Federal Hotel

Service - fun and very confident. Setting - very easy going and accommodating, so many social options. Food - just delicious, big serves, flavoursome and presentation was great. Great place to stop for a great meal and a very cold beverage!

Great service from the bar lady. Meal were nice. Was out of the way for us to walk from town.

Found a frozen BUG in my $20 drink, so I politely informed the Bar staff who both the younger two employees rudely interjected and refused remaking my overpriced drink, prior to the incident they were somewhat polite (couldn’t speak much for the older lady who must of had a bad day)

There is so much to choose from on the menus. The food was delicious.
Quick service, very friendly.
The atmosphere is family-friendly and inviting.
The fire was lit inside the pub, so there's no need to worry about the weather.
Highly recommended.

We ordered our meals on Friday 30th September, time 7.15. There were quite other people in the dining room, but our meals did not arrive until 8.45. We may have accepted this delay if our repeated requests inquiry about the delay were simply ignored. This took the gloss off the reasonable quality of our meals. Need to lift game.

We are visiting from Queensland my friend had eaten there before and even though she waited awhile thought she would take us there for lunch. We had to sit outside (in the cold) as the dining room was closed for some reason we weren't told why. When we ordered we were Not advised there would be nearly a 2 hour wait (if so we would not have stayed because we were hungry but we also had a very hungry 7 year old) When we finally got our order my friends chicken schnitzel (which we had always know was crumbed) was like it was battered it also smelt and tasted as if it was cooked with fish (which would of been ok only that she is allergic to fish.) When saying something to the lady that took our order she was very rude and said it could not smell like fish and that that is the crumbs they use.) because we waited so long i could not eat it all in the time we had so I asked for a takeaway container and was charged for it which has never happened anywhere else i have asked before. So needless to say I would never recommend eating there and I or my friends will never eat there again. Very dissatisfied

Footy was on but with no volume please most customers just wanted to listen to their team play just put the volume and play music later

Food took almost 2 hours.
Food was very average once it did arrive.
Meal was way Smaller than it should have been considering the cost.
Wouldn't recommend going there during busy period. L.

Queen bedroom. Clean Room.
Big sized bedroom
Big TV. Great air con. Fridge.
Shared Facilities are average.
The food is brilliant.
Had BLT, pork rib eye & fish, chip specials. All were Top notch.
All in All. Would definitely stay here again. Ladies behind the bar were all super friendly and helpful.
Has a nice balcony to sit out on if staying there.

Only 3 stars, because I haven't been there YET! Not being a local, it's a matter of timing. The menu looks great, can't wait.

Visited recently for the first time (when I visited Collie) and only used the dining room. The dining area has a nice ambience, very clean and well spaced tables. Functional but comfortable and quiet enough that you can eat and talk over your meal.
The real winner here is the food and the dining room staff. A solid menu with enough range to suit most tastes and reasonably priced. I chose the garlic prawns as I only wanted a light meal and it was perfect. The meal was hot, the prawns were a good size, the sauce was plentiful and so tasty! Lovely side serve of salad on the plate balanced this dish.
My friends ordered the chicken parmigiana, the chicken pasta and the beef rissoles with vegetables and gravy. All good servings, hot and tasty.
The best part of our dining experience was the Federal allows diners to plate share and readily supplied extra plates and cutlery with a smile. (They also will doggy box any uneaten portions when you leave - bonus!) On some menu items you have the option of a half serving which is great for diners who have smaller appetites.
We shared desserts which was the perfect way to finish our meals. I shared the chocolate lava cake with cream and icecream which was perfect. My friends shared a sticky date pudding with cream and icecream. Very tasty but needed a bit more sticky sauce.
The dining staff were attentive, welcoming, friendly but not intrusive. Our meals arrived quickly and were hot on delivery. Overall one of the most relaxing meals I have had in a country hotel dining room which is next to a sports bar. Considering it was a Saturday night it was remarkably quite. Well done to the Federal Hotel.

Surprisingly wholesome food. Guess country pubs are just better than the 5h! Tty, city pubs. I eat there again.
