My laptop has been fixed! I needed both CPU & GPU fans replaced as they were making terrible sounds. Alan was very nice & after opening the laptop to have a look he ordered the fans & installed them after I dropped the laptop off again. So it took 2 visits but that's the nature of the work. I would definitely use Dr. Laptop if I have any issues in the future.

Personal experience here has been overwhelmingly positive. They are always happy to extend a helping hand and exceed expectations for customer service. Correspondence and communication great.

Sent my laptop in to retrieve documents off the hard drive after I suspected I’d ruined my laptop from water damage. I got no phone call to say they had even finished with it, it was only after I called them asking about it that they told me that there was no chance of retrieving the documents. I picked up the laptop and still paid the fee, only to get home and give it a go myself and retrieve all documents successfully. Now I’m by no means a computer expert - It just doesn’t even seem like they tried? ! Rip off and a waste of my time.

Worst service I have encountered in years dealing with repair “professionals”. Overly aggressive and hides behind a wall of dishonest small print. Obviously only out to rip people off rather than encourage return business or fix equipment properly.

Early in 2020 I asked them if they could re-install MacOS on my old iMac as I had tried without any luck. They said no problems, but when I got the imac back it was formatted completely! They didn't back up the contents or call me to check whether it was ok to do so. Thank god I didn't have too many important documents on there

DON'T GO TO THIS GUY.

I went to get a new usb chip installed on my laptop and when i got my laptop back, it had been restored to factory settings.the guy ran a system restore on my system after installing the new part. He didn't even contact me before he ran the system restore, he just did it without even asking.i lost almost everything.

I wish i never took it in to be repaired.
I ended up paying someone to destroy a large amount of the work that i had on my laptop.

Huge waste of money, i wish i did it myself. The old guy working here probably doesn't even realise the damage he's done.

Poor customer service and lack of communication lead to an extremely undesirable outcome. Be smarter.take it anywhere else.

I have taken computers to this place before and they have been competently fixed. This time i took my wifes computer in and did not hear back from them even though they told me they would call me to tell me that it would be ready to pick up.
They told me that they had lost the computer and that they would call me back in a few days. They did not call me back. I had to call them and i was told that they we reorganising the shop and were unable to find the computer.

I ground my teeth a bit and ask them to call me when they have found it which they said would take a few days. They didn't. When I called them they told me the computer was still lost.i said what happens if you don't find it? They said oh we will find it i said i will give you a few more days and call me after that period and let me know if you have found it. They didn't call me. Finally I call them a fourth time and they told me they had the computer and it was ready to pick up. They quoted me $165 with no mention of the bad service and terrible communication which I had experienced.

I went into collect the computer and asked for a discount because i have lost my computer for a week.in actual fact it was more like to 2 weeks and perhaps more than that but. I was told that because i did not come to collect the computer right away it mustn't have an important. It was explained to me that it was the fault of my wife's computers finish which did not allow labels to stick to it properly that it was lost for so long. They refused to give me any sort of discount unless i paid in cash.

Terrible, terrible service. Terrible, terrible communicators.

Alan got the part I needed and did some specialized work to get things to fit. Thorough and knowledgeable.

Seemed to know nothing about voltage testing hardware, or actual technical repairs beyond what a novice could do with youtube tutorials. I dropped off my worse-for-ware laptop after I broke it and they charged be $100 or so to essentially turn it off and on again and didnt even put it back together, it was in pieces in the box. I was provided no details even on asking about what in particular was malfunctioning and/or broken in particular almost as if they had done nothing at all. Essentially a glorified cash-converters PC shop, do not take computers there for repairs.

Really helpful and friendly staff! I came in 2 minutes before they closed and they were still able to help me.

I don't think the low rating reviews are very fair, people seem to severely undervalue computer repair work and how time consuming it can actually be.

I took my laptop to doctor laptop on 13th October this year with the ‘blue screen of death’ as they call it. I informed them that I would prefer to have the job done quickly as I needed my laptop urgently for uni work. The man at the desk when I took it there informed me it would be fixed by the Tuesday at $270, but said I could pay extra and they would try to repair it faster. It had gotten to the Tuesday and I had heard nothing so I called them up and was informed that they were ‘having some trouble’ with my laptop, and may have to contact HP directly.

On the Friday I called them back again as I had heard nothing from them. I was told that ‘HP had not gotten back to them yet’, and that they would ring again that day. Another week went by, so I called back again, and I was informed that they were still trying to work on it. Another week went by, by which time it was getting ridiculous that they hadn’t got back in contact with me once and I had to constantly contact them, for them to tell me that by 3 weeks they had still done nothing. I called them again. I was told they would get in contact with HP again and call me back within an hour.

They emailed me a couple of hours later with the information that they would need to reload the system, and asked me the same questions that I was asked when initially taking the laptop into the shop which was if I needed any of the data on the laptop. I informed them that I would preferably need the data and if they couldn’t do anything by this point then I would come and get it and take it som where else. A few emails later I was informed that HP had told them they would send the ‘recovery media’ needed to reload my laptop and they would inform me once it arrives in the ‘next couple of days’. I emailed almost a week later to ask if it had arrived. They said no. I emailed another week later to inform them that even if my laptop was not fixed by Friday 16th November that I would come and collect it as I’m an international student and was heading back to the UK. I got no reply. So I went into the shop on the Saturday to be told that HP was never able to send the recovery media because it was an ‘international’ laptop, and the recovery media wouldn’t work on it (even if this was true, they never informed me of this). Upon getting back to the UK I have been informed by a subsequent shop that recovery media for HP laptops anywhere in the world would have sufficed as the type of software on each laptop does not depend on what country you are in. I was charged $55 for my laptop to sit in their shop for five weeks. Waste of time. Judge for yourselves.

I took my laptop for repairs. It had stopped powering up. I came back to pick it up a few days later. My unit was returned dirty, but it appeared to be working in the store, so I was happy. The charge of $160 seemed a bit steep, but I was happy if it meant I wouldn't need to buy a new laptop. The first time I tried to use it, it still would not power up. After taking it back again, I was informed they couldn't fix it. No effort was made to offer even a partial refund. I have never felt so robbed by a business in my life. I run a small business myself and I understand that man hours are costly. I also understand the importance of happy customers and when to take a loss for the sake of customer service, and the importance of word of mouth.

Sold a dud computer. Constantly crashes. Claims no liability. Dodgy dealer - avoid. Obvious that some of his positive reviews are fake
