Ellie's Cafe reviews
44My partner and I ordered takeaway breakfast burgers each, a coffee and a fresh juice, couldn’t fault anything. The burgers were really great and full of flavour also very well priced, much cheaper than most other places, the juice was unreal and the coffee was lovely, thank you:)
These people can’t even open up on time, and the young girl working there doesn’t believe in smiling…
Look at this delicious food.oh wait no we've been waiting an hour and nothing's come out still. Thanks!
It was the place to go for a Pennine but now you get a bun from Coles with the least amount of content. $11.00 for a bun! Will never go again.
Music was too loud pre 10am. Food was adequate after seasoning. Coffee was middle of the road. Soft poached eggs were too hard. Spinach had no flavour, tomato had too much seasoning that wasn’t complimentary to the tomato. The choc beetroot frappe was nice. The venue itself was generally well presented with items of interest & organised displays. Verandah spaces overtly sparse. Generally a forgettable vanilla experience. Better suited for business people not paying attention.
Waited along time for our food, people that came in after us placed there order and got their order and almost finished it, My wife went to ask where our food was and was to it would be another 5 min, but 20 min later we finally received our order so we will never come back to Ellies
They had the best cba burger ever! My go-to spot for months for my most craved burger, i had returned recently to find out that they have taken it off the menu! It was so disappointing
More like 4.5
I ordered when they were a little busy (I wouldn't say peak time though).
I ordered a mocha with was perfect, came out within 5 minutes. It had the perfect ratio of coffee to chocolate, which for almost every other place they seem to struggle.
I ordered a breakfast Burrito which it's self was amazing, they heated it up enough that it wasn't burning and was heated all the way through, the ingredients blended well and were placed in a logical spot in the burrito. However, for an already made butrito that needed to be toasted it took 30 minutes to get to me.
Id still highly recommend it to anyone that comes to the area. Great location, just off the main road and there is plenty of seating.
Chicken roll.they heated it up for me so much that the cheap cheese melted onto oil, the chicken was the cheap compressed type, the roll was chewy. It was so tastless and oily. Plus I was charged more than advertised i would have taken it back but I had already returned back to work. Won't be doing that again
Had a day off work so decided on having breakfast at a cafe driving around at 7: 30am every other cafe was closed remember Ellie's cafe so found they open for breakfast at breakfast time, quick service plenty of healthy options on the menu, I enjoyed my big vegetarian breakfast and it came with a good cup of coffee. Lunch options looked good as well.
Not bad, plenty on the plate with a Big Breakfast, pity the grill plate was dirty and most of the food had a black coating on it.
Coffee was lovely, staff were busy. Sterile enclosed courtyard. Inside and outside was extremely popular but way too noisy. A very popular cafe due to the healthy food options but I wouldn't go again.
Online order was missing the main meals, they only sent the side dishes and when I called, the restaurant was closed already so obviously were rushing to just throw the last order way, very disappointing as I have been supporting this local business for a while!
My family and I called in for coffee a few times lately, WOW trailblazers in how to make a suburban cafe into a place to be coffee AWESOME
I write this review because the customer service isn't great. You can wait over 30minutes for a meal, at times they have forgotten about it all together.
Staff can come off flustered and disorganised, unfortunately making for an unfriendly/uncomfortable environment.
The food is yummy, however, pricey for the portion size you receive (depends on the meal).
Uber eats yesterday morning, consisted of Chicken Avocado Foccaccia (chicken, avocado, cheese, spinach and aioli focaccia toasted) with sweet potato fries - 2 servings.it was disgusting, wasn't really chicken - processed slice thing, no avocado and no cheese. Fries were soggy too. Look I tolerate a lot and I'm not that fussy, however, this was bad. I've heard the food has gone down hill and to be honest yes it is. Only thing that was ok was the coffee.don't bother with this cafe. I wouldn't even give it a star but I have to to get the review on.
It was terrible. We ordered breakfast, my scrambled eggs were like snot on the plate, and clearly had been cooked in a dirty pan. My husband's bacon was so badly burnt it was inedible. The sausages were also over done. Everything looked like it had been cooked on a dirty bbq all mixed in together. The serviette placed under the food was unable to soak up the oil that the food was swimming in. Maybe some better training of staff could go a long way including how to cook using clean cooking utensils.
Food great! But service is the worst 30 min wait for an acai bowl takeaway. Which the kitchen proceded to forget about then when queried about it. They proceeded to take another 15 minutes to make. I asked when ordering if the wait was long and was told no, should be only a few minutes.appears they would rather be a coffee bar.
This is not a first time the wait has been long or forgotten orders. Sadly will not be returning even though the food is great.
There food is good, but the wait times is ridiculous, 25 minutes for a fruit smoothie and they still forgot the other half of my order, which resulted in another 15 minute wait.
Friendly Staff
Excellent Breakfast size portions
Great coffee
Could do with heaters in outside area, especially when we had to sit outside due to COV restrictions on a freezing day, other wise I recommend it.
