We discovered this little gem from social media. This restaurant is always busy and they do not take booking. This is a local favourite of ours. We are working our way through the menu and have not been disappointed with the flavours, freshness, presentation & service. Their serving were generous and their taste authentic. Value for money. Highly recommend hokkien prawn noddle, char kway teow, sambal barramundi, mee goreng and the list goes on. Well done!

Although prices definitely will spook people, you should take note the portions suit 2 or 3 per dish. Quality is really high for each dish. Char kway teow, Laksa, seafood bee hoon, are all worth it.

Great taste, quality ingredients and generous portions. However a large kitchen towel in my beehoon soup is unacceptable, i can't brush off the thought that i probably ate filth on the towel. I thought it was a large piece of tofu skin or fish maw, was so disgusted when i realised what i had bitten into.

This little Asian cafe serves some delicious Singaporean/Malaysian hawker style food. We love coming here for the Hokkien Prawn Noodles, Char Kway Teow and Lion City Fish. The Katong Laksa isn’t quite like what you actually get from the nostalgic streets Katong but still is a smashing bowl of flavors that is a winner on its own.

Duck Egg Char Kway Teow (鴨蛋炒粿條) is highly recommended. You can’t taste the similar flavour and texture in other places.

It’s awesome they have Babi pongteh here however the flavor isn’t that strong. The rendang is not good and the char Kway Teow is average. The service is excellent though so a 4/5 but a 3/5 for the food. It gets busy some early before noon to secure a table without waiting

Good place to eat some Chinese foods such as black pepper beef rice, spicy lala and char kway teow with duck egg.

Came here for an early lunch - very small place but definitely very popular, a queue was forming by 12PM. Limited seating so I highly recommend coming early to grab a seat. Tried the soup BCM and hokkien mee - was quite oily for our tastes and not quite seasoned as well as we would’ve liked, but definitely fairly close to the real deal. A little bit on the pricier side. May come back again if in the vicinity.

For real Singapore Malaysian cuisine, you need to come here. However it is always crowded so get in early. Food is consistent though some friends with questionable taste buds seem to think otherwise.

Called to pre-order food as we had an appointment at 6pm. They didn't allow it - okay fair enough (it was a Wednesday at 5.30pm so not a busy time). Asked how long it would take to cook mee goreng and kway teow- 5-6 minutes was the response.

Got there and ordered and it took 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Didn't appreciate getting lied to over the phone.

Oh and the chef was sick - coughing in the kitchen. They also put carrot and cherry tomatoes in mee goreng - so much for authentic Malaysian food.

Not sure how to rate my experienced. We got there just after the cafe was open, only two customers in front of us. We ordered and paid. A few other customers came in, one with a young toddler. The toddler was not feeling well and vomited all over the floor, the staff was brilliant calming the toddler and clean up the mess. Brilliant I thought. Then we noticed everyone came after us starting to have their order fulfil. Maybe they preorder, then the seated couple beside us got their food. All up 40 minutes wait for our food.

Was the food good? Yes I’d say very good Rendang, and it not cheap but the portion was ok. Was the wait worth it? No.

People from Singapore and Malaysia actively seek out places to get their fix of tastes from "home".
And Fugu8 pops up often on the various social media platforms that these people frequent.
We have hunted down most of the places to find familiar foods that take up too much effort to cook ourselves.
And we've heard many good things about this place. The words authentic taste was often mentioned.
We finally made it there this week and enjoyed a laksa and a dry bak chor mee.
Both were excellent. The laksa was as good as if not better than any I have had. In fact, I had a good one on a recent flight between Bangkok and Singapore.
The flavour was right and the spice balance was perfect.
Fugu8 uses the right noodle for this dis and was generous with the prawns, quails eggs, tau pok, and even some clams. And the sambal elevated the dish without overwhelming it.
The bak chor mee was also very good. We had a really nice one in Food Street at Changi Airport and this was was equally good.
Again, there was a generous serve of pork pieces, minced pork, mushrooms, and bits of crispy pork lard.
And the vinegar sauce was just right too.
You get two hours free parking at the shopping centre where Fugu8bis located and credit cards are accepted.

Friends of Singapore and i celebrated the Singapore National Day at Fugu 8 on Tues. We ordered all things Singaporean (sambal barramundi, sambal prawns and squid, mee goreng and hokkein mee + thai fried chicken ordered by the non-Singaporean ;) The barramundi was a hit, tender and moist paired perfectly with the sambal. Why 3-stars, because the hokkein mee lacked prawn flavour and wok hey, and we walked out smelling in our clothing.

After 3 years, I finally got a chance to try this establishment out.

I left rather disappointed. Arrived at 1230pm only to be told no duck egg available. Their CKT was good, but for the price I paid I expected a lot better.

Drive down to Cambridge Food Court and will get better wok hei.

Definitely overpriced.

Terrible and rude service. Putting up notice like short of staff due to Covid is understandable and the least you could do is smile and be more courteous.

We enjoy coming here for our Malaysian and Singaporean food fix. Their fried noodle dishes have "wok hei". A tad on the higher price range, but portions are generally large.

Plenty of free parking at the shopping centre basement or roof top.

Have been supportive of this place for a long time now with the great food, but having to wait nearly an hour for our takeaway has left a bad taste. Imagine if people had to get back to the office. And this was after being told it’d be half an hour which is understandable for a busy lunch time.

Not impressed!

Came here for hokkien mee and fried kuey teow but both dishes were not available! Was given an alternative menu to order from, which was fine, however the portions are really small. See photos of the dish vs the size of my cup. Might be the smallest dishes I have ever ordered in Perth. Great that the rice was free refill though. Ambience was not bad and service was good.
