Gebauer Kurt

Dr Kurt Gebauer, in my opinion, is a great dermatologist, as he is very knowledgable, understanding of my itchy skin/eczema condition, and is familiar with the latest treatments. He has a nice manner, and is very professional. Most importantly, the treatments that he has prescribed for me have given me very good results - I give him 5 out of 5 stars for everything, thank you Dr Kurt!

I have been a patient of Fremantle Dermatology for over 16 years, and absolutely would not go anywhere else - what these guys don't know about skin conditions hasn't been discovered yet. Both Kurt and Hannes Gebauer are straight shooters, practical, solutions-oriented, respectful and don't muck around. Psoriasis is a pretty disturbing / life impacting condition - managing it through Kurt, Hannes and the amazing Lois has made it so much easier, I can't thank them enough!

Dr Gebauer tells it like it is. He explains your problem then gives you a solution. While his to the point attitude can come across as a little much for some, I welcomed it. I just needed a dermatologist that was finally going to diagnose me with certainty, and he did. Thanks Dr Gebauer!

I have just been to see Kurt again and within no time he ran the diagnosis with no nonsense, treated the problem and gave me some follow up guide lines.
On reading some of the negative comments I
think those people are the ones who like it sugar coated and are unable to accept that in some ways it is there own fault their problem has been exacerbated and he may just tell you what you don't really want to hear but need to.

He is a no nonsense guy, very direct and tells you straight what it is you have and what you can do to stop it or limit the problem. That's his personality style which you may or may not like but we are so lucky here in WA to have such a world renowned and respected Associate Professor Dermatologist here in Fremantle.
So, swallow your shallow thoughts, listen to him, do what he advises and get better

A seriously professional person who resolved my weird skin ailments that had several others foxed, which i guess is not surprising given he is an Assoc Prof with an amazing accademic record.

My daughter had skin issues since she was 6months and now she’s three years old. Went to many GPs to solve the issue but her skin got worse. Then I asked to see a dermatologist. After seeing the Professor and using the treatment method he recommended my daughters skin issues cleared up. Highly recommended for skin issues. He gets to the point and tells you how it is. Receptionist are friendly and polite. The only thing Is I regret not seeing a specialist at the beginning.

Highly knowledgeable and easy to talk to, Dr Gebauers treatment of my psoriasis changed my life!

My husband has been visiting Kurt for over 10 years now. He's a very polarising character you are either going to like the fact he's very straight and succinct or you're going to loathe it! Always had the best advice and service from him though. He even performed a small operation on my husband on a Saturday morning so we didn't have to travel from the country for another appointment.

Kurt has a pragmatic approach, simple and too the point, knows his stuff without doubt. Cant thank him enough, keep up the great work! Thank you

Clearly explained what was happening with me and the ways to treat it. After seven months, two GPs, and another dermatologist Prof Gebauer was quick to get a diagnosis, three working days. No complaints from me.

I've never met a doctor with worse bedside manner. Condescending, insulting and inexplicably rude.

Don't look forward to dealing with that reception attitude, puts people on edge. People that are paying them money.

I see a lot of 1 star reviews here, but I simply can't abide that. Kurt is definitely a 'shoot from the hip', to the point, no bullshit kind of guy. Remember, he's there to identify the problem and offer a solution, and for me he ticked every box. If it weren't for him and people like him, I'd be dead - simple as that. I needed Kurt to identify my cancer (malignant melanoma), then I needed him to get rid of it and assure me I'd be ok. He did all of these things, and he did them fast! I didn't need a psychologist, I needed someone who could identify cancer, cut it out, save my life, and educate me on being proactive against future instances for both myself and my family. I didn't seek him out for a cuddle, or a shoulder to cry on. I saw him because he's a professional with decades of experience, and wisdom to offer.
If you possess a pragmatic approach to understanding and treating your condition, I believe your experience with Dr. Kurt Gebauer can only have a positive effect on your life expectancy.

If I could give Kurt minus stars I would - he spent the majority of my consultation saying I'm stupid for going in the sun and barely checked my skin at all. It cost $150 to be insulted and I have no confidence that he even checked me, concerning since we have a family history of skin cancers.

Possibly one of the rudest and ineffectual health professionals you may come into contact with. Spent his time belittling my daughter and was unable on any level to provide any health information. Save yourself $150 and request a referral elsewhere
