Embers Woodfired

I went to Embers last night for dinner after I've been going there for a number of years and I've always loved it. However last night was completely different. After placing a phone order I was told it would be 25-30 minutes. I arrive 35 minutes later and the food wasn't ready yet which isn't a massive issue but it became one when I had to wait another 45 minutes before it was. One of the staff downstairs said it was because they were run off their feet upstairs they had decided to focus on those orders. After being told this I went for a wonder upstairs and say at least 7 table with no-one on them and many of the others weren't full. This wouldn't be classed as running of their feet on a normal Saturday night when I have previously been to Embers.

When we finally got the food and got it home and began eating we were greeted with some very disappointing food. The salmon vodka sauce and the salmon itself had been burnt and was borderline inedible. The sauce on the Cordon Blue has far too much blue cheese in it to the point it was more of a greyish/blue/green colour and was also very difficult to eat, I normally eat it all but left most of it.two people ordered the portofino and it didn't have it's normal rich colour and both people got through about half of it before throwing it away. The pumpkin ravioli and the seafood marinara were passable but not up to their normal standards.

My understanding is that there are new owners and they need to lift their game very quickly and if they do not I will not be going back.

The food wasn't anything special. Mushroom sauce was bland - potato mash had lumps of potato - asparagus was tough. A good seafood chowder is a taste experience but theirs wasn't.
Dunno - Portion sizes were big and reasonable prices but not sure why I would go back.

Went to takeaway pizza shop. Pizzas used to be good but after new ownership our pizzas were very disappointing. Will not be getting takeaway pizzas from there again.

Takeaway sirloin with garlic prawns, I almost gave it to my dog for dinner.

Was late, blan and thrown into the box looked like a dropped servo meal.

Maybe if the blue haired he she they them didn't scream into the phone the chefs might produce some better food.

So disappointing I've NEVER had a bad experience from Embers.

I can’t believe the kitchen hand is Chef Lloyd! Amazing chef, he has hosted charity dinners at hanult wines! With all proceeds going to kanyana wild life park!
He also owned a restaurant in freo!
He would be a real asset to ur restaurant if he was in a senior chef position!

I’ve been going to Embers for YEARS, like it’s got to be 15/16 years. Recently they sold out to a consortium. I was told nothing would change. Famous last words! The chicken cordon Bleu is soooooo dry now, normally I kick myself for not asking for the sauce on the side. Last night I was left looking for the sauce, the chips are stringy thin chips not thick steak cut chips. The seafood chowder had processed seafood in it and was flavourless. The quality has dropped DRAMATICALLY, we all know they shortcuts taken by these particular consortiums here in Perth, and it’s always the quality of food and it will eventually be the cleanliness too. What a shame for such a magnificent long-standing family owned business to end up like this. Sad to say last night is the last time I eat from Embers.

Excellent service, very quick seeing the restaurant was full and we were at a big table. None of us were disappointed with our food choices, very yummy and satisfying. Definitely recommend.

My partner and I had such a nice time and it was honestly one of the best experiences in the 32 countries I've dined in. David served us this evening, between this world class service and 5 star food it was an experience I'd recommend to everyone. Thanks David and the chefs behind the scenes

One of our favourite places to eat out, both dine in and takeaway. Friendly and accomodating staff, comfortable and warm atmosphere and superb food. Wait times have always been reasonable and prices likewise.

Great menu range also, and most if not all dishes are customisable. Plenty of options for different dietary requirements too

Beautiful spot in the Perth hills and perfect for families or after you went for a hike/ bike ride in the beautiful mundaring area. The food was good, but it seems to be always crowded so if you don’t book ahead, you will only get a spot outside. There is a special menu for vegetarians and vegans. Outside was no music which could be improved. I was aiming for a pizza at lunchtime but they only offer pizzas for dinner - for lunch you can get burgers.

It’s our favourite place to eat after cycling in the hills. Ordered Asian style Chilli squid salad was kinda average but the duck dish was awesome. Just stick with the Italian options and you won’t go wrong here.

Great food, large portions and well priced. Very friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended!

Food comes out looking like Mount Everest and you come out feeling like you had a Food coma.

Very cosy atmosphere. The food is excellent. Staff are very welcoming and attentive. Will be going back.

Pizza is avg I'd steer clear and try there other dishes, basically everything is amazing, we are going back soon certainly!

Been back a second time and ordered another pizza. It was fantastic! Ordered a pasta dish and bellissimo! Bottle of Chardonnay and dessert 100 bucks all up for both very satisfying and molto molto buono!
We will probably come back again when we can, considering we live in Baldivis.

I'd prefer to keep this place a secret so it doesn't get too busy and I can't get a table. But. It's excellent and I should share that with you food lovers of Perth.

First time we have been here and despite being on a busy Saturday night, service was A+. Food was insanely good and the portions were generous. The arancini balls special were particularly amazing.
