Dr David Roberts / Kids Doctor reviews
31 If I could give a zero I would.
My son was already diagnosed ADHD however his previous paediatrician retired.
We spent 18 months being made to attend quarterly appointments and having my sons mediation changed 3 times only to end up back on the same mediation and dosage we were on when we started.
At his last appointment we had waited over an hour when we needed to leave for another appointment. I advised the receptionist and within an hour, a letter was sent to my GP stating that Dr. Roberts would no longer see my son due to us not waiting.
From the other comments I've read it is clear he is focused on making money not caring for his patients.
After paying nearly $700 Was told to lock our 4 year old in his room and to reinforce the door If he breaks it, the school, dcp and child development services all agreed not to follow dr Roberts advice. When I called his office to tell them what are we able to do I was rudely yelled at told my other son who has been seeing dr Roberts was no longer a patient and we could no longer be seen at his practice all because we got different opinions and took them to him for advice.
Just remember this is the same doctor that has been charged for telling parents to beat there children with in a inch of there lives, Google his name read the news reports, wish I did before seeing him.
Dr Roberts is close to retirement and had us coming back for more appointments with no real progress.
I would not recommend this Doctor.
I just finished up seeing David Roberts about my ADHD. I started seeing Dr Roberts after I noticed I was having more trouble focusing in school than my peers, but I had been able to carry myself up until that point in year 11. Dr Roberts was really friendly, was great to talk to, and was really good at simply explaining some of the things about my condition.
I also developed a tic disorder in 2020, which Dr Roberts was able to treat effectively, again validating my experience but also effectively reducing some of my anxieties about the condition. The treatment worked well, and I'm much better for it.
I've found Dr Robert's very good, and I'm a bit puzzled by some of the negative reviews on here, as that certainly wasn't my experience
Highly recommend Dr Roberts. Super friendly and bubbly. With ADHD he doesn’t just Medicate he focuses on the things parents can do before medicating. Honestly the best doctor we could have been referred to.:)
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr Roberts, and his staff, he has been nothing but kind to me and my son who he has now been seeing for 5.
Dr Roberts has been looking after our family for 10 months. We have found Dr Roberts communication, approach and assessment of our children to be fantastic. Every appointment has been beneficial and thorough and we always leave feeling very positive. We highly recommend Dr Roberts and encourage families to make the trip to Joondalup.
My family was very pleased with the way Dr. Roberts handled our case. He came recommended by senior medical professionals and we had a fantastic experience.
After reading previous reviews we were a little nervous about seeing this doctor but went in with no prejudice. Initially things went well and the review was thorough. However, when asked for a simple referral for additional support at school things turned ugly. I was accused, along with the school of using his name to get extra money (effectively fraud, using his terminology). Seemed more concerned with his reputation rather than my sons well being and development. We will be seeking a new pediatrician. He was condescending and patronising in his tone and delivery and accused me of being "confused" when I clearly was not.
Dr Robert’s has made a response to my review that is a blatant lie and I will be contacting a lawyer in regards to this. I “requested” (email proof) a letter to support HIS diagnosis so I could obtain ongoing support for my child during school at the suggestion of his wonderfully supportive teacher. This response is nasty and untrue. Beware if this doctor at all costs.
My Hubby n I would highly recommend Dr David Roberts! Our lil legs (ASD) has come a long way with his recommendations. I can not fault him. We have been with him almost 2 yrs & we travel from Seville Grove to Joondalup & are happy to do so no issues at all. We are very happy with his expertise
Dr Roberts is very professional and explained very clearly the correct ways to manage our daughters behaviour. His instructions to us as parents were very helpful and brought peace and normality back into our family.
Highly recommended.
Dr David advised my son should not be on NDIS but later asked for an expensive academic assessment to be conducted without telling us it was to check for Autism-based on his original advice we discontinued assistance from NDIS, we are now back on the waiting list to see a pediatrician who became qualified after the Bore War, & hopefully get back on NDIS.
Found guilty of professional misconduct and from own experiences can see why. He acted unprofessionally and inappropriately.
He treated my partner as though she were not there though he spoke directly with me. Had dealings in family court where he revealed a patient’s personal medical details incorrectly and without the permission of the family. On another occasion we had to have a professional watch our appointment as he had again been accused of misconduct we were informed.
My 11 yr old daughter has been seeing Dr. Roberts for a while now and we are very happy.
Dr. Roberts is always honest and upfront with me which I like. He is always nice, very polite and he has a heart if gold this Dr. I would highly recommend him.
Dr Roberts is a fantastic Pediatrician with a wealth of knowledge. I highly recommend.
My 11 year old son has suffered with chronic anxiety for nearly two years. It took over both his family and school life. We tried a variety of things with "No success" before seeing Dr Roberts. After 3 months, I can honestly say, "we have our beautiful, happy boy back". Thanks a million Dr Roberts.
I would not recommend this doctor to any family. We found Dr Roberts had no waiting list and we were able to book in quickly, which we were happy about. Parents, there is a reason he has appointments available! We asked for an assessment and a report. He completed very little assessment with my child and his report did not represent my child at all. Some of the language he used to talk about my child in this report was very rude. When I called to complain both his staff and Dr Roberts were rude and unhelpful on the phone. When we have seen other paeds, we have been told that his assessment was not complete and the results did not make sense. Very disappointed.
Just over 12 months ago I was at my wits end. My then 7y/o nonverbal ASD son was struggling. We were all struggling. With Dr Roberts expertise we are now thriving. Dr Roberts has provided my son with expert, systematic care, addressing all of his needs with a holistic approach. He is now attending appropriate therapy, is in a different school, has the correct interventions to allow him to function to his maximum potential. I cannot thank this man enough. He has changed our lives for the better. My son is now happy and thriving. I would recommend Dr Roberts to anyone looking for a thorough and approachable doctor for their child.
A great paediatrician that helped us enormously, I will be forever grateful for all his guidance and expertise
Well, put it this way after seeing our newborn baby in excruciating pain day and night and repeatedly being told by doctors he will hopefully grow out of it, despite them witnessing his screams and writhing in pain for hours on end, we went private and chose Dr Roberts.
By this point my son was 4 and half months old and we were so worn and desperate to see our son happy, we would have just about done anything at all.
The receptionist whom I rang in tears, was so helpful. We attended our appointment and I was sceptical after our experiences thus far and I was ready to be fobbed off again and prepared for my response.
This was so far from it, he was unbelievably helpful, he listened to us, he took the time, he cared, genuinely cared.
He had such a calming tone that my husband and I instantly knew that we were in good hands. He was prescribed some much needed medication, no messing around. Within 1 week we returned to update on the progress, he was a different baby. He was starting to smile, to happily lay on his tummy, to coo.all of the things we were waiting to see for months.
To say we are grateful, would not quite cut it. I would recommend Dr Roberts over and over again.
Thank you so much
Nothing but praise for Dr David Roberts. I can not thank you enough for finding a rare disorder that 7 other specialist did not find on my 2 year old. Could not be happier to finally have some answers and thank you for going the extra mile in helping us get to this point.
