Funky Momo

I frequently visit this place for quick bites with friends or evening snacks and even dinner. This place stays open till about 8-8: 30 pm on all days of the week except Mondays. It is located in the heart of Vic Park and is easily accessible by public transport and personal vehicles. I have tried the momo platter which has 4 different kinds of momos- steamed, kothey momos (pan fried momos), deep fried momos and chilly momos served with a chutney and some salad. What I like apart from these are the chowmein and the fried rice which gives me a true Indian street style flavour and they sever good quantity for each dish. I have also tried their aloo chop which has not disappointed me either. However, since the place is always crowded it is difficult to get a reservation and the service is not always great. If and when there are no tables available the staff is rude to the customers who walk in. Also, we have seen that for some people they take reservations on call but whenever we call to book a table we are told that they don't take reservations so that might be slightly inconvenient at times. Apart form that would totally recommend this place to everyone.

We got there a bit late, but they still served us and they were very nice. We ordered the big platters to try all kinds of dumplings, they were delicious! And the noodles were very good as well.

One of the best places in Perth to have good authentic Nepali food. The momos are definitely to dig in here.

Personally I love their Sadeko Momo, steamed dumplings generously marinated in their special Momo Ko Achar (the spicy sauce for Momo) with chopped onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves. This is for those who love spicy food.

Another typical Nepali style momos to have here is their Jhol Momo. Hot steamed momos dipped in cold tangy and spicy aromatic fresh sesame cold soup.

Apart from momos, they have quite a range of Nepali street food dishes too, like their Nepali style lamb fried rice. Its a unique fried basmati rice in light masala seasoning, together with chunks of tender lamb sekuwa (Nepali bbq lamb).

They also have Sel Roti, a bangle shaped fried sweet rice fritter which usually served during religious or auspicious festivals in Nepal. This Nepal's version of churros is another one to be enjoyed here with a cup of hot tea. A must for sweet tooth people.

Went in at 7 o clock they were busy. I waited to get a table after 10 min i got a table for next 15 minute the table given wasnt cleaned (last person dished were still on table) when i aksed to order they took 10 minutes and my order didnt come until another 15 minutes and 2nd
dish which was order along firstone was around 45 minute late.

This is a really small restaurant; it's more suited for a take-out experience, honestly. Be prepared to have no privacy while you chat with your friends as the tables are too close to each other. There's limited outside seating as well. Food was decent and reasonably priced; serving size is fairly generous as well. Service was fast even though there were many dine-in customers.

So we were asked if we had a booking, we didn't and they treated like they're doing us a favour by seating us 20 mins later. Food is okay but it's family run and no standards.

Best Momo ever tasted, the taste gave me the real taste of Momo that we used to have as a kid. Highly Recommend

Our group of friends decided to try this place out because a friend recommended this place and it was a great experience. We were quite a large group and though we booked for a table, we arrived ahead of time. The staff, despite being busy, was helpful and we sat down almost straightaway.

We ordered a momo platter which has a bit of each type of momo and I'll have to say I enjoyed each of them. The standard momo comes with a slightly spicy dipping sauce, and the sauce is actually good with the pan-fried and deep-fried ones too. The last version on the platter was one that is coated in a flavourful tomato sauce and that's a flavour bomb.

We also got a laphing but instead of what's in the menu which is dry, we got a soupy version. We're pleasantly surprised that it came with Waiwai instant noodles bits on it which added to the texture of the dish. The laphing is like a wheat starch noodles and it's in a mildly spicy soup.

The other dish we ordered was a chowmein which is essentially a Chinese fried noodles influence but in Nepalese take. The lamb that came with it was crispy and tender and the noodles was great with the green chili sauce that the staff recommended to add to it.

And the last dish was an aloo puri which is like a pita bread but made from rice flour and served with a side of potato in curry-like sauce. I enjoyed stuffing the potato chunks in it and eating the bread together with the saucy potato.

Definitely would come back to try the other dishes.

They have suttle Flavours of food with feed to focus more on waiting time.takes more than 30 minutes for a single dish.filling should be more in veg momos.

Fantastic place to have dumplings. Reserved a table. Great friendly staff. We have a momo joint in wembley but funky momo was too good. Going back again in a month. They kept us well informed of wait tines as they were v busy but we did not had to wait that long. Relaxing dinner. Loved it.

My first bite in Perth and it blew my mind. SUCH SPEED such value much yum and refreshing HOLY too good

Pani puri jhol was sweet, portion very small. Chatpate was just testing oily. Didn’t find as authentic Nepali food

The food was awesome. It tasted so delicious. Me and my friend went for lunch, and we ordered papri chat, rice & pork, and Nepali thali (forgot the actual name).

I would recommend to at least once taste their food.

Ordered the momo platter, fried rice and the crispy pork belly bites. The momos were delicious especially the chilli ones - not too spicy and great flavoured sauce. Definitely keen to come back and try some more!

Loved this nice little cosy place reminded me of my school days in the Himalayas and all the momos we used to devour. Will definitely be coming back with more friends and school mates.
We Ordered the Pork Chowmein was delish and the momo share platter and the Thali was lovely.

Best dinner I've had since coming to Perth. Fantastic food, really good quantity, decently priced, and best of all, really nice service by Rajni. I left a happy customer who will surely return!

Nice authentic food

Had the momo platter along with the fried rice. It was all very nice however very heavy food.

The menus do need a physical update though as it seems to be erased and re written a few times
