Garden Thai Cuisine reviews
56Food is average with the new management but service is very slow and disorganised. Waited over an hour for one dish. Waited another 30 mins just to find out they forgot the 2nd dish.
Ownership has changed as we’ve noticed that the menu was new and staff. Did not disappointed us as the service was lovely and they are very attentive and friendly. Food was great and huge serving. Cannot complain as previous owner and new owner were both amazing. New owner means new menu and different way of cooking so just give it ago. Give a good credit their Thai Milk was way better the previous management. Best of luck and locals please do support small businesses.
Highly recommend! The soup was soo delicious, entrees, curry, veggies and papaya salad were very nice too! They don’t sell alcohol but you can bring your. Friendly staff and comfortable place!
Made a booking tonight, come a long way over here, to finally didn’t get my table organised… the waitress didn’t even try to accommodate us…
Our go-to Thai restaurant. Very affordable. We usually pay around 80$ for a family of four, without drinks. I still like Tom Yum here the most. Services are great too.
I've been here a number of times and the food is always very tasty. The service is pretty good and it's a decent place to dine in.
The Grill/roast pork was absolutely delicious. You should try eat the grill pork if you feel starving until it great to have dinner.
This place used to be our favorite Thai restaurant. We went there often. However, the past few times we went there we noticed significant drop in the quality of the food. The tom yum soup was sooo.salty, like it has been brewed for hours! It didn't taste authentic. The instant soup I make at home with shop bought tom yum paste taste better. All the other dishes were just average. Service was pretty friendly, but they closed quite early. 8: 30pm from memory. So we had to rush. Atmosphere is good if you sit outside when the weather is nice. Overall it was a disappointing visit and I don't think we will go there again. There are plenty of better places to eat in Vic Park.
Has this place changed hands? Was always my favourite Thai but last 2 times food has been average.
We've been going to this restaurant for years and everytime we are there the food is consistent of a high standard and delicious. Great portion sizes for reasonable prices. Have never faulted a dish. Our favourites are Duck curry, Chu Chee fish and always look forward to sticky rice mango dessert when it's in season. Staff are always friendly accommodating, attentive and polite.
Ordered beef tom yum fried rice and pork drunken noodles. Both dishes weren't stir-fried properly with char flavour, both were quite soggy and mushy. Lacked flavour with insufficient sourness and spice, could only taste saltiness. Meat wasn't tender, must be from cheap cuts. Overall, very disappointed with this experience.
Great authentic Thai food. Flavor is on point and the spice level is spot on. Would be coming back for more.
I've dined at Garden Thai Cuisine for several years and the food is absolutely great! Great food, cool service and plenty of tables for customers. What a gem!
My wife and I have frequented Garden Thai since its commencement but have been disappointed of late. We had our favorite, beef masaman and friend rice to take home, however the masaman sauce, which is normally thick and creamy and full of flavor was a watery, light weight gravy and further to that disappointment the dish smelt of old used oil.there was a smell to it we didn't like.
The rice had very little flavor, and the chicken pieces where large and dry.
What's happened Garden Thai?
Stars were given on the reasonable pricing. It was very underwhelming in terms of taste especially the tomyam which tasted like the instant paste we use at home.
Lunch set available though i personally never tried it before. I always love to patronize this restaurant for its spacious seating, nice ambience and generous portion servings.
Placed a delivery order with the restaurant and two hours later was advised by the delivery service that Garden Thai had changed my order to pick up. No notification from restaurant or delivery service. Didn't know what was happening till I called wondering where my order was.
Probably the BEST Thai restaurants I have been to! The food is very authentic and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the red duck curry which had the best balance of sweetness and savoury. The drinks and food here are also way cheaper than other Thai places and definately worth the money. The service is amazing and the best part is that you can choose to sit outside with lots of greenery if you desire. Will definitely be coming back here more!
First time and last time. Paid $48 for 3 Green curries with tofu. The curries came without tofu and the containers leaked resulting in the bottom of the paper bag we were given falling out of the bag and food falling all over our hall carpet.
Good relaxing vibe and nice food.
Just some of chairs and tables outside in poor quality (rusty).
Deep fried pork was a bit too tough
Overall good
