Faraway Bay

My family and I recently returned from our long awaited trip to Faraway Bay.
Before I share my glowing thoughts of this place, there is a couple of things you need to know. Firstly, it's a little more 'tired' than the promotion video and some of the pictures show. For mine that's understandable when you learn more about the situation the current owners are managing. Respect and admiration goes out to Kathy and Kevin on this front.
Know lets talk about the location. Seriously magical, untouched wilderness - both on land, and throughout the waterways.
From freshwater billabongs nearby to the famous King Georges River and falls, as the land, air and sea animals that call this place home.
Million dollar views from your room, your porch, the central camp hut and without giving too much away, your shower.
Our host's lead by Andy (Chef), ably assisted by Tabs (Tabitha) our water skipper and Taylor & Henry guest services. Their down to earth calm, friendliness and relaxed nature match the authentic setting perfectly for Jane and our two boys.
Yes, you do feel like you are a long way from anywhere and anyone.
For mine, Faraway Bay is a perfect bucket-list location for folks who don't taken themselves too seriously or think themselves too important, and who aren't expecting silver service, pampering or modern facilities. Remember, your in the remote bush, and this is a bush camp.
It isn't cheap, but the return on your investment is priceless if you are looking for and value a unique experience and lasting memories that aren't easily replicated anywhere else in Australia or I dare say around the world.
