Dymocks Hay Street reviews
35Plenty of books to chose from. Giving out gift card to all the staff from JOVY uniforms and they all are happy what we gave them. Gift with wisdom.
There was lady with purple hair called Kate. Incredibly rude and arrogant. There is a way to speak to people politely
Elder lady on the counter was lovely though, helped me with everything
Great shop and staff. But no, I don’t want to donate to your charity as I donate to mine. Stop asking me at the checkout. It’s a rude emotional ambush at the register.
Not going back until this blackmail stops.
There is nothing quite like a bookstore whose staff know their literature. - a little gem.now if they only sold coffee it would be perfect.
They should just get a proper aircon. 27 degrees plus for reading books is not cool yo. Sales will go down also obviously.
When we entered Dymocks the lady took us straight to what we were looking for, wonderful service.
The staff here are always so helpful and kind, I’m really great full especially today I came in to buy a book for myself before work and asked if they had it and the guy let me know where it was then grabbed it for me making it easier for me before work I was so great full ️
A great bookshop with a great variety of books. I always head for the history section which holds everything I search for. Perth city centre has a great shortage of bookshops but this dymocks has been there for many years and I recommend it.
Staff member wanted to see my mask exemption. She did not identify herself as having any medical qualifications to be able to breech the discrimination act and demand to see the exemption.she herself wasn’t wearing her mask correctly but felt it was her right to judge another.
We left without purchasing the books we were after.
The shop policy of discrimination cost them an $80 sale!
We then went to Kmart where the Staff member was respectful and didn’t demand to see the exemption rather taking my word for it and understanding everyone is different!
Drove into the city to get a book and checked the website that said open until 9pm. 7: 55 and it’s shut. Disappointed
One of the few bookstores left in the CBD. Good selection of books, some stationery, gifts and friendly staff. My only wish would be to see a little more variety of stationery in the store, like the shops in Sydney and Melbourne.
Used to shop here for varous books mostly for my daughter. Price is generally lower compares to Boffin so that's a good thing. I dont' live in Perth anymore, but the place left me a good impression. Still have a few dollars in my loyalty card.
One of my favourite book store's in the city. Always friendly, always polite and with a great range for readers of all ages and abilities,
Been shopping here for the past five years and love the service, variety and vibe of the place! Best place to get books in Perth!
I love the way you can just burrow into the store like a good book, and their displays are always really cool.
Very helpful service from staff. Lovely to have a book shop to be able to go into and browse so I could find exactly what I wanted.
Don't order your books from here. Takes forever and they lose special orders very often. An embarrassment to the dymocks franchise.
Also a man with bad body odour pretends to work there sometimes.
The staff are always accommodating and will attempt to find any title that you are looking for. If they are unable to source certain titles then they will give you advice on the best way to get what you are looking for. Each time I have ordered a book through the store it generally arrives within a couple of weeks, depending on the supplier or if the book is a special import. I will continue to support Dymocks Hay Street.
What a joke. They get books from Book Depository and charge a percentage. "Supporting authors" my ***.
The manager is also never there and staff don't even know whether he'll show up or not. Sad.
