Emma Gorge Resort reviews
49I've been here twice now and just loved it, Emma George is fantastic and the food at the restaurant was fabulous
This is the pick of the El Questro locations. Nice grass, pleasant staff, less busy and the gorge itself is spectacular. We were made to feel welcome and a valued customer which is quite a contrast to the main place back off the gibb River road. Visit here, skip the main one.
Great camp area, situated ~ 1.5 km walk from Emma Gorge. Adequate parking, has a pool but was down for repairs when we were there.
Emma Gorge is a wonderful place but the rock scramble up to the waterfall should only be attempted by people who are fit, agile and with good balance. Rock scrambling requires good concentration also, otherwise an injury is never far away.
The bar and restaurant is very good, expensive but good
A lovely place to hang out for a night or two
Didn't stay at the resort but highly recommend visiting the Gorge. Pay attention to accessibility warnings though.
Beautiful part Australia, I didn't stay there but took the walk through the gorge to the pools
This is not the easiest of paths but take your time and enjoy the experience.
Did the Emma Gorge walk. VERY challenging. More like rock climbing than walking. Water crossings and many treacherous rocks to clamber over.
They say it's a Grade 4 but that's nonsense. At least a Grade 6 and imperative you wear GOOD sturdy walking shoes.
Very disappointing, do not stay here if you are solo, a couple or family. The resort is entirely focused on bus tours and bigger groups. Our first night there were two bus tours and a private birthday party - not really consistent with the anticipated ambience of the remote location. Second night there were four bus tours. Contrary to what their website says, the only option for dinner was to join the bus tour buffet at $65 each. The Gorge and location is great, but recommend a day trip if you want to see these.
A great place to stay, in canvas cabins nice and comfortable, practically sleeping under the stars, remote as you possibly you could get, a brilliant experience, at one with nature.
We stayed at Emma Gorge Resort. The prices are expensive so expected it to be amazing. The accommodation backs onto the walkway, people walk by all hours of the day on the gravel. It’s noisy. The food was average - $65 for a buffet. Overall disappointing.
But we would definitely recommend the Emma Gorge walk - it was amazing! But stay somewhere else.
Didn't stay here drove from El Questro station for their Gluten free beef burger! Would absolutely recommend, Best burger i have had in a long time. They even put the chips on the side.
Beautiful Place to sit and relax also!
We didn't stay at the resort but enjoyed a refreshment after walking to Emma gorge. We returned that evening to enjoy an absolutely amazing buffet dinner.
Beautiful spot for a swim, with the added bonus of a small thermal stream.
Slightly rocky walk in, but well worth it.
Outstanding tent's with private facilities, great location and helpful staff. Good food a must stop.
Beautiful resort, nice walk to the gorge, to be met with a lovely swimming hole and waterfall. Didn’t stay as it is cabins, not camping. El Questro has camping, glamping and cabins. Beautiful gorge
Good to have a reward after walking up Emma Gorge. The service and food are good, staff are friendly.
Didn't stay here but came in for buffet dinner from El Questro Station 28km or 30min away. Absolutely delicious. Best meal in weeks. The chef Chrissy's passion and love for food was clearly evident in her presentation and the food. Well worth the stop if you want to treat yourself while camping/vanning.
Currently closed and being renovated. Really disappointing after hours of walking and swimming at the Gorge they didbt have a cafe or reception open to buy a cold drink or snack etc
We were at Emma Gorge Resort in July - August and we loved it! Yes, the tented cabins could have done with aircon as it was extremely hot at night but they did have fans. Breakfast was fantastic and the restaurant was perfect! Everything on the menu was amazing especially the specials. This place was the highlight of our 7 week honeymoon!
I am talking about Eco Tent near Emma Gorge and El Questro. We had a Chambrain Gorge Boat Tour in El Questro, so we booked the tent. No other choice. A bit luxury ecological tent, compared with high fare $350 per night. Only a fan available, no air conditioner, heater or fridge. At night, you may feel cold as the tent can not be completely enclosed. Don't miss out delicious dinner buffet at $65.
