Dr Matthew Lawson-Smith reviews
15 This Dr helped me with my carpel tunnel within 3 days of initial appointment I was in surgery.
Surgery went smoothly wouldn't even know you had it if it wasn't for the pink arm and big bandage.
Still got a few weeks of recovery but so far I'm impressed.
Thanks for helping me
Was not able to obtain an appointment as I don't have private health insurance even though I am prepared to pay for ALL costs myself. It's a shame because he has good reviews otherwise.
I had both hands operated on by Dr Matthew Lawson-Smith
I had carpal tunnel released on both hands
I can't speak highly enough of the care I received from him, the care from his Nurse who took out my stitches to the lovely ladies at his reception desk
Overall my experience was 10 out of 10
I would definitely recommend him
They explained everything so well
About 16 months ago my GP referred me to a plastic surgeon to have my left hand carpal tunnel constriction relieved. It was painful and unsuccessful. About 6 months ago a friend had the same op done by Matthew with an excellent result so I obtained a referral to him. Nerve conduction studies showed that both hands had severe median nerve compression with the left being worse than it was before the plastic surgeon’s operation. Matthew did my right hand and a few weeks later he redid my left hand. Both results are fantastic. No pain, only one Panadol after each. No more being woken up at night with a dead hand, no more having to shake my hand while driving. At last I can go back to playing my ukulele.
Amazing work done on my broken thumb by Mr. Lawson-Smith. Am back to a fully functioning hand and never had any complications. Was back at work in my normal role in a timely manner. Very caring and considerate surgeon. Highly recommended.
Well deserved 5 star rating, Matthew is a very knowledgeable surgeon who has his patient's wellbeing at heart when dealing with their treatment. He is patient, and if necessary will wait and let nature take it course, rather than rushing in and performing surgery. His staff are wonderful and obviously think the world of Matthew, which is always a good sign. Without hesitation I would recommend Matthew, as you would be in excellent hands.
Dr Lawson-Smith performed a carpal tunnel decompression on my left hand on 11 November 2021. The procedure went very well, I experienced very little pain or discomfort over the next two weeks and the sutures were removed 25 November 2021.
I cannot speak highly enough of Dr Lawson-Smith as a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon, whose personal manner is friendly, understanding and invoking trust.
From my very first consultation, I felt totally at ease and confident that this is a person who knows his job very well.
Following a bicycle collision at Rottnest Island I was required to seek a surgeon for a fracture of distal ulnar styloid & torn ligament (broken wrist). Being a musician, it was crucial that I found the right person to ensure that my right bowing wrist would be considered in the treatment. I have friends who, following wrist surgery, things did not go so wellI. Therefore, I conducted my own researched and checked in with medical acquaintances and was very pleased to come across Dr Matthew Lawson-Smith. I found Matthew to be very transparent, open, kind and warm. What impressed me most was that just prior to surgery he explained that as my wrist injury was less common, he had consulted with two other surgeons before making a decision. Currently at the half way point, things are going well so far in recovery. I recommend Matthew as a skilled, much experienced and professional surgeon who is also honest and kind.
Dr Lawson Smith recently operated on my trigger finger which had been painful and uncomfortable for months. At my initial consultation he was friendly and easy to talk to. He gave me written information about my condition and explained my options. I had the surgery three weeks ago and my hand is almost 100% back to normal. Very happy to recommend him. His staff are also very efficient and friendly. Thanks team.
I would highly recommend Dr Lawson-Smith. I found him very friendly, caring and easy to talk to. He answered all my questions and explained fully.
I would highly recommend Dr Lawson -Smith to anyone needing hand surgery.
The care and attention l was given with recent hand surgery is reflected in my 'text book' recovery.
I couldn't have been referred to any one better.
Mathew did a top job with the operations to both my hands for Dupuytren's recently. His clinic is conveniently located at Murdoch and his staff are helpful and friendly. Thankyou!
$200 fee to get given 2 referals to go somewhere else to get treatment.i thought seeing and paying for a specialist they would actually do the injections there and then or supply the splints they want you to try
. NUP.
I had a great experience with Mr Matthew Lawson-Smith. Even though he was very busy I never felt rushed during my consultation. He took the time to explain my conditions and answer all of my questions. His treatment plan was well thought out and evidence based. His reception staff are also very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Very happy and would thoroughly recommend this hand and upper limb surgeon)
Clinic was a little hard to find (Uber) but very clean and sufficient. Admin was friendly and very helpful. Dr Lawson is very straight forward and to the point and bery profressional! Anyone need a Ortho. He's the one to see!
