Funkee Monkee

Delicious food. We had the tandoori chicken plate and the beef cheek vindaloo. Both were big portions and very tasty. My only suggestion is to include rice in the vindaloo dish as we didn’t realise this had to be ordered separately. My son had the kids butter chicken which was a big serve for $12.

The flavours were phenomenal. Indian with a twist. The Naan pizzas a highlight. A unexpected gem. Thanks for a great night.

This place is my usual go-to take out so I know what to expect, great flavours and good value. However, on this occasion when I reordered taquitos I got a disappointing three measly looking rolls with even more measly looking garnish. No kidding this is what I opened the box to. Very sad state of affairs.

Went here today for Mother’s Day. I honestly never heard of this place but very lucky to stumble into it on the net.

Not many Indian restaurants offer a western kids menu. This makes it hard for some parents who want to enjoy Indian dishes but have kids with a very western palate. So I’m really glad that they do this, and that they also do it for lunch.

We came a bit earlier than the opening time but the server was more than happy to seat us. He was very attentive to us and hospitality was very nice.

Ordered the kid’s pizza which was nice. I felt bad that my kids didn’t finish them but it was more because my kids are extremely picky, nothing wrong with the pizza itself.

For me and my wife, we tried the Barramundi & Prawn Goan Curry, the Butter Chicken Taco and the Tandoori Chicken Board.

All of them were lovely and fulfilled our Indian dishes cravings.

The Butter Chicken inside the taco was delish. The Goan Curry was very addicting, I keep going back for it even if its just with the tumeric rice, just wished there’s more meat in them. The Tandoori Chicken was lovely too, though slightly dry. Pappadums were nice but just a bit oily. Overall though, we were pleased with our dishes.

Ordered the bottled beer and they always bring it out with chilled glass. Which was great!

Every single item we tried is amazing and the staff is really friendly as well. Been coming here once a week for about a month now and definitely gonna continue doing that until we tried the whole menu!

Seriously the best place place I’ve ever eaten in my life and I’ve been here twice. The service is the best in Australia (maybe world) but ye Tysm for the experience!

The beef is great! It’s not spicy to us, the potatoes are soooooo good!

All our friends commented on the amazing service and the friendly staff. Fantastic venue to get everyone together. We love it here and will be back again and again and again

Fremantle best kept Secret!
Came for Wednesday lunch as only patrons- some of the Best Aussie Indian I’ve ever had (deconstructed Samosa, Pumpkin + Coconut Curry, Garlic Naan) - peaceful, tranquil, quiet, out of the way. Defs rated for return visits

Should be rated best cocktail bar in Fremantle. The food was amazing, hot and sour chicken was dope. Highly highly rate and money very well spent. Keep up the great work.

Very good service here. We felt cared for and super welcome. The passion fruit margaritas were so delicious and so was the food.

Amazing food and cocktails, almost cried it was that good. The flavours in the food and drinks made my inner child happy. 11/10 definitely coming back again and again and again

We had a fantastic night at the Monkee.
We attended a gig at The Freo Arts Centre (just around the corner) and thought we'd have dinner at Funkee. From the moment we were welcomed by Ravi (who we later discovered is the part owner), we knew we were in safe hands and we felt so welcomed.
The food was delicious (we had the meatballs, chicken board and hand cut chips), our drinks (wine and mocktails) were so good. The standout by far was the attentive and friendly service, we felt more like long lost friends than customers.
We enjoyed our visit so much, we went back after the gig for a night cap.
Thanks Ravi and gang for making our night so memorable. For sure, we'll be back:)

Absolutely the best Indian food I have had in freo. I was a bit skeptical at first about Indian fusion food, but when I had the Chickpea taco it was like I died and went to heaven. Fresh, perfectly balanced flavors that blew my mind. I also had the balls of happiness (dahi puri) and the Bombay sliders (vada pav). The food was easily as good as actual Indian street food one would get in India but with an added dimension. The staff were great and very accommodating. The atmosphere was relaxed, and I loved the artwork on the wall. Would 1000% go again. Cost was reasonable for freo considering we had like 7 dishes and 3 drinks between the 2 of us. I was too full for dessert but will have to rectify that next time.

Cool venue, delicious decadent food! Everything was prepared fresh.the tastes we're amazing. Portion is kind off small but the flavour truly made up for it!
And $12 cocktails where delicious! Tequila passionfruit. YUM

Searched for a mexican Restaurant, Search resulted in this new restaurant. Checked the reviews and thought of giving it a try. After having dinner can say it was one of the best culinary experience I've ever had. Food was so delicious! The Staff was very helpful. He explained everything about restaurant and cuisine.
I'll definitely visit you again and have already started recommending people to visit you. All the very best and I can ensure you many branches in Perth

I did order food from Uber Eats today and the kids margarita pizza was absolutely dry and burnt and the butter chicken tacos didn't have any flavours at all.

We had feta and pumpkin naan pizza, Bombay sliders, rose lassi and tamarind margarita which was lip smackingly good. It was our anniversary so there was a surprise complimentary kulfi at the end too Head down here if you want to try Indian with a twist, or want to introduce someone to Indian food in a non-traditional way…

Had a lovely dinner here yesterday! We ordered the goan fish and prawn curry, the beef cheeks, lamb ribs and deconstructed samosa. All the dishes were wonderful. The portions were big enough and the food was tasty. Ravi the owner is really friendly and was so accommodating to my husbands allergies. Would def return here next time we visit Perth.
