Duke's Vineyard reviews
31Great Riesling and Shiraz, wide range of wines to taste. The new owners are super knowledgeable and friendly. Gorgeous dog to welcome you, too.
Nice vineyard at the toe of the hills. I really liked the Reisling and the Sauvignon Blanc reserves. Friendly and welcoming winemaker Ben and Sarah.
Always been fabulous wines here, especially the rieslings, but all have set a high bar. Great to see Ben and Sarah carrying on the warmth and high quality wine after taking over from Duke and Hilde. Some new wines coming in too, with the Maleeya's gewurtztraminer and Protea sav blanc being notably tasty additions. Looking forward to many more visits in the future
Very friendly service and puppies! I don't think the puppies will be there forever, but it made the experience so much more fun. The place overlooks the mountains full of canola plantations.
Wow, what a great find. Great selection for tastings and our cellar door host was very knowledgeable and accommodating. As an added bonus, 3 x 8 week old puppies were available for cuddles!
Great people, gorgeous spot, wonderful wines. Ben and Sarah who have taken over from Duke are obviously set to build on his legacy and take Dukes to the next level.
Hands down some of the best wine you will ever have. There is a reason why dukes always has wines right up the very top of the Halliday list of wines. Some of the best Reisling and Cabernet in the country.
We went for a tasting on a Monday morning and it was lovely, fantastic tasting service and they had the full selection available for tasting which was amazing for a Monday morning. You cant miss this place.
If you can't make it down, order some first cab and magpie hill reserve online, you won't be disappointed!
We visited today with our friends Vicki and Pete. Nola the Cellar Door Host is a standout. She is knowledgeable without being over the top. She has great customer service skills and gave us a memorable journey through the Dukes range of awesome wines. Consequently we bought a wonderful selection of wines including two of the Morrissey. Please note we did not appreciate the intrusion of the older lady (possibly owner) interrupting (about loading the glass machine?) when Nola was finalising our sale. It appeared as though Nola was considered to be talking to much. This was extremely rude and somewhat embarrassing. We were all taken aback by this. I have been a cellar door host and my husband and I have been business operators for many years as were our friends. This was uncalled for and certainly tainted our experience. Nonetheless Nola won the day and I hope she gets due recognition.
Knowledgeable host, fab wines and a really nice environment. The most enjoyable winery in the Porongorup region.
From the friendly welcome by the vineyard dog, to the laconic chats at the seller door and beautiful wines, this little gem is a must visit on your Porongorup adventure. Take time to enjoy the views as well.
Well experienced attentive staff for the tasting session. Bought the Riesling which will go well this summer.
Fantastic wine, lovely vista, great service with knowledgeable, friendly staff. Love visiting this winery.
Love the idyllic setting of Duke's, it's a beautiful corner of WA. Peace, quiet, a view of the vines and the geese. Oh, and they make some of Australia's greatest Riesling. A must visit if you're driving to Albany, its a short detour but so worth it!
Somehere on line i found that Dukes served fresh roasted coffee and have a menu. We were searching for a coffee, lunch and tasting.
A young lady promptly told me - No coffee only tasting. The wine was awarding but the welcome was not!
Great service. Super friendly and helpful. Wines overall much much better than average. Spent way too much.
This is a pleasant place to stop to taste some wine. They have several awards for their Riesling and following a posting it certainly proved to be a quality wine.
A lovely cellardoor with great hosts, a wonderful vista and a charming old dog to keep you company as you try this exceptional wine!
5 stars for the wine and friendly host. 4 starts today as we came with little kids and not really sweet up for them. Riesling is sold out due to Halliday amazing reviews and sparkling as well Cabernet from here are really good. Can't go wrong on the wine front really.
Very friendly and positive service by Duke who makes the wonderful and flavoursome wine we tried and purchased. All wines 90 plus rated by Halliday. Quality wine that you need to sit and savour.
