Fenians Pub reviews
61The customer service was terrible, we ordered a spice bag, parmi, onion rings and seasonal greens. The spice bag was freezing cold, I sent it back for it to be brought back out just as cold. The parmi was rock solid and cold, the chef remade the parmi which was better. The seasonal greens were cold and rock solid. I wouldn't recommend and will not be back
We were walk-ins at 8.05pm on the night of New Year's day hoping for dinner and a beer. Another group of 3-4 walked in right behind us looking for the same. We were told "so sorry, we shut the kitchen at 8pm on public holidays". As tourists in the area we were looking for somewhere easy and good for dinner and funnily enough I'm still hungry whether it's a public holiday or not. Bad luck for Fenians - they lost out on the dinner and drinks revenue from at least 5 people and there was another group walking in as we were walking out! At least the barmaid seemed apologetic as she told us.
It was early evening but during happy hour however there were very few people in here. It’s a great pub and serves a grand pint of Guinness.
Great old fashioned pub.football on TV, a good feed & great Guiness.what more do you want. Lol.
Struggling to be Irish. Beef and Guiness pie left a lot to be desired. 3 small pieces of beef bulked out with carrots and celery. I found the peas eventually. They were in the pie, 6 of them. Pie itself was just a hard, inedible crust that couldn't soak up the watery gravy. The handful of chips were ok. All in all, the second worst pie in Australia.
Visited Fenians December 26, for dinner. Hadn't been for a number of years and sad to say, probably won't be back for some time. My wife and I had the Guiness pie and mash potatoes. Very disappointed in the flavour of the pie, pastry was very flaky and powdery. Mash potatoes were cold, had to put in to pie juices to warm up. Presentation wasn't considered. Very disappointed for the price paid, which was not cheap.
Possibly visited on a bad day, but found bar staff abrupt, and we never received our food. Expected better of Novotel.
Lovely vibes and nice sports selection and guiness/Irish whiskey range. Should try to open later most nights but other than that, an institution!
Begrudgingly 2 Grey stars for the service. Staff were great and very apologetic for a poor meal. Crispy pork belly came out limp and flaccid first time - just awful. Second time crispier but fatty and not great. Fish was OK but only average. Really disappointing considering it was the signature dining experience of the Novotel. I would be ashamed of claiming that meal. Expected a lot better as a Novotel member.
Good old fashioned atmosphere, nice courteous staff. Food isn't the greatest. I had the beef a Guinness pie, I've had better and the vegies where two small carrots and Cale that disintegrated to nothing in my mouth.
Still a good pub for a drink.
Had Guinness pie and the mc donald chicken curry another day. The chicken curry reminded me of my home food as it was very close to Indian curry. Also the Guinness pie was great. Good choice of drinks
Best pint of guiness in Perth accompanied by sausage in batter chips curry sauce amazing.love this place staff are brilliant as well.
Staff were lovely.
Food was really tasty
For pub food amazing.
British sausages were yum
Worth the visit just for the sausages.
Nice food big serves only complaint was.we were a table of 7 and they literally brought out the meals 1 at a time with large time between and the last person got their meal when the whole table had finished eating.not very good
Amazing service and setup. Very pleased with the way my friends and I were welcomed, highly recommend a visit here.
Extremely slow service and with about 25 patrons in the place I’d expect faster service. 6 TV’s showing 2 sports and 4 of them on the same sport. Not impressive place and for a pub in a nice part of the city I’d expect more. Not sure if the prices have been increased lately but a bit overpriced.
I didn’t try the food as I didn’t have the time to spare.
Not keen on being 'that person' but we won't be back here. Have tried this place twice, first time the burgers were quite bland and unimpressive. Second time the wait staff & kitchen were extremely slow even though the bar was not crowded. One female wait staff seemed to be incredibly annoyed to be working, slamming chairs into tables and huffing about picking up dishes. A few people from other tables complained about the service and left. We got our meal nearly an hour after ordering. Food was much nicer than our previous experience but only just warm. Sorry guys, need to up your game.
Recently dropped in & enjoyed 'the guy tea', cricket (ashes test) was on the big screen, good choice of beers, nice staff - good Irish pub / good pub in an unloved part of the city!
Came in for "hump day rump day " steak was cooked to perfection, great portion size.friendly staff and cozzy vibe.highly recommend. Will certainly be back next Wednesday
