AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

My child was a patient of Dr. Mark Parker, and I cannot stress enough how disappointed I am with his level of professionalism. Sometimes life presents unexpected challenges and Over the course of a year, 2 appointments had to be rescheduled due to my child falling ill, and unfortunately, one appointment was missed because nobody answers the phone or emails to inform of a cancellation! Dr. Parker abruptly refused to see my child and denied their necessary medication. This has left my child stranded and has had a detrimental effect on their health and well-being. Furthermore, Dr. Parker's refusal to provide an interim prescription until my child can see another prescribing paediatrician is not only legally considered medical negligence, but it goes against standard medical practices.

In addition to these issues, what shocked me the most was Dr. Parker and his staff's tendency to blame patients and take no responsibility for their own mistakes. Instead of acknowledging their errors, they shifted the blame onto us, the patients. This lack of accountability is truly disheartening and unacceptable.

Moreover, Dr. Parker not only refused to see my child and provide them with there medication to function but also had the audacity to tell me to go to another pediatrician. This raises questions about his professionalism and commitment to patient care. This level of dismissiveness and lack of care for his patients is deeply concerning. To make matters worse, I have recently personally been warned by medical professionals in the field about Dr. Mark Parker and their experiences of him refusing to see child patients. It's troubling to know that this behavior is not an isolated incident but a pattern that other families have also encountered.

Furthermore, I found Dr. Parker's office to be highly unprofessional. The reception staff were consistently rude and failed to respond to emails or answer phone calls. I made multiple attempts to contact the office, only to be met with weeks of unanswered calls and emails and no message service available. This level of neglect is absolutely unacceptable. In the event of a medical emergency, parents should be able to reach the doctor promptly, but that is simply not possible with this office.

As parents, we seek genuine care and expertise from a pediatrician specializing in children. Unfortunately, Dr. Mark Parker falls short in every aspect. I strongly believe that action should be taken to address these issues, and the office should be held accountable for their unprofessional behavior.

I have reached out to APPRA and HADSCO, lodging complaints regarding the medical negligence of Dr. Mark Parker's practice. As a result, an investigation will be conducted. I strongly encourage others who have experienced similar instances of medical negligence with Dr. Mark Parker to take the same action and file their complaints. Together, we can ensure that accountability is upheld and prevent further harm to child patients.

Reception is so rude when I asked why I still didn't get the report after seeing Mark 6 months ago. She even begin complaining about her overloaded work.

I paid over 600AUD for initial appointment and it only about 10 mins. Even worse, I still didn't get the report after waiting several months.

It’s sad to read bad reviews on Dr Parker and the receptionists. They are abused at no fault of their own. I have seen this myself in the practice. I have always found them to be so polite and helpful. Always made time for my son with compassion and understanding. I’m so grateful for Dr Parker and his staff. You’re all doing an amazing job amongst stressful situations.

Just wanted to say thank you to Dr Parker and his staff. My older daughter would not have been able to finish yr 12 positively without your diagnosis, kindness, patience and assistance in working with us to fit in appointments when you are so obviously flat out. Your persistence in finding the right treatment for my younger daughter and most importantly telling her you are treating her the person (not a condition) has been life changing for her confidence. We are so grateful

I am so tired of being brushed off by the reception at this clinic. That is even when emails are replied to and phone calls are answered. My child runs out medication, even when I request it a month in advance. The blame is always put back on me. When I genuinely try to find ways that both I and the clinic might improve practice so that my child is not running out of medication I am accused of being argumentative. What am I to do?

After leaving this review, I received a very rude and unprofessional phone call from Mark. I again calmly and politely requested what I could do to ease scripts being delivered on time in future. There was no interest in finding a solution. Instead, as a result of leaving a one-star review and genuinely enquiring why the script had been delayed and what both parties might do to avoid this in future, he told me to find another paediatrician for my child. And hung up on me. Even with a difficult paediatrician waitlist, I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for your family for a more reliable and professional service.

We had a great experience with Dr Mark Parker. He was informative, listened to my concerns and was very kind to my son. Sarah the receptionist was lovely, friendly, and informative as well.

RUDE! RUDE! RUDE!
Let’s start with the old hag at reception, she needs to retire and never deal with people (especially children) again, EVER! Doctor Mark Parker’s bedside manner isn’t much to be desired either, very basic knowledge for a specialist. We are now waitlisted with another paediatrician.

Impossible to get him/or the practice to follow up on simple promises like a writing a Letter stating your childs diagnosis. Had dozens of repeated phone calls and emails chasing this without success. Never available. My advice STAY CLEAR and find a practitioner that actually cares about the practice and their patients not just their bottom line.

Dr Parker is one of the rudest specialists I have ever had to deal with. Went to Him for ADHD and ASD concerns for my daughter. He quickly diagnosed ADHD but he then decided asking my daughter how she was, was a fair assessment of ASD and then promptly told us to not discuss it further with him. In another appointment he told me to stop talking when trying to explain my daughters issues surrounding eating. Not to mention he will take any chance he gets to discuss politics unnecessarily. I would give 0/5 stars if I could, avoid at all costs!

The most rudest reception staff ever! I only got a far as 'trying' to make an appointment, I have since asked my gp for another specialist referral as I refuse to be spoken to like I'm a second class citizen!

Dr Parker is amazing and I cannot fault him at all, I am however disappointed with 1 particular receptionist, very rude and unapproachable. On many occasions I have been dismissed by her and the tone in which she speaks to people is absolutely disgusting, if Dr Parker wasn't so good at his job I would definitely consider moving to another paediatrician so I don't have to deal with his awful receptionist

A proclaimed neurologist over many years but knows nothing of brain inflammation and treating gut health. Wouldn't waste your time

My husband and I highly recommend Dr Parker, he listens without judgement and made us feel so much better about the whole process with our son. We have previously been to another paediatrician who left us feeling even more confused but Dr Parker knows exactly what he is doing and how to get the ball rolling.definitely 5 stars

I found Dr Parker to be abrupt and very negative towards colleagues in the industry. He made me uncomfortable.
