less and let me wait and sit there like its nothing.
However the doctors and nurses were very good and helped with the issue… admin staff unfortunately you guys are shocking! Shame.
Regularly visit for scans and physio and have also had several short stays recently. Wonderful nursing staff and auxiliary staff and caring doctors. Grateful to be helped by such a knowledgeable and positive group of people across a wide field of health care!
Left my husband in excruciating pain for no reason givingvhim opiates when he is on opiate blockers sending him into withdrawels he has a broken leg
The staff are incredible. I've received treatment at private hospitals here and in Perth and the staff here provided some of the best care I've received during very difficult times. Highly recommend and much gratitude to them all.
I was treated with care and respect from when I arrived in Emergency, to when I left the hospital a week later. The staff were wonderful. Thank you
For what appears to be an understaffed Regional Public Hospital, the staff at Geraldton Regional Hospital are absolutely amazing. I have visited the ED here on several occasions - not once has the wait been overly long compared to other ED or A+E Departments (probably due to the fact that the staff are on the ball, they appear to be very organised and effective, and run a smooth operation. Regardless of lack of staff or being overrun with patients)! I have found the Nurses and Doctors to be very thorough with my young Children, leaving nothing unchecked or overlooked. It is nice to see ALL of the staff (from Security through to Doctors, Paramedics and Nurses) maintain a professional manner even when overwhelmed or dealing with the most difficult of people and/or patients. The building requires updating and expanding, but out of necessity, the staff manage to work very well within the limited space they have. I am confident taking my Children to be seen here, knowing that the staff are very competent and thorough! Well done to all those involved, whom I have observed working so very hard for the community of Geraldton and surrounding Towns!
They cared so much when my 10yr old son recently broke his wrist. They are a fantastic hospital and the staff are absolutely amazing. My son misses them all
Worst experience possible!
Visited Geraldton Emergency with what I thought was the chickenpox, I needed to be diagnosed and get a script for the antiviral medication as I was becoming very unwell.
The triage nurse lifted my top up in front of everyone in the waiting room, didn’t clean any of the medical equipment that he used on me… before or after and really didn’t look like he had seen chickenpox before.
I was left sitting in the waiting room with all the other patients waiting to be seen, when I tried to ask the nurse if I could wait in the car because I could no longer sit up anymore she said “no their is nothing we can do and if we give you special treatment we have to give it to everyone. ” After two hours I left terribly sick and without seeing a dr, I went home and called dial a dr who were amazing.
I truly hope no one caught chickenpox off me from the staff being so unprofessional and not taking an infectious disease seriously, I literally could’ve been in and out of there in 10 minutes not spreading the disease.
Absolutely horrible service and help my pregnant misses spent 3 and a half hours there last night with bad stomach pain dont know still if it was the baby or not because she didn't get seen because apparently there were other priorities like someone with a sprained ankle or someone with a cold had to be seen first even know she arrived befor them she's been in tears all night and morning couldn't get no sleep
if any thing happens to her or my unborn baby because of your neglect geraldton hospital I will take you to the to supreme court

Can't thank Dr Carla and emergency department at Geraldton Regional Hospital enough for their efficient friendly help. The whole department was under the pump with many seriously ill people and they still managed to get us seen in a timely manner. We would recommend this hospital to any travellers with emergency situations.

Guys were so so very helpful and caring
Ended up in there yesterday with a pretty bad case of heat stroke, from driving down from Coral bay. Being from Melbourne I was not used to the heat, especially when it's 47° in the car Ollie my nurse was absolutely fantastic, very personable, and professional
Last year I would have voted Geraldton hospital the worst hospital I've ever been-This year I am voting it the best hospital for both staff, food and administration. I still wonder how this change happened.
