65The food at the Roadhouse is great. The Sands burger is one of the best hamburger around. The rest area across from the roadhouse is very family friendly, keep clean and plenty of room.
Disappointed! During the Easter long weekend I called into this roadhouse with my two young children. Was only stopping quickly for two Icy Poles for my kids. The operator had a Minimum Spend $10.00 on eftpos, my purchase came to $5.00. I stood my ground and told the operator Banks/ACCC have made it clear that demanding a min spend is against merchant agreements:
Commonwealth Bank, for example, makes it quite explicit in its merchant agreement that minimums on EFTPOS are a no-no:
2.3.3 No minimum transaction amount
You must not impose any minimum transaction amount for card transactions.
I left without a Icy Pole for my kids, I have the money to spend but Scammers like this guy need to have a good look at themselves!

* In response: completely understand exp, I am partner to an Australian private company, but saying I do not charge my clientele a minimum (even if it was a 3c washer) you are in violation of your banking agreement and maybe you should look at increasing margins on products vs forcing clients to spend a minimum amount.
Beautifully fresh lunch rolls and good toasties. Outdoir tables on the shade near a playground. Good travel stop - thankyou.
Great place to stop with my kids on our trips to kalbarri. Awesome playground with shaded seating areas. Toilets have always been clean when we have stopped.:) Friendly staff, good food selection and cold drinks
Due to this place being so far from anywhere and on a main road, you would probably expect a little more than what you see and get.
However they do have for the area a 'fair' selection of nibbles and drinks that will keep you moving on the road.
What is good though is, they make their food fresh and do a good job at it, as long as you are prepared to wait.
